The white fading to silver and then to black is a very nice touch
Made sure to make it more gradual than the 2019 livery. Plus it's all glossy.

Ferrari fan here, that merc livery is the best livery I’ve seen in a while. Looks so classy and I think the red works well on it
2019 (non Hockenheim) is by far their best IMO.

Shocking decision to put it as a ‘mid’, it’s an absolute banger!!
While putting Sauber, Mclaren and Aston in front of it.
Ferrari and RB have a better liveries, but
"carbon rider" Mclaren, "monster" Sauber, and the "same as last year" Aston is not even close to have a better livery.
It's strange how divided people are on this livery.
For me, it's the best livery of the year, and I'd argue it's my favourite Merc livery ever.
I much prefer Tommo's version personally. Too bad the silver (German manufacturer) couldn't blend with Racing Green for factory location and drivers.
I can only see aston and ferrari topping it because their livery are a tad more classic. If i take the shape of the car (especially the sidepod inlet) into consideration as well, the merc takes the crown for me
@RebelRanger2009 i dont see the connection between mercedes and racing green except both being british. btw silver doesnt have anything to do with germany.

I'm so happy you took cues from their 2019 car, its probably their best livery ever IMHO. Can't say i love the teal stripe all the way along the car though, I think it's a bit too bold of a stripe to have. Regardless, I'm loving theae livery redesigns! Keep up the awesome work!

Interesting take. This is one of the best liveries we've had in a few years for me! It's classy and mean looking at the same time and it gives that feeling like the car is moving while standing still, which is exactly what you want from a livery. Like the redesign though!
The real one is absolute BANGER and is little above your redisign but your design is very good as well!!!
Glad Mercedes brought back the silver in the livery - and I don't mind the INEOS red at all, it does work pretty well in their design. Do agree if a bit of silver were added to the front wing, this might have been my favourite livery of all the cars this season.
I like the Tommo version too, the silver fade gradient looks really good, but overall I slightly(just very slightly) prefer the real version. But both liveries are goodies.

Would love to see a behind the scenes of you redesigning one of the liveries! How you brainstorm ideas, source the logos & actually put together the 2D plane and match it up on the 3D model.
You Nailed It on this one! The blue/green stripe is a little too big towards the back, but the rest is total banger! The silver on the front wing would make it really stand out on TV.

1. I think the white-silver-black fade is a really good idea. For the silver-to-black fade I'd reverse the star colour (silver stars into black), and angle it slightly backwards to make it look a little sleeker.
2. The teal stripe being pulled to the back is also interesting. But it's a bit too thicc at the rear, and I'd personally have it follow the shoulders to make it flow better. This would also result in the stripe being closer to where you put them on the rear wing in terms of width. Your flow only really works from the side profile, while following the shoulders would look better from every other angle. I could also see the front stripe be the same as the real car, with a 2nd stripe starting near the back of the Halo maybe and following the shoulders.
2.1 I'd make the teal stripes on the rear wing narrower, they're close to just being blocks of colour.
3. Your rendition of the airbox sucks, I have to be honest. Gives me flashbacks to the 2010 Mercedes engine cover for some reason. I really don't mind the red near the airbox on the real design if done right, it works really well with soft tyres. I'd have the 2023 red outline on the airbox (maybe slightly thicker), and if we're feeling spicy a pinstripe along the sharkfin that leads into the driver number a la Aston Martin.
4. This front wing has the same issue as the Ferrari one, where it just kinda looks like the nose is too long. Is mostly just an issue with this car model though, having a 1st-element nose. I'd still prefer having the 1st 2nd and 3rd elements being painted instead of 2nd 3rd and 4th, but with everyone adopting 2nd-element noses it'd look a little weird probably. If keeping the 2-3-4 design, I'd also change the red INEOS box to a red pinstripe along the front wing, similar to your Ferrari redesign but being closer to the edge and having a small pinstripe on the outside of the endplates too (similar to Aston Martin 2022).

Yessssss.. I love your design of the engine cover. They had that for 2019 and 2020 pre season testing and I think it looked amazing, their best Mercedes livery to date. Massively underrated and nobody mentioned that back then

6:10 I like the return to the origin! (the german livery colour at the time where they all had the colors of the country were it is was constructed was the white!)
Overhaul I really like your design and you are winning this because of the color consistency from grey to black on the back!
Reallly like the quality of your videos this year! The fact you are 'adding' the small design changes you mention while discussing the main livery such as the silver front wing is a very welcome addition to the overall video
Definitely an improvement over the original. Colours much more consistent and like how it goes a bit darker towards the rear. Nice little throwback to the 2019 Mercedes
Only thing I’d change is the teal strips, instead of having them over the engine cover I’d have them inbetween the sidepods and engine cover (under the AMG logo) so they don’t stand out too much over the silver.
Other than that, brilliant redesign
Tommo, love the interim fade on the front wing elements to silver when you were talking about that, and the West overlay! Gives your explanations more depth and seeing the offshoot ideas you have is fascinating. Would love to see more of those semi-redesigns where you change an element or two on the cars
Tommo's Redesign is a absolute masterpiece imo only criticism is the teal lines are quite thick good job Tommo :)
the actual livery looks a lot like the 2022 merc formula e livery, one of the best liveries on the grid in a while

The Mercedes EQ Formula E livery lives on in the W15 with it's silver front and black sides separated by a blue/teal line.

Really like the even brighter front wing and nose! Both the original and the redesign are good! Lovely stuff Tommo! Hard to decide here which one I prefer.. but the even brighter Front of your redesign takes it for me.
The redesign is basically the W10 2019 livery which in my opinion is the prettiest Mercedes livery.
This is the best redesign you made this year imo. Loved it. I would just try do fade the teal stripe to black at the side of the rear wings🧐❤
It'd be cool to see what the official liveries would look like or at least your interpretation of them without the carbon thing ruining them :)

Yes, lovely redesign. Wonderfully done, this is the merc I'd love to see. The teal line is nicely flowing and adds a sense of speed. Love the star patterns. Only missing a red star ;)....? You know, tradition. (ps: I know it's on the air intake inside, but I loved when it was part of one of the stars in the gradient, as then it symbolized "being part of a larger team").
Okay, I LOVE the original. I think they did a nearly perfect job with their car this year. But in all honesty, Im a Merc fan so there might be some biased involved. That said, its still a damn good livery imo and it seems like a lot of others agree. BUT your redesign is the best redesign this year for me. Im an absolute sucker for gradiantes and Ive been dying to see a white Merc. That front tip might be the closest well ever come to seeing a white Mercedes, but even as youve done it, it looks stunning. I wish the black arrived sooner, maybe around where the INEOS red on the box starts, but even then, its still an absolute banger of a redesign. I think you nailed every aspect of it. 10/10 for me and probably my favourite out of both redesigns and originals.

It odd because individually i dont like some of the choices example merc logo in the nose, or even doing the white gradient as well…but as a whole from them profile the redesign looks sick!
I like the use of the merc stars for the gradient tho thasa nice touch. I love the way you have done the teal 👍🏾 cant choose between the two. Like them both alot

I think this is one of the best liveries that you did Tommo, real Banger, the teal stripe going trough driver Numbers makes them pop, i might have chosen to move it trough AMG logo to blend with rear wing better but its a Banger, well done love your way more than Mercs.
The rear perspective shot of the Merc I really like, but the front one I find it really messy. Side profile is decent, front shot is a bit much as well, but okay. I prefer the gradient and the front end on Tommo's more, but I'm not a fan of the stripe at all. I get the idea it just doesn't work for me. So, Tommo's get's the vote, making it 7-1 overall in favour of Tommo designs, with a tie in there. This has been the heaviest weighting in favour of Tommo designs so far. I'm curious to see where you go with the Red Bull this time.

Wow Tommo, that looks really good. I like the actual design better and it's one of the best of the year, I think, but the one you've made is very good.
I love it mateee! It brings me back to years like 2014, 15 or 16. The real livery is one of my favorites and i believe that it has the best of both worlds, the silver and the black, but i need to see this livery you made next year, is awesomeee! The best part is the petronas lines on the front🤝🏻👌🏻

I like the red myself. Especially at the forward or rear 3/4 view its almost a continuous red line across the length of the chassis, and I think that's kind of a cool effect.

I like the real one, I would have it as a mild bang, BUT I think this redesign absolutely SLAPS. I love your redesign series, but this is definitely the best of this year and is one of the best of all time! Any plans for another addition to the "what if ???? joined F1..."?
Absolute banger but the only thing is that i feel like the white portion on Tommo's version pops out a bit less than it should. Maybe bringing it to the starting part of the halo would make its presence more clear.

Putting it out there that the new Mercedes designed livery looks alot like their FE liveries from a few years ago. Love the video as always Tommo.
There are certain elements of your livery that i like a lot, for example the white to silver to black gradient, and the blacked out elements on the front wing, but overall i prefer how the real livery is composed, i think their teal line is nicer and im a big fan of the red ineos intake now that there is more red dotted across the car
Always thought that -stigmatiz- cursed Germany special livery was incomplete, always wondered how a full matte white Merc F1 would look.
I do like the swoosh more on the previous canon iterations, while this probaly looks as McLaren should(also your Stake redesign I don't see it very fit for Stake itself, it's another good-for-McLaren possible blueprint), but your redesign brought back the white, made a better use of Ineos' red and had that Merc's star fading well used, so I voted for yours.
One reason I dont like your redesign over the real one is the appearance of the colors, either you need to play wih the lighting in the render, or use different types of paint, like metallic/matte/gloss and play with it a bit more to give life to that color, it feels a bit lifeless rn. Just compare the silver/crome in original livery to the redesign, its a big difference, and this is also something i have noticed in you other redesigns as well.

I'd like to see Tommo's version but with twice the amount of black in the rear, to fit the bigger and silver stars just like in the original livery, to have them fade into the silver part of the car

Best redesign so far. I like the original but the remake is super nice.
Love the white on the gradient! I'd have put more of a black border (solid or graduated) around the teal to make it pop more against the silver.
Good redesign, little BrawnGP vibes in the nose cone with the white and the green stripes, just a little.
Your best one this year. I’d only change the Ineos on the airbox to the real one and it would be banging.
IMO the original Mercedes is in the banger category, and Tommo's version would look great as a special edition livery!
