Alex, I’m so sorry you couldn’t manage to get the car problem free before the wedding. I’m sure your sister will just be happy that you’re there no matter what car you’re in. Alex, It appeared in the video that you had a warning that the bonnet was open, the car will not go into any gear if this is the case. Try resolving this warning on the dash and that may solve your gear selection issue. The car does not have the F1 system but a DCT gearbox so there is no pump to prime etc as per the 430 360 etc, I feel you are going down the wrong avenue in perusing this as a reason why it won’t go into gear. I hope this may help..
Hi there, I think you’re absolutely right there and I was very much talking in the moment but looking at other times I’ve had the car running in previous videos, there hasn’t been a bonnet open warning. I do have it closed so suspect there’s one more bad wire to repair!
Its kind of fun to watch you make the same mistakes i did as a kid….like drilling something while holding it in your hand….eventually you WILL learn how much it hurts to drill into your hand and adopt a better technique….😁
@itsalexbaldwin fair enough, I used a heat gun in the past - probably too close to the other wires for that but apparently a hair dryer can get them hot enough to melt the solder and heat shrink. Not sure if you knew that or not or they was left loose for abit of youtube drama 😉 Anyway, good luck with future builds, I do and don't envy you doing this 👍
Yeah heat gun would be a good idea to invest in too and I have always wondered about using my girlfriend’s hairdryer 😂 Left loose due to lack of confidence and not wanting to burn all the other wires! All sorted now though. Haha honestly I do love it even if Italian electronics can be somewhat testing! Collecting a new build tomorrow hopefully 🚗💨

Yeah it was a real shame in the end as it was so agonisingly close! The roads down in Somerset weren't great though, so it was perhaps for the best!

Hahaha perhaps better to hold it with my foot and drill through a toe?! Or get a bench with a vice...
What heat source did you use on the solder seals?
Hi James - my friend ending up coming and doing it professionally and he just used a lighter to shrink the solder seals. Thanks for watching!

Many of the other marks look like they would have been caused by Copart moving the car around using forklifts. They are not careful.
