Man I am sure this game have something wrong with it, the same effect happened to me and my friend when we played it. Maybe the frequency in the music mess with the subconscious of the player and the story itself is hard not to think about idk I am sure their is something wrong with this game.
@@xCorzo650x I get where you're coming from (the documents make for a break in the gameplay that doesn't always suit the tense atmosphere,) but I coulda read that shit all day. The setting is rich enough that every sentence feels like it matters somehow. Not to the GAMEPLAY, mind you ;D

Ariane's Theme is emotionally devastating. the core riff/motif heard in Die Toteninsel is made even more impactful by the washed out ambience and distant, flickering notes, fading away into nothing. so dark, so wistful, so sad, so sweet.
A lot of the soundtrack is like that, where paying attention to the leitmotifs can add meaning. Like Falke's theme having Ariane's theme reversed in it, I think to symbolize how while she almost understands what's happening and what Ariane wants, she ultimately completely misunderstands and goes in the opposite direction.
Interestingly, the track is basically unused in the game (you only hear a very brief part of the MHNR track for a second before the creepier "Mynah" track begins)
I made a promise to play this game... Friends, at long last I have finished the game. What a journey it has been. thank you for encouraging me to play this masterpiece. I cant believe it. From Blame! vibes to the paintings and media used in this game are all up my alley. My favorite panting Isle of the dead is weaved to perfectly into the the dark themes of the game. And king in yellow is a unique alternative to cosmic horror elements(still confused about how it ties in tho). Lynchian existential drama, retro futuristic aesthetics and occult imagery... Signalis is definately going in my hall of fame. Cycle:[REDACTED] Can anyone hear me??? I just hope my comment reaches to someone as I slowly die in this forgotten cryopod...

Damn I've just discovered "MNHR" here and it's actually chill and relaxing. Sounds like you're in some fantastic unreal place. It's really sad not full soundtrack was in the game.

idk the game but I remember a video about a painting that looked like this. A lady liked it and requested the initial artist place a woman and a skeleton on the boat since her husband had recently died. The island was never meant to symbolize anything, but obervers years later would see the skeleton figure and connect the island to limbo or the afterlife. It's a interesting story of how one tiny detail can change a whole audiences interpretation of a piece of media for generations. Aside from that, this music is as relaxing as sliding down a cheeze grater dick first, cheers!
What a beautiful, sad, and existential title. Past the 80's cassette futurist anime aesthetic and Resident Evil gameplay is a story about cycles, tragic romances, and psychological concepts relating to identity, memories, and uncertainty about reality.
