I like how the ritual puzzles all play a key role in reshaping the world Elster inhabits. Every puzzle item for them has some sort of attribute to "assembling" reality and what the world is made out of. Greatly adds to the secret ending where you can alter the last piece of the ritual with the Lily, those being all the different versions of Elster, ultimately fabricating a reality where she's resurrected and they're both together.
By the time I reached this room, I was already convinced this was one of the best games I'll ever play. However, here was the first room I can say for sure I had stopped to processes what was going on. The ominously empty and dimly lit waiting lobby, with a door leading to something bigger. And a song that had my head swimming trying to put together what few pieces of this masterful puzzle I could. The first room that gave me peace in a surrounding nightmare. Such a perfect game.
I remember just pausing for ages in this room the first time I played Signalis. The rest of the music in the game is incredible, but this piece in particular is singularly haunting and beautiful.
I found this room in the game mesmerizing, I just stood here for a while I'm unsure what it is about it, this game is so oddly comforting even in its most horrifying and sad moments.
Weirdly... hearty, though the place may fit it well, however hard it is to describe it. The "Ritual Nowhere" heard later achieves something in conjuction.
They're *just* bamboo plants, but given the game's theme (being vague to avoid spoiling things), it's not a stretch to say that they were made to look scythe-like.
I thought the same thing too. I thought it was some weird Alien vs. Predator trophy room type area. You've also got that weird eldritch/occult looking stele in the middle.
This game deserves so much more recognition than it has. It deserved to be nominated for steam's story rich category.
One of the few modern games that made me feel something after I beat it. Probably better than whatever was named game of the year.

I first heard this in the stalker gamma modpack. For the longest time I only knew it as "the glass harmonica track". Really beautiful music.
