Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I want to see more of Dad. He is my favorite character on this show.
My son and I enjoy your videos. Hope to see you at the Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY.
I am South African and im watching your videos Awesome man!
HI , Happy Thanks giving to all
man, Your weather may be cold, but Ms. MF makes any day much brighter. A beautiful woman who brings food and pitches in with farm work is a true blessing. Both my parents came from farms. Your videos remind me of the time on my family's farms. That time on farms kept me going, when living near the city got very nasty. God Bless you all..
Wow, what a hard but rewarding life. This video really shows just how many hours are required to run a farm. Thanks for sharing.
Jim Zoesch haha Try a vegetable farm... same thing except you don’t have machines that harvest veggies Back breaking labor manually by body 🤘
John Salcido I hear that, wry tough. Love your vegetables. Eat them everyday. Thanks for working hard to keep feeding the world.
Lived in suburbia all my life. You probably hear this quite a bit, but your videos really make me appreciate all the work that goes into farming and the food chain in America that benefits everyone. I've shown some of your videos to my young daughters because I want them to understand how hard farmers work and that the food on the table doesn't get there by magic.
Thanks for your videos and all you do! 😊
It is amazing to see what the modern farming work is done on a day to day basis. I'm from West Washington at this time. It's awesome to see and hear you explain the different jobs you do Zachary, as my grandpa would say a farmers job is never done. Your doing a Great job by having your family work along with you. Still would like to see your mother as 7she is also a farm wife and is part of this Farm.
Always run taper roller bearing arrangements loose unless it is a precision deal like a differential and has very good lubrication and cooling. The very way they work, when they get a load on them they run nicely
Congratulations on getting harvest completed without too many dramas, plus a couple of nice toys S780 and Lexion to play with. Now we need a tillage thaw to cap it off!
I love how casually ana looks at you in the intro
Hearing the combine rev to full power at 5:45 was beautiful
The actor playing you is hilarious. Worried about that german Shepard. She’s a bit careless.
Thanks for all you do! Im 57, farm raised, living in downtown Rochester, Mn. Stepped into a prominent drug store here in downtown Mayo Clinic one day in search of an Old Farmers Almanac. Knew they stocked them only to hear from the patriarch of the establishment. "Sent them back- wouldnt sell in this store- no farmers round here" Had to laugh. Told the fella Sir, I disagree. Im looking at a farmet right in front of me...How so he replied... You sir are a farmer. Every day you show up to farm the general public for your livelihood. In a way we all are farmers......We had a good chuckle over it!!!
Your videos like this with harvesting yields and all the different types of seed are very educational about the trade all you videos are full of information combining had always had my interest.
Frozen ground, is notoriously hard on tillage equipment, my friend.
I so enjoy the interaction with dogs, equipment and technical conversations about corn hybrids. my favorite youtube channel!
Zack up here northeast of you were all finished up for the season . Now feed cattle and hope next year is better. I here there a lot of problems going up north west of you and into north Dakota . Many guys really got hammered this year. We hope everybody stays warm and safe this winter. Take care
Glad to see you can get the back in the fields again. I know tillage is very important for you guys in the fall. It allows the ground to warm up faster. Here Comes 2020 planting season
Feels good to watch u after a long day of tillage and crop destruct 👍 19 yr old operator here 🤙🏾
Love the black soil... far cry from our gravel and sands here in Wisconsin!! Keep up the awesome videos!
That's a pretty cool shot at 6:23
Even got a "Farmhand Mike video auger unload shot" splitting the combine and cart! 👍👍
Im a city slicker and im hooked on this channel. I had no idea how high tech farming is. I haven't talked to my wife in weeks because im a RUclips farmer now
The most Millennial moment ever..."I'm in a wet spot and could get stuck, I better take a video of it!"
🤣🤣 truth.
I did the math just from close friends and family of mine have used your code to become a FBN member 34 people signed up.
Hopefully you will be able to get the tillage complete without too many issues. Plus hope the harvest is very good. Have a great night and weekend. Ready for the next video. Bless you all.
Well Done! Your Dad......enjoy him!
I’m a 25 year math-teacher from Long Island, NY. Never farmed but wish I could!
The correct way to adjust the We’ll bearing you can tighten it down with a wrench back it off and then hand tighten it
I watched you put that wheel on and looked like you got it too tight. We tighten it down then back it off and turn the nut in until you have taken all the end play out of the bearings while still free spinning.
This guy has good videos! A natural
Mt. Dew the elixir of life.
Your Dad seems to be much more comfortable in front of the camera these days!!
You can buy level transmitters for the tanks. That would save you from climbing up every time.
Dad just joined fbn he says they offer many options for farmers. We just ordered our soybean seed for 1800 acres for next year at a nice discount. Thank you for introducing them to my family through your chanel. I have been chisel plowing with our bigbud hn 250 the ground is frozen in some areas here in michigan as well. Stay safe and harvest on my friend !
Tillage is what I always send people who want to be helpful but usually just end up getting in the way to do. I call it busy work far away from me harvesting. 😉
I'm surrounded by beautiful green equipment... And Todd!!! Lol
I as a mechanic have a recommendation on loosening wheel bearing nuts. If you believe that you installed it correctly the first time, then only back it off a 1/8th of a turn. By going a 1/4 you could be actually over loosening that could cause more damage than being over tight.
Stay safe out there, I hear there are some crazies putting chains on corn stalks out in western MN so keep your eyes open.
Thank you for getting a train in today's vlog.
You need to borrow one of Welkers Big Buds to pull the tillidge implement, 4-5 of them at a time in order to get done before winter...
It's amazing that you have to dry all your corn down, only to ship it to the ethanol plant, where they mix it with water to make the mash. All that propane !
@Ken Hofer BS. The first thing you do is crack the corn and mix it with water to make the mash.
Thanks for doing the videos. As a new farmer I love to watch the professionals. I was reading a news article about a small family farm in distress. Having trouble paying bills with the low price of commodities and stuff. I am a city farmer and get what I ask usually. That farm had a go fund me so gave a donation. I guess there are plenty of farms like this. Just wanted to see if you would want to raise some awareness and if there where some good places to send a donation thanks
Starting watching this year. My new favorite channel. I'm not a farmer myself but this is hella interesting and i'm learning new things every video. Keep it up.
What a wonderful show Would never miss a post From New Zealand we love you Millennial Farmer
Bad tillage in the fall is better than great tillage in the spring !
Again thanks for the effort boys!
Hi Zach, nice to hear your closing in on finishing the corn. Navigating between freezing and thawing has to be a challenge. Continued best wishes. - Dean from Edina
So far our 105 day corn has done better than our 108 and 111 day corn. We do have a powerhouse 109 day corn that is holding its own. We were just way too dry this year in Indiana.
Great to see you in the field doing some tillage work.
I’m hooked on this channel and I am as city boy as they come! From Compton, California who would have thought!🤷🏽♂️😂😂
Zach, I hope that was a beer you was pulling out of the fridge 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Is that a whole bunch of cab corn Dad has going at the beginning of the video? Yup sure is.
Glad to see you never play cheesy stock music or over saturate (slow motion) fx with your videos. Never change!!
Those seed checks definitely sting a little especially when you’re not done harvesting yet
Finished tillage last night before the rain and snow!!!!
I miss the old sounds of the 97 series combines :-) great machines
Could you put a string with a tennis ball that runs from the ground to the top and then into the grain bin? You would keep the ball at the top and then drop it down to see the height of the grain when the string gets slack. Just a thought. Love the channel
The millennial farm must only get about 4 hours of sleep a night! Love the videos...glad some people have a passion for farming! Because I couldn’t do it!
Couldn't you get one of those "Echo" things and just say "Alexa, shut off the grain dryer"? If I was a millennial I'd figure out how to do that :)
If you were a millenial, youd PAY SOMEONE ELSE to figure it out....😂😂😂
That is funny
that jim is a good man
Cold roast pork sandwiches with mayo, mustad s&p, maybe lettuce, the best!
Those cobs bouncing around on that header :)
Way to go Zack on those bearings
Good morning from Australia we need some of you moisture over very bad drought.
385,000 people can now run the farm if Zack goes on vacation, SMART MAN!
Always a task to complete
Todd has great taste in vehicles
I love that Senior is doing his notes and observations, equations on the paper with pen. Proper man, not a millenial computer crap :-)
That paper and pen detail ability is one reason Nathan Johnson became a successful farmer, along with a lot of hard work and dedication. Awesome guy!
@@lonepine5596 amen! Bless him and his family, hardworking folks as well.
Might want to look into the type of wheel bearing grease for your frozen conditions.
Anyone else who said "Thunder" out loud when the fueltrailer rolled by and Zack didn't say anything?
xXDrSnugglesXx I was thinking the same thing 🤣
He's off his game! It's all those damn hybrids sapping his thunder mojo!
He also didn't say mornin
fact
xXDrSnugglesXx I say thunder now randomly on a daily basis now. Thanks Zach.
I enjoy this even though I don't farm. I grew up on a farm a long time ago. The farmers of that era would be totally aghast at what goes on today.
Zach, have you considered adding level alert indicators to those bins? Saves a lot of ladder climbing.
the same train runs right past my house too. just a little to the south east of you. Kimball Minnesota
16:03 stand verrrry still....nice shot.
There's a train at 8:02...and it's REDDDDD!!
I still think Zach needs a yellow hat that looks like corn on a cobb, have cab corn on the front and his logo on the side and on the other side have an American Flag and on the back he can have off the husk, he can sell them plus every time he does get cab corn he can give one away to viewers
Just get one of those Nebraska cornhusker hats that look like an ear of corn
Yeah, we plant but we don’t harvest. We use our seed to attract deer and other stuff. But we disc and plant. Mainly we plant oats and other stuff
Looks moist
it would be amazing if you where on drinkin bros just to listen to you and ross go back and forth
We didn’t get our “mornin” 😢
*wails AGAIN!!!
Dangit guys, I'm sorry. I'll try to do better next time...
@@MillennialFarmer *poke* *poke* You OK?
👍👍👍 greetings from Germany Nice job 👋👋👋
We just finished harvest down here in Indiana
What kind of chemical does FBN have for my turf crops?
Zach, wouldn't it be handy if the bin had a sight glass type of system for fullness. In this day in age an inside the bin sensor seems pretty doable and bluetooth. Remember you heard it here first....
Zach, you need to finish up that Summer Shandy in your fridge before it gets skunky.
Might want to check out the new 2730’s, they changed the tire style due to that sliding issue in the mud.
I don't farm also shure like these videos though.👍
Awesome video!!! GREAT WORK KEEP IT UP.
I am about 60 miles south and I do not farm but live on my dads farm. Like watching you videos. and was wondering how much land do you run. And also would like to come to your farm someday
"I'm surrounded by beautiful green equipment.... and Todd." lol
Greetings from Romania
How about a vlog on how to tell the difference between the different corns!
my friend lives in Mankato MN, he says ''there is a sandwich in every can of beer'' lol
Hey. Cereal grains, malt... It's like stopping by the drive thru.
Pork chop in a can
I’ll help ya out Zach. 1/2 price seed at only a 4 bushel deficit is a very good deal.
What a race car driver
''Last 80 acres'' Thats about a good sized farm in overall in my place lol
Fellow tillageman! Lol!
Watching till videos while tilling!! WTH is WRONG WITH ME??
Keep on keeping on!, and thanks for the vid!!!
2:24- Hey Zach I know you didn’t get that 40 dollars or so from farming, what kinda late night activities are you doing to get that kinda dough?
Glad I wasn't the only one to see that. That's his lunch money 😂
