Hey guys! Like I said in the video, doing this guide video is a bit of a passion project for me. The goal is for beginners to WoW, Classic, or Paladins to have a comprehensive guide to the early levels for Season of Discovery! So let me know what you think! In any game, not just WoW, everyone has build guides. But it's rare to get someone who explains HOW to play. And the thought process behind the decisions you make during combat. That is the stuff that really makes videos stand out to me.

Especially on retail it sucks as a "new player" to see this, copy it and still have no clue what you are doing actually. Esfand does a great Job on all of his guides.
I used to watch Esfand back when he streamed at a football stadium, dude was just cool and down to earth. I don't follow him much these days, he kinda outgrew what I initially watched him for, but he seems like a good dude so it's good to see him still going.
I like that you give all the options and explain the pros and cons. also, you explain your preference and why you find it to be optimal
I must admit that after watching many guides, this one seems the most understandable and professional. It's obvious that you know the character you're describing. Every skill and talent discussed in every detail. I'll be happy to see more guides
Honestly I was afraid this was a meme and it was gonna say just auto attack harder, but I'm pleasantly surprised that this is a super helpful and complete guide. Keep the pally guides coming! Playing paladin for SOD and cant wait to see more tips and tricks from the #1 ret paladin.

Longtime viewer, lurking generally but had to come out of the woodwork to say I really enjoyed this format. I would love to see this done for other classes. It covers basics but gets into the numbers. Leaning into your expertise and passing on this knowledge, in this format... I love it. Keep it up!
Thanks for this great guide man. I am not new to wow but, it has been a long time since I dipped into Classic and you taught me a lot of things about paladin that I have never considered/heard or read elsewhere. I also really appreciate that you leave it up to us to experiment with.

Definitely like seeing this type of content. Making this a sort of series that starts with this one and then moves forward as we're leveling... Stuff like "I'm 60, what now?" Choosing your role, choosing your professions, deep dive into rotations for each spec and why, your role in dungeons vs raids vs pvp, the sky is the limit

More or less new to WOW and this has been hands down the most helpful SOD class guide I have watched.
Going into a bit of detail regarding the "simpler" stuff that is likely second nature to experienced players is incredibly helpful. Can't tell you how many tutorials assume that you know a LOT about the basics of wow. Please keep them comin!!

This was great! I've played paladin since 2019's classic so I knew all of the info here myself, but it's also something I wish I had back when I was a new player in wow all the way back in OG BC. Very clear and concise.
Something that was difficult to find for me in 2019 was a guide on how to seal twist effectively! That might be an interesting short video you could do.
This is my first time ever playing WoW and ever playing a healer. I seriously appreciate how simplified your guidance is and how you explain things geared towards us new players without treating us like we’re idiots. I was able to watch the entire 40+ minutes and follow along the entire time, which is honestly not something I can say about most guides I’ve seen. Thank you so much!!

i had heard of WoW and watched some of your and asmons videos a few years ago, and the WoW classic boom on twitch has made me want to really try the game. I've never played WoW before, so the learning curve is fairly huge, and even though I don't play pally, I love seeing guides like this because they help ease the transition into the game, and I hope you make more of them

Exceptional video, Esfand. The best one you've made. This video is practical, insightful, helpful, and genuine. I learned a lot of things in this video, and I've been playing WoW since March 2005 Vanilla. I recently quit retail in June 2022 due to the absurdity of mythic raids, but I've been thinking of coming back to try Classic for the first time. When Classic first came out during Battle for Azeroth, I didn't go try it since I was busy leading our guild and raid team. Anyways, these kinds of videos are way better than the "dinking around" videos that most people create. Those are fun, too, but this video has some real meat to it. It's always great to hear from seasoned, experienced WoW players who have been around the block, especially those who were "hardcore" back in Vanilla and progressed through all of it. The perspective is invaluable. Very enjoyable. I'm relatively new to your channel, although I heard of you some years ago.

I've been a Pally since I started playing and it's great to see someone with so much passion for it. So, by all means do more of this in SoD.
I've played since WotLK but I really liked how you had something for everyone, new players and vets. I learned things that I didn't know before. I hadn't necessarily played paladin in Vanilla WoW, so I really appreciate the simple things but also the more advanced things as well. Also, thanks for clearing up the Seal of Righteousness vs. Seal of the Crusader for us! I'd love to see more as we go through all of the phases of SoD.

This was honestly so helpful! I've played since WoW first came out and never leveled a classic Paladin before (the first time I ever leveled a paladin was in WotLK) and so far I'm having a blast! I think Crusader Strike really helps the experience in the early game. Excited to see more Esfand pally videos!

Definitely keep making these types of videos. I decided to finally try wow bc of season of discovery and I started yesterday and decided to play a ret paladin, and being an entirely new player, not knowing the mechanics of the game, I died multiple times, in situations I normally wouldn’t have in osrs, which is my main mmo. Two very different mmos too fundamentally and control wise. After watching this and listening to your advice in detailing the skills and abilities and how they’re intended to be used in a rotation, now I understand what I was doing wrong, and can fix my rotation of skills while leveling instead of developing those bad habits that get hard to shake later on. I’ll be waiting for your next tips and guide video.

Ret Pally has always been my favorite class/ spec combo. Especially in BC/ WotLK eras. I was never a hardcore player, but I'm glad to see this guide. It helped a lot. I'm working up to Seal of Command right now in SOD. Thanks, man.

Thank for the guide, very helpful. I had already levelled a hunter, warlock and druid and wanted to try out Paladin. Levelling is going very slowly this guide will help me on my way. I have a max level paladin in retail but it is very different I noticed.
