With a price so low, there had to be some major compromise, and I’ve spent the past couple of weeks trying to find it, so here’s what I’ve found.

metro is an amazing service it's cheap and I get signal literally almost anywhere. subways, airport + runway, middle of nowhere, it's endless metro is so underrated it's fucking incredible

Pretty good. I would say the only thing about this phone I'm not impressed with is the front facing camera. Both the regular camera and front facing camera are slightly washed out and a bit more blue toned, but the regular camera has adjustable settings to amend that. If anything, between the two, the front facing camera is 'worse' as it sharpens images toooo much. However, personally I don't care much for taking photos. As long as they're decent. To me, the most important thing is storage (last phone I had was an HTC Desire 626s - DO NOT GET THIS PHONE - and it ran out of storage FAST) and the ZTE Zmax Pro definitely fulfills that. Add an SD card to that, and you've got a shit tonne of space.

I ended up getting the phone. So far I have to say it's the best phone I ever had. Mostly because it lasts all day on a single charge. Big Full HD screen is just fine even tho it is blue toned. Both cameras are excellent to me. Only problem I noticed after disabling the Google App when restarting the phone it'll get stuck on the metro pcs screen. Literally stuck. So I had to factory reset my phone a couple times before finding the problem. Also the video player sucks compared to others. Idk what it is exactly, but the brightness or contrast fluctuates when watching movies or videos. But I can live with it.

It does have fast charging they don't promote it but it charges way faster then my stylo 2
Agreed. Either charge with provided AC adapter or with USB 3.0 port if you don't have a -C port.

the only fatal flaw is this reviewers stupidity and arrogance. also this phone on the metro unlimited plan is unbeatable. metros 4g lte is ridonkulous fast!

This seems like a biased review. i just had and broke my samsung galaxy s6 edge plus and this phone is a very good replacement. the screen is a amazing size. It may not day fast charge but it charges really fast. I never had Metro service before but it works as good as T-Mobile. For $99 this phone is a must buy.

PMac ice unlike T-Mobile after a certain amount of high-speed data you use you can slow down to 2G speeds. You don't have that issue on T-Mobile is 4G LTE speeds no matter how much data you use. So like I said it's not better than T-Mobile.

Awesome video, really helpful. I usually don't comment on videos like this, but it's so nice to have a review video by someone with a calming voice for once. Most phone reviews I have found are by people who talk too fast, have high-pitched annoying voices, or just sound like a stuck up know-it-all.
I have this phone when I play games on it the screen starts flashing colors together on the top of the screen. I changed the phone under factory warranty and still does the same thing what do you guys think I should do is really frustrating

I have two of the ZTE max pro. The only things i have problems with are charging, and I can't block calls. I thought I had it when I bought the phone 2 years ago, where, thanks to a hacker, call block and accessibility have been removed and I don't know how to retrieve them. Can you please tell me. I've gotten call block apps, but they don't really work. They block numbers I want to keep, and keep numbers I want to block.
I was tired of my small screen phone so I wanted to upgrade to one with a much bigger screen. The MetroPcs guy showed me this one and I like it right away. I have had it now for 6 months and have had no problems from it at all. I love everything about it. The only fault in my area isn't the phone, but T-mobile's coverage in a few areas around my usual area aren't as good as some of the "other companies", but other than that, the ZTE Max Pro is a great phone and at a very great price too. Buy it! You will not be disappointed!

Reason is: after 90 days with metro pcs you are eligible to factory unlock your device for free. And you will be able to use on any carrier you like. So actually thats a perk in my eyes that metro pcs offers free unlock after 90 days..

I purchased this phone in February 2017, by March the home and the back buttons froze. The phone constantly reboots, and I can't receive notifications. Did a factory reset and it worked fine for a couple of days and now as of June 2017, again the home and back buttons have froze, the phone constantly reboots, and I can't receive notifications. Trying to get MetroPCS to assist me with this problem has been a nightmare. Even with insurance they are trying not to replace it. All they're telling me is that I am due for an upgrade, which of course means I would be shelling out more bucks for another phone. How's that for a flaw, or in my case, flaws...
Thanks for the bid. I've had the first edition Zmax for about a year now and I gotta say. This thing is indestructible. Zero protection at all and its been dropped in a pool and drop of a roof twice on to a driveway, once was left on my rear bumper and met the pavement at 15 mph over a speed bump, and countless times off my lap while getting out of the car, and its still going!
The only thing wrong is I have to slap it in my palm from time to time due to the speaker being loose so I'm really considering one of these.

I love the ZTE Zmax Pro. It's awesome. I had my phone for about 3 weeks and I love it. Can't put it down.
I purchased this phone and became a Metro PCS customer, let me tell you something amazing upload speeds compared to my previous carrier amazing charging speeds the other features of this phone are great as well.
just got mine today since I lost my Alcatel fierce XL during a night out. So far this phone is amazing for the price it has a MUCH better screen than the fierce XL and is a lot snapier and smooth. I had a Nexus 6p but rma d it due to the bend issue near the power button, so this will do. Phones are basically disposable and I don't think anyone should pay more than a few hundred bucks for. They keep getting cheaper and better, so save money until that perfect one comes out.

Okay so I'm here years later...I now had my ZTE Zmax Pro phone for over 3years. I've taken very good care of it. No cracks period. It's been great. I love my phone. But just recently the bAttery has been draining super fast . 100% only lasts 5 min. I can not take it anywhere anymore. Any one have any thoughts on why? I went to Metro and the rep said they no longer sell the phone. It's now out of country. And that they had bad complaints on it. So she offered me another phone to purchase (of course). I mean doesn't my insurance cover anything? If they no longer offer the phone, why am I paying insurance on it still? Anyone have thoughts on this?

I bought the ZTE Max Duo ll from Walmart 7/4/2017 with straight talk service.....I love straight talk....... So far phone is very good especially since I can watch my Google chromecase from phone to TV....

I have this phone and it is awesome! Don't listen to this phone snob talking down about it. For the price and specs it is untouchable. The only downside is finding one. it sold out online in like 5 hours and alot of metro pcs stores I called were already sold out before that so i was lucky enough to snag one.
I was actually looking to upgrade from LG G Stylo 1 to Stylo 2 when I inquired about a comparable phone (no specs lost) and ZTE PRO MAX was recommended.
because I had never heard of ZTE I was very skeptical especially when I looked at their other phones in store.
and this phablet made me a believer in ZTE.
BY FAR this was/is a great purchase spec for spec...and some.
Stylo is a good phone too but ZTE impressed me with this product...and made a mid level phablet to compete strongly with other similarly priced and spec'd devices.
after this phablet, I don't think I could ever go back to a smaller screen. plus people on the street always ask me, "Is that an iPhone?" which is a huge compliment.

bought Sept 4 2016 had the zmax ZTE. the pro doesn't stay charged as long used to go a whole day on my ZTE without charging it but this one dies by 5 o'clock in the afternoon my ZTE last until the night so the phone charges not as good also this phone died on me and I couldn't get it to come back on for quite a while so I don't know what was going on and another time it got super hot and then went away so I'm going to look to see what's going on I like the Max way better
Just got mine in store today for $40! 100 instant rebate plus $60 port in credit. Well worth the $40 price tag and was able to get my wife the same deal so 2 new phones plus $40 plans came out to 170 ish with tax out the door

I have this cellphone and I can tell... more than enough... just great have all my apps running with no problems at all... besides metro pcs got me happy with the service.
i got it on t mobile and im pretty sure it can go with other carriers
But the Zmax pro is also sold at tmobile its not just a metro PCS phone
Had this phone for about two months. And out of nowhere it wouldn't turn back on. The circle kept lighting up as if I had gotten a message, but the screen was unresponsive. Went back to MetroPCS and they informed me that i was the 5th person to come in to that branch alone with the same issue.
TMobile now offers the unlock device app prebuilt into the phone ,so after 3 months of service with TMobile,or metro pcs you have the option of taking your phone to any other carrier which to me is an awesome feture
I like the idea and size, however, can I use it with Google cardboard? The last 2 phones I got were not compatible. Had the ZTE ZMAX and the G Stylo. no Gyroscope in either.
there is a gyroscope if you type in *983*0# it's shows that the phone does have on and you can test it

+gail patton It's the hardware technology within your phone that changes the orientation of the device base on the position you are holding it...and it has other functions as well. It is accompanied but the accelerometer which allows the phone to track your movement. These are two features people really want out of this phone so they can play Pokemon go and the zmax pro has them both.

They still haven't figured out how to do the fingersnsor system. I have one on my Motorala G6 It doesn't work which is fine with me.
