- Hauling Corn in January is always a fun job. Minnesota winter road conditions almost always make for a mess. Slick roads make the job a bit more difficult.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

"Probably don't want to stand right there until we get a warmer day and this stuff all falls down". Gets to the bottom and sees Jim standing right where he was just pointing. Lol
I could watch your channel all day. Good tunes, great commentary, wonderful sense of humor on the side. All that and a beer and I'm all set.
Can't begin to say how I enjoy your videos. Farming never gets out of your blood. Feeding the world is important.
I'm currently addicted to your channel.. love it! I not only appreciate such a positive look into farming life, but I'm from Wisconsin so I appreciate finding a youtuber who's accent I can actually understand 🤪😁👍 Keep up the good work!!
I love all the pop culture references you make in your videos. That was a super cool time lapse of ice melting off the truck! Definitely need more of those. Love Off the Husk!
Well I'm glad to see another video. Here in Pennsylvania no snow yet. I better come out for a visit to play in the snow. Have a great afternoon
The Farming Life why would anyone want you out here in the Midwest. The local people around you can barely stand you. People catch on to your untruthfulness pretty easily Eric. Ones you have a bad reputation it’s hard to out run it.
I believe it's been about 2 years since I started watching Mn Millennial Farmer, I think you were around 50,000 subscribers. Today you are at 409k, what an accomplishment and what a ride. Congratulations and thanks for all you and your family do in promoting agriculture bridging the gap from city to rural America.
this is only my 2nd year watching millennial farmer i started watching last year
Thxs again for posting this, I piddled with farming when I was 12 till 19 or 20,some really good fun was had buy a lot of hillbilly, S just looking to blow off steam after a hard week of work. We would spend all weekend in our boats down on the lower end of Lake Cumberland. A lot of people came down from Ohio to Camp the better parts of Summers that was in the early summer and we would get to know eachother and they love their music, and we loved to play so it worked well for all,, and just had a blast,, really good memories thanks for giving me a chance to unload
Who else loves watching zach? This guy makes me laugh in every video hahahaha I could watch him all day!!
Those podcasts are solid GOLD! keep it up
So glad you mentioned the ethanol plant tour about a year ago. Viewed just after this video, didn't then. Outstanding video presentation by you and the Chippewa Valley Ethanol Plant manager. What a revelation.
Thanks for keeping us posted on your daily fun activities
Keep making your videos, they are one of my life's highlights. I wasn’t a farmer just an ole country boy tryin to get by. Worked a job and raised a few cattle on the side, nothing big, raised my own feed processed it with an old hammer mill. Admire the relationship of you and your Dad.
Must be a farmer thing because our lorry loads are always a "smidgen heavy" too! :) UK Farmer
Man I was having withdrawals can’t wait for better weather I hope to be setup half as good as y’all’s operation learn something new every video and love the podcast and as always stay safe on those messy roads.
Hauling corn is so much fun. Road a semi into Chicago Harbor to dump a load of soy beans. They lift the truck up (kind of line they do for potatoes) back then. Passenger side seat didn't have 'air ride' and was a 'bit' bumpy.
As to the “off the husk” from this morning, I would totally love if Mike Rowe made it on lol
Same
Call him up!! 🤣
@@MillennialFarmer I love the videos keep them coming we still have beans in the feild
@@MillennialFarmer thanks for the ❤️
Fun fact mike rowe did an episode at a turkey brooder farm
over the past 18 months as i've observed many youtube farmers across the nation, I gotta say, its a real pleasure to see how tight your run your operation. hats off to you, your pops and your family. you guys are the real deal and make a reg american like me so very proud!
cant stop wont stop
Glad to see Ana has her winter coat on... : ) I have a Shepherd, a boy, they're the best...
Off the husk is absolutely the most entertaining podcast i've come across so far. Love the banter between you guys!
Hell, I learn something too!
I love Becky's Minnesota ascent
I love the White Equipment hat Zach! We farm a few thousand acres with about a thousand head of cattle up here in Alberta Canada, and we are still running a bunch of old whites. Heck, we still have an old Minnie Moline, too--I thought we were the only ones haha. Love the work, keep it up.
I liked the time laps. Especially the ice. Nice to see how it thaws.
Funny how it all turned to liquid form and went straight down to the ground, carefully catalog that into some kind of file for future reference.
I think more "off the husk " podcast are needed
Where are can I watch them at
Garret Varilek Spotify is where I listen to them but I think all podcast streaming platforms
@@garretvarilek6633 podcast it's only audio. I use Google podcast. There's apple apps for podcasts. There's literally 100s of ways
Anthony French you can even look it up on google
Caleb Eigenberg WOW I did not know that. Zack is like every where
I'm so glad this is just a show. I was worried the millennial farmer could get hurt driving a truck on dangerous roads. I then remembered Zach Johnson is an Actor and only plays the millennial farmer on television.
Ah yes, the sloppy wet snow season. My favorite time of the year to be a truck mechanic.
And all of that glorious salt getting into the wiring and such.
How I miss it.
I could be fighting that stuff right now, but I decided to retire so I could sit at home and watch Zack do it instead.
I know they are some work or extra effort but the time lapse are a nice touch.
I absolutely loved how interesting you made your mundane stuff!! the timelapse of you driving to the ethanol plant had some really good scenery!! and I thought it was quite awesome to watch the benefits of having a heated shop soo you can just watch the mess on the semi melt away!!
Keep up your good work
Gotta love the time lapse shots! Thanks for sacrificing for us with that 2nd climb up the bin!😜
This is by far my favorite youtube spot now. Love watching the videos. Just wished I lived up there & could apply for a job lol. Well can't wait for the Millennial farm map on FS19........
2 Trade Deals MCA and China Phase 1 Passed .. Yeehaw ! Great job on your channel .. look forward to another year on the farm !
The time lapse of the ice melting at the end of the video was really cool
Your videos are like the best!!! I LOVE watching these videos!!! And whats really cool, you explain all the detail on whats going on and what your doing and all that.....Perfect!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!
OH BOY there is nothing better than time lapse ice melting videos. I NEED MORE!
Right when the snow melting was getting good, you cut away. I am crying.....
I remember US 287 was closed after a ethanol truck overturned near Quanah TX. A lot of premium distillers grain also feeds cows to make milk.
I just discovered your channel and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do. Since I broke my back about all the farming I'm able to do is watching you and the Welkers and play farm sim lol. Your videos help, thanks.
The Millennial can sing too what other amazing talents do you poses
مساء الخير انا أحد متابعينك ومعجب في عملك دائما متميز مصانع عملاقة جميله جدا
You know there’s not much content when we’re getting time lapses of ice melting 😂🤣😂
It's a lot better than watch paint dry anyway! LOL
@@uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759 That will be the video filler when it gets warmer out. Its much more exciting to watch paint dry when it's warm out. If it's to cold, the action is just to slow and most would find that boring...
I was dispointed when we didn't get to see the end of the ice melting.
But it beats the alternative! I am an impatient man. It is like my wife saying I will be right back or just a second. I would have heated steps on my grain tanks if only I were a millennial. If no one can tell, this is a big complement to this channel.
Just pissed he cut it before it was over😂
Low 40 degrees here in east central Illinois just finished hauling hay out to the pasture for our animals I hope the weather stay like this till spring
Don't have much to do other than watching your videos and feedings our animals
Little note from the Edge, your tractor's air Suspension ist loosing air pressure. Normaly the 4-cycle-safetyvalve secures all cycles from the leeking one. (If such a system is common in the US). So this is not a normal loose of supplypressure, there must be a leak in one of the airbellows, hose, or levelvalve.
nothing like watching snow melt in a time lapse.....
Digging the WFE hat young man
Growing up with Oliver's. I was thinking the same..
Yes sir nothing like a open station turned up 1950T at night, chisel plow sunk deep, working the over/under,kill the lights and watch that ol girl snort flames out the stack....back when iron had soul.
Love off the husk!!!
Nice day for hauling corn
Here in the Buckeye state we call biodiesel Willie fuel.
I hope you washed and polished that truck and trailer before taking it out in public again.
Keep up the great work.
God bless you and your family.
I saw what you did there!!!!!
You took the dump (in the Porta John) before you went on the outbound. scale.
You sir are a legend! Lol.
Thanks for sharing Zach n company.
I love your videos I feel guilty cause I’m a month behind but it’s time to binge while slow at work
I have to say the last two podcasts have been the best so far. I love the podcast keep it up
Love that hat!!!
It's only -22 here right now but Minnesota is a duck of its own, You won your foot ball game like that pays you money when you have up to millions of dollars in those bins. I can only imagine when you find one of those hot spots and you ask will it make gas or pe food or will they just shove in in a can and mark it Libby's can delights. Thanks for sharing and good luck
Thanks for the video looks cold over there... Download the the podcast, ready for work in Ireland 🇮🇪
I did it!!! It wasn't that hard
I am amazed that you actually get paid for your bathroom visit, since you scaled before and after.😜
Good one. hopefully he took a big 2 or a river of one
Shoulda knocked more of that scholp off the truck before weighing out too.
Best channel on RUclips and I am not even a farmer.
Hey here's an idea guys, why don't you install a heat trace wire around the top of your silo's? The draw electrically is minimal and you really only have to turn it on when you have a snow accumulation. You not only have yourself to keep safe but your children could play around the silo's and pups. Got to protect everything near and dear to your hearts right.
Excelente ¡¡¡ muy buenos tus vídeos... saludos desde Argentina
I dont know about beaches, but i know a few bars that have had disasters over spilt ethanol.
love the vidoe ur awsome guy your work ethic is awsome
Love the White farm equipment hat.
That truck was mighty moooiiissstttt
I had worked as a federal grain inspector and was wondering what your corn weighed this year.
Believe it or not the heaviest corn I ever saw was ear corn that was crib dried, 63 lbs a bushel.
I believe it!
It is smart to start loading the trailer from the front.
By the way. You have nice dogs who help and guide you.
the time lapse was a fun angle to see despite the icy conditions on the bin :)
Glad you have you back it’s been way too long! 👍🏻
Non- farmer likes watching. Wishing I was younger and firmer so I could help someone.
I seen a semi drip-dry. My day is complete :). LOL
Great job on the editing in one Becky!
Love the hat. I’m from Charles City IA. Home of White Farm Tractors
Love the DOT comments about your weight on board....
put a dump valve on the last drive axle on the trucks, then you have all the weight on the front drive. makes a big difference when trying to get around empty.
Nice hat. We still farm with a 2-155 White here in Northeast Pennsylvania
It looks like the hat you bought last year is holding up pretty well.
Great video and congratulations with your Vikings 😎 best of luck up there
It would be pretty funny if you forgot to set the park brake while you were loading corn into it and the truck took off into the field. LMAO right Zach LoL
Man i really like the time lapses!!!!! Keep em going! I also really like the hauling videos, they are super interesting!
Load the wagon until the mud flaps are draggin.
Good to wash the salt/deicers off to keep the corrosion limited. Helps limiting the corrosion in the wiring.
GREAT PRODUCT FOR CORROSION PREVENTION IS "CORROSION BLOCK" BEST PRODUCT FOR WIRING AND THREADED ITEMS.
Love your videos
More check ins with Randy!!!
I couldn't tell how the meeting went. were they pissed or was it just a lot of talking crap?
I think they were full of crap. Luckily, the crap did not hit the fan.
Seems like a shitty meeting to go to
Well as long as there were free pink cakes all is good
I laughed so hard at your comment I got Diarrhea. My meeting still going on . 😂
Hoping he was at least able to get the necessary paper work done!
Glad to see a new video up!
You ever think about one of those air weight scales in your trucks runs off the air bag pressures
“No beaches have been closed by an ethanol spill.”😂😂😂
When our solar system has a huge energy spill, we just call it a nice sunny day...
Sadly the ethanol program is farmers welfare check.
@@altonriggs2352 ethanol hasn't had a single subsidy since 2012. The oil industry can't say that
@@altonriggs2352 you might serve yourself well to make sure you know what you're talking about before letting those fingers go wild on the keyboard. Wouldn't want to see you look like an idiot.
@@MillennialFarmer Actually, the entire corn ethanol industry is a big welfare program. The entire industry relies on govt guarantees essentially.
Just drive slow and easy ! I learned that yrs ago driving semi !
Hey Zach! You should have knocked all the ice off before you scaled out and “added” a few pounds lol
Great video , I like these videos when you talking and doing work around the farm than ur other videos when ur at other places. I been following you for a very long time .
I love the WFE hat!
Every little helps, squeezing a few drops out before the out scale :)
I love the's videos and your song
Love your scence of humor
Great video!Go Vikings!
Lucas, I used to pull three trailers at 105,500 soooo, neener neener!
Renewable clean energy !! Yeah baby !! I worked on cars, trucks, machines professionally for 35 years....in New England. Every day during winter, when I lifted vehicles on the lift and worked on them...The snow, salt, slush like on your trucks, would drip into my eyes, ears, down my back !..down my sleeves !! I was soaking wet every day !! Do that every day for decades...It really sucked !! I want a re-boot !! I got ripped off in life !! Stupid choices..I have made.
Hay Zach great to see you again 🍻🍻🍻🍻
That 2 days of rain in winter did wonders for the roads.
Dirty C C Corn......Those roads seem schloppy.......maybe even moist???? glad to see your still have something to do even in the winter.
