Exactly. It’s great that he was chill about it, but people are acting like it’d be bad if he wasn’t.

@KimzEsther Exactly. It makes us look bad, too. As sad as it is, the average fans do a horrible job at making themselves known as a majority, which is why everyone thinks that we’re toxic (it’s reasonable to think this way if that’s what they’ve seen, we can’t blame it ALL on the toxic stans until we do something ourselves). The delusional fans absolutely screw up our reputation, and I really think we need to find a way to prove ourselves to be a majority (as quickly as possible). For now, we’re gonna be known as toxic until we do something, ngl.
Honestly this is what I think of this video and the comments. He didn't know about it so technically it's plagiarizing, "sampling" is when you have permission. I'm not gonna blame the girls of course, but this dude has every right to be mad at the producer and company for this.
Please google the difference between sampling and plagiarism...
He's really cool about it, but why are people saying that he's "lucky"? To receive no credit for something he worked on? Sampling isn't illegal but only with permission, which I doubt they got it from the original source if they ripped that part from his remake. I like gfriend but people should hold these kpop companies and producers responsible. I can count 5 that I know of these "sampled" tracks from releases in the past year.
id say hes lucky because thats some really good exposure. possibly opens up some networking stuff and Gfriends company is the same one that owns bts so that means they could consider him for a collab in the future.

@@투루-l3e exactly, and honestly I would place blame on their agency but no one is going to take responsibility
Now this real question is, is this an achievement or a new low?
Yes.
We have achieved a new low
new achievement low
@Clinical Depression Yes and no, pop is a whole genre, different korean groups (or more accurately companies and related producers) have their own style that get more popular and bigger and represent that group/groups, companies, etc... While there is not a formula for "Kpop", there is a "formula" for making a more modern style EXO/NCT style of track, more typical of SM or something more BTS like for example... Pop doesn't have a formula to begin with, you can have many variants of it, and popular pop in Korea is many times very different from what is popular pop in the US for example, for very reasons. It's a very complicated topic to be honest, yes, kpop is just pop, it's not exactly the same pop you hear on American radio though and it tends to have distinct features. Also, music isn't just the samples and the synths, if we were to go into detail we could write a 500 page book and still have room for a lot more to talk about, and we'd have to ignore certain common aspects and considerations about music so we could really start to get to the essence of it (like how you divide music by genres, and why that is both very good and awful, both between genres and in themselves)...
a new low because youtube probably thinks he stole it
He’s actually really sweet about it and he didn’t hate on them at all🥺🥺
I still take pride in my comment “this could use some memes” during the live stream.
I want my royalties.
You sir, are a living legend.
Kinda sucks that your comment section somehow still has people joking/using this as fodder to validate their dislike of kpop,
but as a fan of this group the songs producers feel slightly fraudulent when you portray the tracks this way, but listening to both in full I know there are clear differences in the songs/you affirmed that in your video as well. Similarly to how Rappers can sample other music in a gray-area that’s validated by fans
Still funny to hear the meme sound bits from your track! I enjoyed this video but am frustrated by dumb comments Ik can be jokes bc this is probably my favorite B-Side from the album this was on!
Yes, but sampling is usually illegal if it's not cleared. They clearly didn't approach the guy, and most likely didn't approach the creator of the original and even though he doesn't have rights to the song, he probably does have rights to the exact instruments he used.
GamingOS tbh I don’t have a rigorous grasp over copyright laws so I can’t deny/agree any of your point, but if you’ve done your own rigorous research to make sure you’re not wrong I’ll take your word for it.
One thing you might want to reconsider is if he’d even have prepared the legal work to own the instruments or parts of the song he made himself/if he can even own the things you say he should.
But my point was more about being disappointed in people making comments about disliking kpop because of this sampling. Even in cases where rappers get copyrighted for their sampling like JUICEWRLD’s Lucid Dreams, I don’t see people hate on the rapper for sampling illegally, people just enjoy the song. I just dislike the double standard held to Kpop music, when scrutiny is motivated by people disliking kpop before considering the song, while other forms of music can do the same thing and be validated by everyone.
GamingOS Is sampling illegal without getting direct clearance from the original creator? I was always under the impression that sampling was okay as long as you gave credit, but I could be completely wrong.
@@abigaildelaney7653 I think it'd different in this case because he made a remix he has no rights too and not an original song? Like almost none of the elements in the remix he owns so anyone can use those same elements and not have to credit him. Especially foreign producers like Mio who probably didn't know who he was since there's multiple video hosting sites people use over there and audio files tend to drift.

actually I am glad to know that you're the man behind Gfriend's epic songs
OK but rip gfriend 😔
ok but im glad i finally clicked on this video bc i absolutely adore pixel galaxy it's a whole bop and now im gonna watch your remake
at least gfriend fans are pretty chill lmao
Yes, we love an orbit with hi high in the username
shreya shreya they still chiller than most
I’m tryna get some sleep so I can stream their upcoming song now that I saw your username......
@shreya shreya most buddies are just trying to preventing the cyberbullying of Gfriend, so I don't really know what you mean
Maybe it wasn't true for the beginning, but it's true now.
im a buddy and i didnt know this- ahhh those producers... istg...😭😭😭
I’m just waiting for him to stan GFRIEND after this lmao 😂
Wah..that instrumental is partially composed by you!??!?!Wow..you're talented....The producer should have credited a bit honestly..Instead of just taking others' piece..All thanks to you..GFRIEND's Sweety exists~
Oh, wow, this is exactly what remix culture is about. A remix of a remix, both of them so far from the originals that they are objectively their own works of art.
I think we have achieved meme fusion!
Still illegal tho
from a masterpiece became even much more of a ✨masterpiece✨
I also noticed it when the song came out I was like “this track seems familiar”
(I watched the livestream that’s why I knew. Also a fan of Gfriend)
bullshit lol.

@@fanboyioi4441 there is no argument. Also there is nothing to argue about...the guy didnt even think gfriend did anything till he tricked himself overthinking it forcefully.
No problems with sampling , some are great, but I think this one is the producer being lazy
this is stolen bruh
@@dimasadi9852 nah, sampling is something common

Theres a difference between sampling and taking a whole track
@@suptho808 I mean you could go ahead and see how other producers sample songs that sound the same (i.e) Yung Gravy
dylan, u should collab with LOONA. they r the best group in the universe and have transcended humanity.
☹
okay em dylan , STAN GFRIEND .
i stan GFriend that's how i got here and i'm not surprised this happens a lot in kpop
its funny because i actually really do love gfriend so this was so funny to watch. im glad you have such a mature outlook on it! i can never listen to the song again w/o hearing the meme samples, LOVE IT
Gfriend is big! Navillera is my fav from them. nice!
considering it's GFRIEND i see this as an absolute win
Yeahh, no.
@@theviscount4622 You're mad
literally no one knows it's him unless they watch this video, and he's not being given any credit for it. it's really cool, but it also really doesn't benefit him at all.
Elijah Johnson uhhh not really, I could be ghandi for all I care but if i spend my time and efforr into making something I expect credit at the least
nah. i’m a pretty hardcore k-pop fan, but I find it kinda sad that not a lot of people know this guy for the parts that were sampled from him.
“BTS you want some of this too?” 😂😂
dylan, stan gfriend their songs are really good dude i vouch for them 100%
Ok summerbuddies ok boomer

Ok sorry
Zoomer then?
"Their" song... sure. I think you mean Snail House's/Dylan's song.
Wait this is literally one of my favourite kpop songs HAHAHAHA
I've always loved Sweety by GFIREND, and now that I know it's inspired by you, I want to thank you! Thanks to you, such a cute song was created!🥰
You actually took this so much better than I thought, thank you for that! Also I'm sorry if you felt in any way bad about this! You can check out GFRIEND's music and sample it for something 😄
Also, I have to add that Sweety has been an all time favourite of mine!
in conclusion: he’s a nice guy😍😍
Omg i respect you so much your so chill and openminded
Big Hit(Who owns BTS and TXT)owns Source Music who owns Gfriend. The girls are not the the ones making the music, they just sing. Its like that with all kpop groups. I know people are thinking "wow another reason to hate kpop and all the groups". Thats understandable, but I dont think its fair to blame Gfriend, when its the company's fault for copying.
There's another case with Red Velvet or another girl group where they had outfits from a clothing brand and claimed it as their own or didn't give credit to that brand. There is a lot of copying, but its like that with all music industries, so its not just kpop. There is also a lot of original music and talent in kpop even though theres a few cases of copying, and that's all I'm trying to say. Its kinda sad that such a popular group from such a big company is plagiarizing.
Ok, i agree with this
Please note that this song was released far before Gfriend & SourceMusic were acquired by BigHit. This is the fault of SourceMusic’s producer, and if the producer did it without company knowledge than it’s solely the fault of said producer.
@@atthepartycheers wow he said fvck Gfriend despite them being under BH now. Its also their concern bow

Well tbh this is one of my favorite bsides of them so ty very much
Sweety was composed by MIO, a vocal/producing team under the company. They've done a few of Gfriend's songs so I honestly don't really think it intended to take so the comment section can chill. They did more effort in making it unique and stand on it's own, nothing really wrong there
+ Sweety is a btrack from a year old summer album, it's kind of pointless
