I think this track greatly accompanies Adler's situation everything around him, the world he helped to organise, is falling apart by forces he cant fight or control, and at the darkest hour, the only person he can turn to slowly succumbs too instead of losing his nerves screaming, he becomes more passive each cycle, not being above the system but a part of it, letting things pass through him, becoming more disconnected and falling into himself, trying to grab onto something to change situation anyhow, roaming to find the solution or sitting in his room, half awake half dreaming, indifferent to surrounding, his eyes present but not fully grasping things around him
Games like Signalis truly suck. Not because they are bad games, but because they stick with you way too long, and that it makes me sad every time I think of the story. Yuri and Barbara made something truly special.
They suck for anyone willing to do literary analysis on them, not because they're shallow or uninspired, but because they're purposefully crafted in a way that loops you around and leads you down extensive paths of references and callbacks, so that anyone trying to dissect the game ends up where they started without having grasped the extent of the game. The game is as simple/complex as you make it, you can take everything at surface level or you can reach a deep layer of philosophy by looking into it; the two interpretations are still equivalent.
...When I got to SIGNALIS's results screen, the first thing that immediately came to mind was the question of 'Huh... I wonder if the people who first played Silent Hill 1 when it came out were this confused about whether any of what we experienced actually happened in reality?'
@@Kenshikensignalis is very simple too when you don't try to get in the meat of it. It's pretty much equivalent to the stories of SH1/2. All of these games, however, have incredible depths and sybolism which aren't apparent on the surface level. I recommend you look into literary analysis of the silent hill games, though they don't have the "King in Yellow" effect that Signalid has on its players, they still explore much of the same themes.
Something about this track that I just can't put my finger on. It feels above everything else, like a homage to the entire game; a love letter to the world's melancholy and your struggle, in the form of music that makes you feel - for a moment - tranquil
I think you pretty well described it. The name of the track translated is "Eternal Return", which is a philosophical concept that the game references more than once. Depending on the perspective you take, it could be comforting or horrifying. Although mostly horrifying when it comes to this game lol
This music makes me so, so deeply sad, more than any other piece of music from the soundtrack, and I am still struggling to understand why. I know that it's more than the simple answer of "the end of the saddest game I ever played," yet I can't place exactly what that is.
This track is a perfect representation of the idea behind the title, eternal return. To me this sounds like sitting in some sort of afterlife, pondering your life, all the good and the bad, and realizing you're going to have to do it all over again. Forever and ever. It feels tired and apprehensive and sad, but resigned to its fate.
Even though I felt huge emotional connection with the game upon finishing it I had not fully realized the weight of the tragedy of this story. And during that day and night I was thinking about all what happened again and again, even had vague dreamings about something concerning Signalis while sleeping. The next day after waking up I stumbled upon a video compiled from all melancholic/ambient tracks from the game, and exactly this is the track which broke me to tears just fucking completely right when the piano started. I feel like it represents the tragedy of coming to terms with the fact that nothing can be done, the hope is gone and you are being stuck in gazing at the future which will never happen. And while having incredible empathy for the main characters, this very thought tears the heart to shreds with its cold cosmic indifference to such warm things as truest deep love and hope. And every time I think about it I start crying. This game stayed within me.
This game is just pure perfection. A project oozing with passion, effort and care, which doesn't happen often (I would even say it never happens) with new games. I just love this game from the first day I've seen the Pyrocynical stream (I didn't watch it completely to avoid spoilers). I wish the game was longer, because I would like to enjoy more time with it. It's a perfect masterpiece and I'm proud of people in rose-engine and also happy that this game exists in the first place. Thank you for this experience. This experience will probably never get beaten by any other game, because this is a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you.
2 people! 2 bloody people in Rose Engine made this masterpiece of a game. 2 people made a game that made me feel a million times more than any AAA game did in 10 years. Nothing but respect to Rose Engine.
Every time I come back to this song, it's like putting my hands to a flame over and over again. I know it'll burn, but I can't help but want to feel that warmth again.
It's a tinge of humanity kept in a messy room of someone trying to keep things bearable. The atmosphere here stood out, and the song just... it works very well.
This entire soundtrack is irreplaceable to me and looking back, now define some very special moments for me. I can remember over and over that here, in that moment, we were content.
I feel like I can just melt away listening to these songs 😂 They aren't just beautiful- they're connected to something we all recognize all too well. That's special.

This room, Adlrs room. I was trying to solve the planet puzzle. Then I picked up on the music, this song. I sat there, it had to have only been a minute, two minutes max. It felt like hours past by. I started to wonder why I was truly here, if the woman I was pursuing was worth saving. If Aldr is protecting Falke, who is in a coma.. What is left of this place? Is it really just myself, Aldr, and the woman? Then the rest of the game happened. Signalis has it's issues, but it is my favorite game of all time. It ruined me, and I'm thankful for it.
Its an almost an indescribable feeling for me when listening to this. We as Elster 2 fight so hard to retain and complete our promise to the one we love the most. But as we keep our promise. We know that in the end. We succumb to death. This OST made me feel a feeling of sadness and thankfulness. Thankful that the nightmare has finally come to an end but sad that 2 innocent lovers had to endure true hell before resting forever. It took me awhile to finally put into words.
Honestly this is one of those songs that immedietaly stuck with me on the long run, just having this play as I read Adler's journal made me feel very odd, I think I was starting to actually understand just how dark the world must feel just not for me, but for everyone else.
I came here after MEMORY and PROMISE endings and damn... This OST as result theme gives me some kind of serenity, especially after PROMISE ending, where cycles are broken (probably) and this nightmare ends, leaving the doomed minds of Arianne and Elster be.
They never had it on spotify, but are trying to get it released there IIRC. You might have seen someone's playlist instead, since you can upload local files to spotify
I look into Death's face and smile Death is confused. "Why?" He says. I respond: "Because you have no sting... No pain... To live is Christ, and to die is gain..." From that moment forward, I am welcomed into The Father's House. His Kingdom. Heaven.
