The Downfall of Noggin

- Continuing my "discontinued kids channels" series today I decided to talk about Noggin which ran from 1999 to 2009 before eventually being brought back as a streaming app. This was heavily requested so I hope you guys enjoy! I had very vague memories of Noggin so it was such a treat to revisit.

UPDATE: Noggin is officially shutting down for good R.I.P 💔 despite my thoughts on those atrocious “noggins” this didn’t need to happen
“You are absolutely joking.”
-Morgz Mum
R.I.P. Noggin App You Will Be Missed (Including Mosse and Zee, They Were Awesome) 😭😭😭😭
rip moose and zee 😞
And I can’t even login one last time to play pup picture day or the rabbit and present games😢
Yeah, I think this video will make people feel better because it helps them know that this isn’t the first time noggin died
if moose a. moose and zee have no fans, i am in the grave
I second this
I third this. EVERY MORNING, AFTERNOON, AND EVENING, I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE THEM ON TV AND DO THEIR THING
Me age 4
SO REAL
Same. OG's.
I remember losing my shit after seeing a commercial for the Noggin app because that was the first time I saw Moose and Zee in years. It wasn't like "omg I forgot about them" but it was like "omg I thought I'd never see them again" and it was a very magical moment
DUDE SAME HOLY FUCK😂😮😮
YEA
SAME 😭😭
I forgot and don't remember Noggin frr I watched that when I was a baby Idk why I miss Moose and Zee
Literally had the same reaction. Just waiting for SpongeBob to come back on while I munched on cereal and all of a sudden I see Moose and Zee for the first time in years. Holy nostalgia reaction right there.
You wouldn’t believe my confused child brain when Noggin “disappeared” and Nick Jr started
right?? like at least when feetface was they aired a commercial introducing moose & zee for a couple months beforehand
Right? I was devastated when it happened
i could’ve sworn they were on at the same time. one channel was noggin and the other was nick jr.
@niyxxp pretty sure you're right because it was a part bc I think Degrassi aired on there
@niyxxp I REMEMBER THIS TOO. They most definitely were on at the same time.
I blame Moose for causing a whole generation to hate candy corn.
that's legit the only segment I somewhat remember from being born later on in 2008 lmao
Yeah
Loved that song, but I liked candy corn as a kid, now I can't eat it XD
I swear I feel like a foul beast for liking candy corn but not mint. Like every time I mentioned it as a little kid I'd always get dissed and taunted by the (ableist) teachers with that damned song. Jerkums
😂
The amount of Parallels between Noggin and Sprout are kinda insane.
-Started as a Partnership
-Aired shows from the companies’ library
-Eventually overtaken by the big corporate company after others dip
-Gets rebranded to include a bigger more well-known name, only leaving some of the original channel’s features that are gradually phased out over time
-Nowadays is a shell of its former self with its once lively mascots now left to rot in a vault somewhere.
It’s such a shame that the two channels died the way they did but it’s very fascinating seeing them fade in such a similar way despite being very loosely tied to each other.
- started as a partnership with sesame workshop
- healthily survived for well over a decade until falling victim to corporate unification/rebrandings in the 2010s
Sprout was such a nice tv show growing up for me and helped me learn some spanish when I wasnt taught it. so sad to see these two go down badly :(
I remember sprout so vividly lol. I used to watch Chloe’s Closet all the time when I was younger
You also gotta remember that Sesame Workshop played an integral role in both channels existence.
Don't forget the protests by parents who knew what they were talking about.
I'm only just now realizing how much of my childhood I spent watching Noggin. Hearing the names Oswald and Wow Wow Wubbzy almost made me cry, because it reminded me of standing in the middle of my grandma's couch, eating cookies and drinking chocolate milk.
and now oswald is in the public domain
@@leongay3190they’re talking about the octopus, not the rabbit
Hearing about Oswald and wow wow wubbzy make me feel nostalgic for it because I was a family friends a lot as a kid for sleep overs and I would wake up in the middle of the night to wow wow wubbzy and it would brighten my night I am so sad they don’t play any more episodes of old shows like they did back then
I'm the same age as you, and I can definitely say it was really disappointing when I turned on Nick Jr in March 2012 and there were no Moose and Zee. I was already starting to move on to channels for older kids like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon at that point, but the removal of Moose and Zee was the final nail in the coffin. It's sad to see how bland the channel, app, and brand have become over the years.
I definitely think the new mascots were meant to be a rip-off of minions.
@@apenguinnamedabraham come my minions
i was born in 2006 so i was a lil later to moving to more “big kid channels”
actually no cause I’ve started watching them more in 2012 but still had a nickelodeon bias so kinda still nick jr
2014 was when i stopped for the most part except max and ruby.
I do remember the moose and zee segments but I still watched even when they were gone
I was a Noggin kid and a HUGE advocate for their return lol. I loved Moose and Zee more than the actual shows (my favorites being Little Bear and Backyardigans among others). So glad someone said what I was thinking about the streaming service! Always good memories
Quite literally same here. Brings back the good ol memories
When you mentioned miss spider I instantly had flashbacks to the time where every time they mentioned “miss spider” I would get scared and change the channel because of that white bug thing
EW I REMEMBER THAT THING
The white spider certainly weirded me out, but he was nothing for myself, a kid who watched Invader Zim, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, among others.
Well he was voiced by Frollo’s VA
Spiderus! His wife and kids freaked me out more than him but I totally get why he creeped you out lol
Bro that white spider’s face looked like James Charles in clown makeup.
the ukelele appearance at 6:41 is an absolutely unhinged joke and im ALL HERE FOR IT 😭😭😭😭
Sis had to pull it out 💀
Fun Fact: Maisy used to air on Qubo when the channel still aired, I knew Maisy from Qubo so when you brought it up I was absolutely flabbergasted because I never knew where Maisy originated from.
Since I was the only person at school that didn't have cable I thought I was the only one in the world that knew who Maisy was but I'm glad I'm not alone anymore.
Maisy was the sweetest little thing ever, I loved the cute, simplistic artstyle and the bright, happy colors.
Omg I grew up with qubo and I remember Maisy also.
QUBO OMG
Qubo was great! Maisy was cute and relaxing to watch
Used to watch Maisy on noggin, theme song still stuck in my head twenty years later.
I remember when it was on there.
I remembered noggin when flash was still a thing and I was playing nickjr games on thier website. The moose voice was very comforting to me for some reason. Still sad it was discontinued, but I had fond memories of noggin every now and then. 💛
Moose was kinda like a diet Mr. Rogers in a way
I was a Noggin kid for sure. I remember twilight in the summer/fall when the sun was setting, Jack's Big Music Show was over, and it was time for dinner. Then we'd switch over to PBS Kids Sprout for nighttime. It was always such a comforting presence, so much so that I still go back to them sometimes when my mind needs to slow down.
When I was a kid, cartoons didn't need constant loud colors and noise to keep you stimulated. They didn't make much noise at all, really. They relaxed you so you could think about what was happening and go to bed happy. Now Nick Jr. is all Baby Shark and whatever the hell PAW Patrol has turned into, and Sprout turned into Universal Kids, which I haven't seen but probably isn't much better. It only got worse with the advent of RUclips Kids and all the schlock that entails. Just brainrot through and through. Bluey has become the exception instead of the norm. Disheartening to see. Kids deserve shows that have more substance than style.
God. 21 and I sound like the dad from Calvin and Hobbes.
Do downfall of playhouse Disney

Could you do the downfall of Playhouse Disney? I grew up watching that channel and I feel like it doesn't get talked a lot about these days.
I SECOND THIS
I THIRD THIS
I FOURTH THIS ‼️
I FIFTH THIS!!!
Does anyone remember bunnytown?
I vividly remember Noggin’s sign off sequence before they went to 24 hours. Moose and Zee would sing this cute little goodbye song, and then it would cut to a solid minute of this message against a blank screen saying that Noggin had ended and the N was coming on, while only rain sounds played in the background. I always thought it was weirdly apocalyptic as a kid.
Noggin has raised me. You have no idea how much I LOVE NOGGIN. All of the shows (Dora the Explorer, Diego, The Backyardigans, Oobi, Max & Ruby, The Upside Down Show etc.,) are just family to me. And I LOVE MOOSE AND ZEE. I will continue loving them until I day I die. It's a shame that kids now don't get to experience the same as much as I did. I just wish Nickelodeon could create a tv channel similar to Adult Swim, but decitated to all classic Noggin & Nick Jr. shows. If that happen, I'll be really happy. But Thank God for archives on RUclips though.
Do you know where the archives are? I miss noggin as well:((
@@Meghangoshhh You can search up noggin & Nick Jr commercials break. Unfortunately, you can't leave any comments on them since it's marked as made for kids.
@@blissykoopathank you for letting me know that’s very helpful for me :’)
I grew up with moose and Zee when noggin was around. Pure memories….
Also, The Upside Down show is so underrated
True dat.
YESSSS. THAT SHOW WAS THE BEST 😍😍😍
i remember crying uncontrollably as like a 4yro when i saw that moose and zee were gone. i vaguely remember my mom calling our tv provider being confused about it lmaoo
When I was little I (and my younger siblings) LOVED Moose and Zee. My grandmother even made me these little felt plushies of them, I think my mom still has them somewhere. When the network killed them off, the three of us cried and cried and wouldn't stop. My mom wrote a whole letter to the network telling them off for making me and my sisters cry 😂 Rest in peace Moose and Zee, gone but never forgotten ✊😔
My sister was the one who Noggin was constantly on for and I found it truly comforting after a day of teenager stuff. I still sing, “I don’t like candy corn, give it to my sister,” from the Halloween bumpers they had any time I have candy corn now
Older sibling sucked into being invested in a kids programming network solidarity is very real here, though I wasn’t quite a teen but definitely’too old’ to watch it lol. I think it just made me want to seek out working on that kind of show as a career instead though since there was so much genuine heart in Noggin shows and yeah it was pretty relaxing from the rest of my day to day life
Fun Fact: Jack’s Big Music Show was created by (and starred) David Rudman, one of the main muppeteers on Sesame Street.
omg that’s so cool! i think that’s how it worked with co-production agreement then i should’ve specified
I vividly remember that fatefull day in 2012 when the channel did the full reboot. Moose and Zee were nowhere to be seen...it was tragic 😭
I used to love noggin as a kid. The nights where I would be up late and watch Maggie and the ferocious beast was my favorite. Also, I don’t know if anyone remembers this, but I remember in the early 2010’s when noggin switched to nick jr they also tried to have their own version of nick at nite, but it was called nick mom and it would come on at 10pm or so. I don’t think it lasted very long, but this is something that I remember them doing
I remember that!
I remember that. It didn't last long
Your research skills and ability to churn out weekly videos is seriously admirable. Can't wait to watch this one!
hope you enjoyed!! i try my best 🫶💕
As a 90’s/2000’s Kid, I totally remember and Really miss watching 1999-2001 Noggin!😭❤️📺🎶👍🏻#BringBack1999Noggin
I watched 2007-2009 Noggin.
I remember my family and I going to a rainforest cafe one night and we were all happy and excited. When we got back, I turned on the TV and the Nick Jr layout was completely different and I audibly gasped. I remember playing the mini games on the computer with my brother and laughing at the Moose-A-Moose icon saying that he was stalking us. RIP Noggin, will be missed.
omg you just mentioning rainforest cafe brought back so many memories
As someone who watched Noggin growing up, seeing how well loved Obie was as a show is so funny to me. My parents always HATED IT whenever it came on the TV 😭 they thought the way the characters spoke in broken, baby talk English was so annoying. As a kid, I never understood it
I couldn't believe it was real because I just thought it was a fever dream.
After the switch, Oobi would come on late at night like around midnight, so im sure for most parents of that era, it was nice, because they didn't have to listen to real hand puppets talking like 1-2 year old toddlers, but then again if you were someone who loved Oobi, you would have to find a way to watch it whenever Moose A. Moose would announce it.
I miss the days when Noggin/Nick Jr. Channel never aired commercials during shows. Also, I'm glad to see another fellow Rubbadubbers fan!
The absolute chokehold Noggin/Nick Jr. had on me and I’m turning 20 in 2024 💀
SAME. I’ll also be 20 in 2024 and I’m not ready
I feel like I remember Noggin doing some kind of party where they hyped up the name change and then at 12 they officially changed the name to Nick Jr. I was very pissed as a child 💀 My family and I remember this channel very fondly though, particularly for how much it engaged in music! My family cites this channel and its music acts for why I became so musically inclined, I wish kids channels today still engaged with music and the arts as much. We focus a lot on STEM today, but I feel like it comes at the expense of language and the arts
Kipper was my comfort show I completely forgot about him until you said it I remember the instant cozy and calmness I feel when I saw him on tv when I was little
Fun Fact: The RUclips channel “Rare Noggin Stuff” usually has hour-long Noggin/Nick Jr. Videos that had Moose A. Moose and Zee with them. I’m not too sure if this is in one of their videos, but I remember one of them had a short where Moose went to the park with his NEPHEW, Bruce A. Moose to learn about a Panda’s puppy, BRO’S A FUCKING UNCLE.
I remember the day it changed and noggin had a section saying goodbye I kid you not I started bawling 😭😭
I was a preteen (11) when the N debuted. And I can say the channel was literally all I ever wanted to watch. I hated having to wait until it shifted from noggin 😅 south of nowhere was the first show I watched that opened my eyes to a lot of things being from a small town. That channel really helped shaped me view of things from my preteen years through my teen years lol
Honestly I remember Moose and Zee. I always liked Moose as a little kid because he had that calming voice like Bear In The Big Blue House!
That’s Moose and Zee.
@@chieftone-tone591 autocorrect….

After both Sprout and Noggin ended, years after lots of the shows moved to Qubo. Franklin ,Mrs Spiders Sunnypatch , Jay Jay jet plane, Bob the builder (in Qubos final years) and etc. Qubo unfortunately ended in 2021
It seems like most educational or forgotten shows ended up on Qubo.
Yep,it just ended on February 28 for no good reason.
@@hawkfeather6802 I remember I was watching Bob The Builder that night and all of a sudden a random cowboy show started playing. Channel name changed and etc. So unfortunate.

it's very sad that the network completely got rid of the noggin original shows off their app, they've essentially became lost media again. i hope that someday in the future they bring them back once more. i miss you, moose and zee
I was born 1997 and I watched noggin past the point you’d expect. I never saw it become nick Jr. but late night Oobie reruns when I couldn’t sleep with my DS playing Pokémon was nice.
A walk in your shoes really impacted me as a teen. I still think about it to this day. BUT I HATE OOBI! Do you have any idea how many times I had to scrape smashed up food out of my cousin's hand because "Oobi's hungry!"😭 😭😭 That hand is a menace!😂
Nostalgia just hit me, when I was little Noggin was my favorite program to watch I had watched it every single day. I'm very thankful that I was born in the 2000s.
I used to adore this channel. Oobi as a show used to freak me OUT. Primarily because I am an insomniac and for me I struggle to go to sleep and also STAY asleep. And when I was younger I liked the tv on when I went to bed. So, often I would RANDOMLY wake up at 3 in the morning and be immediately met with the voices presented in oobi at low volume and I swear that is my ONLY memory of the show and it still freaks me out for some reason.
I had a very similar experience to yours, actually! I fell asleep on a little blanket fort in the living room with Noggin on Tv and I woke up to the credits of Oobi playing in the dead of night. I was paralyzed in fear and I couldn't move for a few good moments. Needless to say, I refused to watch the show afterwards and cries every time it came on. Me and Oobi are chill now, though
To be honest with you, Yo Gabba Gabba! (owned by WildBrain) was one of the best shows on Noggin among others including The Upside Down Show, Maisy (even though it’s owned by Universal Studios), Play with Me Sesame (before that show moved to Sprout), Dora The Explorer and Blue’s Clues.
And don’t forget Ooby.
To this DAY, I still know the Candy Corn Song from Moose A. Moose
I'm so glad you're seeing channel growth, you deserve it!
When I was little I LOVED moose. The only thing I can very clearly remember a Halloween special where he’s singing “I don’t like Candy corn”. To this day I STILL quote that 🥺 also I swear I remember seeing Ruby Gloom off of Noggin, anyone else remember it?
You actually made an error: Jack’s Big Music Show was produced by Spiffy Pictures rather than Sesame Workshop. I can see why you’d make that mistake, as Jack was actually portrayed by Cookie Monster’s puppeteer, David Rudman.
logos aren’t scary, grow up
@SpinelFan64 i mean fear is a subjective thing so i guess it depends
This feels like talking to a friend about something you've never heard of, but they hook you in, and I love it!
Noggin dying is so sad, man, because I really enjoyed it. Now it just blends into everything else and *what moron chucked the brain thing?*
the nostalgia is hitting me like a ton of bricks 😭😭
on a slightly unrelated note, i loved Oobi so much (Oobi stans rise up), i called my grandpa Grampu. his memorial tattoo is two mushrooms surrounded by foliage and a banner that says ‘Grampu’
Yep. Loved Oobie as a kid. I remember watching it in two separate time periods, so likey the original Nick Jr. run as an actual preschooler, then the Noggin run as an 8 year old. That, Max and Ruby, Maisy, and Ms. Spider were my top shoes.
@@panayiotianavas3380 little you had impeccable taste in cartoons 😌

ur channel is SO gratifying + validating bc ur literally born same month/year as me within like . a week and i’ve been struggling to find remnants of the media i grew up on but its so few and far between. need noggin broadcasts on youtube asap
This is why I love RUclips. I love discovering new channels that do long form content. Thank god that this genre isn’t dead.
I use to love The N when it was still around. It aired a lot of Canadian teen shows on there (few things I could talk about when talking about nostalgic teen shows with my Canadian husband)
Hi hi! I asked my partner who is schizophrenic his opinion and I’m commenting to be hopefully be helpful. He agrees and thinks the use of schizophrenic as an adjective is overused by people who aren’t schizophrenic, and it does make him and others uncomfortable. Sadly, schizophrenic people face a lot of judgement though, so it’s kind of a small part of a bigger problem of misunderstanding and information!
Thank you for pointing it out and not just laughing : )love your videos!
name a more iconic duo than moose and zee, i'll wait
I was a kid watching Noggin in the early days, as in I distinctly remember voting in the online poll that picked Phred as the official mascot. The retro block was definitely not an Adult Swim situation, it was a lot more like like Nick At Night, where they aired retro programming that would be nostalgic for adults, but which was created for family and/or child viewing. Stuff like The Electric Company, or vintage Sesame Street from back when Oscar was orange. Watched that stuff with my dad, actually, probably a big part of why I love retro TV so much to this day.
I was someone who grew up with Noggin, and the early years of the rebrand to Nick Jr. Honestly the shows here inspired me to become who I am. They served to influence me and shape my youth. I am straight up nostalgic for shows like Jack's Big Music Show, Olivia, Backyardigains, Wonder Pets and many other from that error. I have pluses of the different characters, and have become very invested in the legacy of these classic shows. To the point to where recently I started on a video Soulie about Jack's Big Music Show, doing a full examination of it. I can't say when it will be done, but needless to say this channel inspired me creatively and shaped me into who I am today. I would really appreciate if the program came back in a full time compacity, I would argue it's more Iconic than Nick Jr could ever be.
Re: the schizophrenia quote - I'm 45, so maybe slightly older than the main viewership of your channel. I've got a son who's a handful of years older than you, and I clicked on your video when it was suggested to me by the algorithm because the title jogged my nostalgia for watching The Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, etc with him when he was small and playing along with him as he pretended to be those characters. Your comment about 2004 got me cackling so hard - I'm a neurodivergent person with other mental illnesses, as well, and while i don't have schizophrenia, two of my housemates and one of my other closest friends do. And yeah, it can be jarring and frustrating as hell when we see our divergences, disorders, and illnesses used as an adjective to describe an abled, typical person's life circumstances when they describe a situation that's only superficially similar. It contributes to the minimization of our lived experiences, the marginalization of people who already endure many intersecting hardships, and the dismissal of mental illness as something that's trivial. In a word, it's ableist as hell.
I was your age in 1997, and while we've got a long way to go culturally, it's nice to see that people are finally coming around, over twenty years later, to understanding just how dehumanizing a lot of our society's casual language usage has been historically, and how it still continues to influence culture in ways that aren't always very subtle, but frequently are.
The amount of MEMORIES I have locked up till now bro-
Fun Fact: The child-like designs from Feetface's era actually stayed when Moose and Zee came around until 2012. Not much of a big change.
Def remember the jingle from Phred on Yr Head Show, what a throwback
Ive never heard of the Feetface mascot since i only knew Moose and Zee but oh my god feetface is so cute i love them
I loved oobi! Finding out as an adult that the voice actor for Uma is Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Kate Monster in Avenue Q + Sesame Street off the top of my head) blew my mind
She was VERSATILE
Being from the UK, Noggin felt like such a weird fever dream in our kid's TV lineup. Until recent years the main three channels (which were also free to view) were CBBC, CBeebies (both BBC networks one for older kids like Disney or Nick and the other for preschoolers), and then CITV (owned by ITV) which often aired American shows mainly from Nick alongside their own shows.
Alongside these (especially when there were only 5 channels before Freeview became the norm) all main channels would have a kid's block in the morning, so before my parents got a Freeview TV I could only ever watch shows for an hour or so unless I went to relatives who had Sky or Freeview. Then when we got Freeview, one random day before school my mum found a new channel out of nowhere which used Noggin for their kid's block, which only showed the American shows that would occasionally appear on CITV and as a kid obsessed with Dora it was like Christmas came early. This channel was only live for a few months until it disappeared off the face of the earth.
I don't even remember what channel had the Noggin slot, and none of my friends remember the Noggin slot or any of the shows that weren't shown on CITV unless they paid for Nick through Sky, which we did not do.
In the UK, Nick Jr used the name Noggin in 2004 for their slot of retro UK cartoons from the 70s/80s (Thomas The Tank Engine, Mr Benn, Rainbow among other shows) but ultimately rebranded this as Nick Jr Classics down the line. I've always about Noggin growing up but never got to check it out being from the UK so it was nice to check this brief history out
I will never forgive Nickelodeon for firing Moose and Zee. They were childhood icons in the 2000s.
oh my god. I love these obscure topics about children’s networks so freaking much, there seriously isn’t enough videos of it. I love your videos!!
moose and zee were my Besties dude my family still quotes their halloween and christmas songs at each other lol. genuinely miss those guys dearly they were so comforting :(
Noggin was such a staple of my childhood. My favorite show was Oobi, Tiny Planets, Music Show, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Upside Down Show. I may be a grown a** adult now, but me and my family will never forget the nostalgic memories of us watching Noggin. #BringBackMooseandZee❤😪
After watching this video, did y'all also realize just how many channel/brand reboots there were in the early 2010s?? Noggin to Nick Jr of course, but also like Playhouse Disney turning into Disney Jr, Discovery Kids turning into the Hub Network, 2003 Strawberry Shortcake to 2009 Strawberry Shortcake etc. That was an interesting time to be a child 😭
New decades usually bring new reboots. For example, strawberry shortcake has rebooted again
@ducky19991 yea totally, and I get that. I guess it's still just weird in retrospect how I can say that I technically grew up with 2 different eras of networks/brands 😅
Rest in peace Moose A Moose and Zee
the days of switching between Nogin classics and TeenNick to watch Degrassi 🥺. Childhood was great
Ugh, I miss Noggin'. There was something so magical and innocent from that time, and I actually lit up when you mentioned Kipper and Rubberdubbers. I miss being a kid
thank you for covering noggin oh my god. one of my earliest dreams i remember is with moose and zee! i think i was like 5 or 6. i dreamt that me, zee, and moose were riding on a flying bear over a city made of peppermint candy😭
you gave me whiplash like 10 times in this video i completely forgot i watched like half of these
Noggin was what I watched when I was a little kid. My favorite shows had to be Little Bear, Oswald, The Backyardigans, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and lots more! I remember my parents would tape some Noggin shows on some tapes and I'd take them with me to the beach house because it didn't have cable. I also have vivid memories of Noggin still playing in the middle of the night. The Upside Down Show and Gullah Gullah Island would always seem to play at those times. I miss these times..
My favorite memory of Noggin is their Thanksgiving song and animation that played every year around thanksgiving. In my child brain, it wasn't thanksgiving time until that little song played 🥲
This generation will never understand our love of moose and zee
I remember being introduced to Noggin back in circa 2000 when Nickelodeon had a “Noggin on Nick” block. Four different Noggin shows on at 6:30AM week mornings. My parents eventually upped our satellite package in circa 2004 so we got the-n/noggin. Another show from the-n other than DeGrassi was Radio Free Roscoe. It didn’t run as long as DeGrassi but a notable show.
Phred lives in my head rent free I still sing the theme song. I always wanted my own. That is when I discovered Noggin and a walk in your shoes then Degrassi ended up on there too
I was born in 2001. I watched noggin as a baby at my grandparents house. Up until 1st grade (about age 6 or 7) both of my parents worked. Because my family didn't have cable, my grandparents house was where I watched stuff like the Noggin channel. I remember both this and PBS Kids GO!
Ah good old Noggin. So many memories with this channel, even if 95% of it was pre-2005 Nick Jr reruns. I think one of the reasons why the N started so early in the day was running off the idea that young children go to bed earlier. I actually found it pretty cool when Noggin transitioned over to that in the evening. After Moose and Zee sung their good night song, there would be this abstract background with a message informing parents that Noggin was done for the day with this little clock in the corner. It was like a liminal space. For a little while, I yearned it to see that again, and my next chance to stay up late enough, just so happened to be right when they dropped the dynamic duo. I was utterly disappointed to see nothing happened to the channel by midnight. But it was fun while it lasted. Meanwhile, apparently Nick was the US home for the British HIT Entertainment shows like Bob the Builder and Kipper, before jumping ship to PBS/Sprout. Perhaps that company is worth discussing for a future video, even if it isn't a channel. Great job!
I kinda remember this bc it changed to Nick jr. halfway through my childhood. I normally watched pbs kids (peg + cat carried) and Disney jr growing up but I vaguely remember having the noggin app on my old iPad 2 (it had a minty mlp background last time I touched it) so that’s something :D
So excited ! I love your videos , always so much work put in to them
I’m 24 almost 25 and I grew up watching pretty much every single one of the shows from the wonderpets/lazy town era of Noggin. Thank you for reminding me of a simpler, and frankly happier time of my childhood.
My God this video hits so close to home you don't even know. I was freaking raised on Noggin as a kid born in 2003.
Ayyyy, same here, dude!
Born in 07. Raised on Noggin. Sure I don’t remember much but this video brings back so many memories 😭
Lost my mind when you brought up oobi everyone I ask has no idea what that is but it was my favorite thing when I was a kid as a young undiagnosed autistic child the way there wasn’t much talking in oobi and it wasn’t bright and loud and overstimulating it was much more educational to me then any other show on noggin
I used to watch this channel back in the day, back in the 2000s. I really enjoyed it. It is a shame how this channel is basically gone now. Very unfortunate. I’m happy that the channel existed but at the same time I’m not happy because the new generation is not going to be experiencing what we have experienced. What a waste, what a waste. I’m also glad it’s an application, but it’s just not the same. It is not the same as watching it on TV. Definitely want to thank many of the actors and actresses for what they have done and what they have contributed, in most of our lives! I think we should start doing that. Sprout was also a good show as well. Keep up the great work! Hopefully there will be more videos in the future.
I used to watch reruns of Ghost Writer when I was a little kid on early Noggin, and I know I watched some stuff on The N, but I mostly remember Moose and Zee from when I used to babysit my nephew. 20:00 the shows around this mark in the video are pretty familiar to me.
Honestly, I'm just here because I'm super interested in TV channels and programming blocks and such.
Great video!
P.S.: and yeah, I feel super old watching this
I really wanna start rewatching some of these old shows now that you’ve reminded me of them 🥺🥺🥺
This was a really great video! So many memories started flooding back lol. One show that I will always associate with Noggin is a show called Tiny Planets. I remember it starting as shorts but then these shorts would become a half hour block at some point. It was about two aliens named Bing and Bong who went to “tiny planets” and focused a lot on science, math, nature, physical health, etc. it was a very cute show and I will always associate it with Noggin, a very iconic network!
The name just takes me back to when I was young and watching so many classic little kids shows back in my day - Oobi, Oswald, Go Diego Go and some of the Puzzle Time segments bring me back 😊
This network was my early childhood 😢 thank you for this video. It brought back so many memories. I was watching the channel a lot from the mid to late 2000s.
thank u for validating my very hazy memories about this stuff! i'm currently 23 and i vaguely remember the switch to moose and zee, but i also remember watching degrassi every now and then on the n as a toddler. i could never remember what channel that was or why i would've been watching it until i saw that logo on this vid lol
Noggin changing to Nick Jr. was literally the first time I could remember being angry. I really enjoyed this very informative video!
Who else wants her to make a video about Playhouse Disney?
👇
Me 😋😋😋
And the original Nick Jr. block.
Yes. Clay won't leave my head. Or Skye.
YESSSS!
the tiny sound clip of moose singing at the end just took me soo back. god, i loved that song so much?! man, the nostalgia is hittin soo hard
Not even joking just found your account through this video and went down the rabbit hole of your entire channel and cant express how amazed i am that you cover literally everything i like lmaoo, gained a big fan frfr, love how your videos are made and love your vid backgrounds even more!!
