I really like public domain 'cause it gives content creators and filmmakers/artists liberties on creating something that they might enjoy. Yes, I'm also aware that they are some greedy scumbags out there who just want to make or adapt other IPs into crappy projects for the sake gaining money but NOT everyone are like that; they are other content creators out there who want to create something that they are passionate about and show how much they actually do care and love the IP we grow up with, I've read and seeing thousands of fan comics and fan films that are really good (some that are mixed or bad) and some that are better than the ones hollywood has released or produce, some even have potential to become a passion project for audiences and fans alike. If everything turned public domain within 5 or 4 years, I would love to make a Lion King, Super Mario or Marvel film/series with my own ideas with endless possbilities and apportunities.

Public domain aw yeaaaaaa! Now if we can only start to get stuff entering it a lot faster and cutting down that ludicrously long wait time for copyright to expire.

Right? Imagine how soon we could have gotten Star Wars in the public domain if that time didn't get extended!

@@MaevynBelle Imagine indeed... Disney may not have thought it was worth it to get the limit extended again just for Mickey, but I wouldn't put it past them to try again at some point when an even bigger property is getting close to going into the PB. Heck, it could happen as soon as 2036, when Captain America's 95 years is set to expire.
