In following the codec-upgrade section of your video, at 6% of the operation, a dialog box appears titled "ttf-mscorefonts - installer". It includes an EULA agreement with an OK at the bottom, but no way to select OK, even scrolling to the bottom of the agreement. pressing ENTER does nothing to advance past it, so I am forced to reset, clear and close the terminal, aborting the installation with no way to proceed further. Suggestions ??? (I assume this is more of a concern for Wine, so I am happy to skip this item and proceed onto other updates. Is there a way to select which "ubuntu-extras' are installed, since this one breaks the installation process for all others. Your channel was instrumental in helping me chose between distros (I landed on Zorin), and I am sure you will become a trusted source of information and assistance moving forward. Many thanks. The Microsoft EULA also appears with the installation of TLP, blocking the completion of that installation as well.
Go to settings, scroll down to Users, click on the pen icon to edit the name and correct it accordingly. If you intend to change the PC name, scroll further down to About click on Device Name and change it accordingly.
Ok i install zorin os 16.2 multiple times and i have the same problem every time. The problem is after the install it requires a restart and after that before the pasqord menu to get in it pop out NOT OPTIMUM MODE RECOMENDED MODE 1280X1024 60HZ
Ok here is a challenge for you, most of your instructions are teaching how to use terminal to do things in Zorin. As a windows user, we never have to use command prompt or have to remember any commands. Zorin is sold as a windows alternative. So could you do this tutorial with Zorin OS not Linux terminal.
except the tlp (baterry thing), everything else can be done with the GUI. he is doing it the old school and OG linux way, but he should have shown both ways
Honestly as a novice with the terminal its worth learning and not something you need to study. Just pay attention to the process of some commands and you'll notice familiar aspects
@@UnifiedInfo yes, you are right. but for newcomers, it would have been nice to show how it's done via GUI. you don't want to scare them ahahah. I started doing all the things via gui but today I do some basic things only with the terminal because it's just one place to do everything
@@Doonutzs it's not really about being scared, it's about prioritising time. Is it worth taking time to learn this. Most things these days you don't need to code, eg wordpress cms as there are Gui apps that do it way quicker than coding. Why code the html for a button when you can grab one off the shelf and drag it into place. Same goes for operating systems. The gui needs to be capable in this day and age to do most things. It seems backwards to revert to days of dos to do simple things. Can you imagine an iphone user having to go to the terminal to change a setting? a modern os needs to be first and foremost a complete GUI product. Fine for the techies to play in the terminal, but for an Os that is sold as an alternative os - work station with windows users in mind, it will chase them away when things seemingly dont work or are not intuitive as they need to do work, not waste time enabling their work to happen. People just want to quickly install their apps and get on with it, without the os getting in the way.

I don't know what people find scary about the terminal, I started using Ubuntu when I was 11 years old. It's just a command

Zorin Os and Linux Mint is far easier than Windows, even you can install it easily , you don't need IT guys for that.
