My son is gay, I can not imagine going through the process of HIS life publicly. He was in his early 30's when he told me what I already knew. I never said anything to him because it was so personal & part of me didn't want to say anything because what if I was wrong. When he finally told me, he was crying and it was very hard for him to say it. Honestly, I thought he had cancer or something fatal by the way he struggled to tell me. Can you imagine being in your 30's, and going through your life afraid to be judged by your mom?. Anyway, after he told me I wanted to talk about why he waited so long to tell me, but he said "you"re making this about you, and it's about me".. wow, hit me like a ton of bricks. I said "ok, that's fair, but when you find someone you love, they're always welcome here".. He went on to "come out".. to his dad, brother and friends, and everyone accepted him. He found someone that he loves and seems to be happy. Nothing has changed, he's still a great son & a royal pain in my ass at times. Life is a process certainly, but going through your life without love and encouragement to just "be" has to hell. I think Cher did the best she could & Chaz did the best he could. In the end it's about your child feeling loved. Chaz certainly is loved, so that's not bad, it's good. He seems like a good man & any parent would be proud of him as I'm sure Cher is..

my mother also made me move out of the house when she find found out I was going to women's bars to go to my dad's and I was the same age as chastity it's rather funny that you should be punished for being gay something that you just naturally are kicking a child out of the house doesn't stop the child from being what they are at any rate just like with Chastity's mom my mom got used to it and then the years went by unlike Chastity though I did not have a sex change

You have to take into consideration that we were born in imperfect bodies--bodies that often don't mesh with how we feel or what we want. Someone born with a deformity, mental impairment, disability, etc. Chaz didn't feel right in his body so he changed it so he could feel happier and more comfortable.
