He was more than abusive and was violent. He could have injured his mother who was in a defenceless condition and could have suffered more serious injury. The paramedic also was smashed up against the car and injured himself. It was a disgusting act. That whole incident should be 10 years minimum in jail.

He wouldn't stop, he wouldn't leave voluntarily, and that Ambulance is private property. The patients safety is the only priority, and they are LEGALLY allowed to remove persons as safely and respectfully as possible. He wasn't even throwing hands or grabbing at clothes, he was guiding dude out without being violent and dude was getting more and more heated. That is NOT self defense, that is battery and even trespassing if he refused to leave an Ambulance he was no longer allowed to be on.

Including you must keep in mind in situations with injuries more stress to the patient could cause elevated Heart rate and more problems than good as EMS you need to keep control of the scene asking the person to leave the Box was the best thing he could of done as they started elevating his tone. Juan Renteris that is the national average in most places a paramedic makes 40-45k. Not all of these guys are paramedics either they are just EMTs which start off even lower at anywhere from 12-16 and hour.

I work in EMS and I couldn't tell you how many times I've been assaulted by someone's mom, son, brother, dad, etc. I've been punched, pepper-sprayed, I even had a gun pulled on me once. I'm not justifying this behavior in any shape or form, but seeing your loved ones in an injured state can really make someone that's usually very calm become defensive.

If you guys watched closely Ted didn’t assault him , he was trying to talk to him and calm him down but that guy was so upset that he didn’t care and pushed ted that’s when things started getting aggressive and they had to pull him out of the ambulance . No assault, the guy just didn’t like to be told what to do .. smh .. they were helping his mom he was out of line . I get he was upset that his mom got into a car accident and was worried but no need to be aggressive . Just step out and take a breath . She will be okay , they are professionals they know what they are doing

I love how a lot of people are complaining about him smoking. Everyone knows what can kill them. A lot of us do it to relieve stress after what we see. We also are heavy drinkers when we go out.

My stepdaughter is an EMT with a black belt. Her boss was very clear that she is allowed to protect herself and her crew. She has had to use it already, and hasn't worked a full year yet.
EMT here! We do get assaulted regularly in some parts of the country. Alot of places that are high in crime don't like people in uniform. They think we're going to snitch on them or work with the police.

That's why you make sure to grab it by the regulator, not gonna get the tank outta your hands if they got nothing to grab onto! Toughbook also works well, but more expensive to replace!
I've been attacked on the job as a Paramedic multiple times. This got me choked up knowing that when I had to hit my Emergency Button as I was being grabbed and wrestled with, that the whole world was coming. Probably took maybe 4 minutes for the first assist to arrive, but dear God, it felt like 4 years!
This unfortunately happens a lot more than we think. My dad was a firefighter & EMT for years. He obviously got hurt being a firefighter, but not as much as being an EMT. Accidents are high stress situations & some people just don’t handle it well, so they just take it out on whoever is closest , which unfortunately is most likely going to be a first responder.

That's why you make sure to grab it by the regulator, not gonna get the tank outta your hands if they got nothing to grab onto! Toughbook also works well, but more expensive to replace!

I've been attacked on the job as a Paramedic multiple times. This got me choked up knowing that when I had to hit my Emergency Button as I was being grabbed and wrestled with, that the whole world was coming. Probably took maybe 4 minutes for the first assist to arrive, but dear God, it felt like 4 years!

This unfortunately happens a lot more than we think. My dad was a firefighter & EMT for years. He obviously got hurt being a firefighter, but not as much as being an EMT. Accidents are high stress situations & some people just don’t handle it well, so they just take it out on whoever is closest , which unfortunately is most likely going to be a first responder.
