The genre is so vast with so many shared styles of death. 3. So many sounds sound like other sounds 4. When watching a horror movie, the sounds are the things that register the least, as opposed to the images. Well done Chelsea for crafting a profoundly difficult and very interesting game!!
The highlight of this episode has to be James saying literally every descriptor for the movie Jaws without actually guessing Jaws. It was almost like he was trying to give hints to Chelsea what the movie was about as if Chelsea was the one guessing lol

My friends and I saw Final Destination in the cinema and when the bus kill happened some guy blurted out, 'Oh my god they killed Terry. You bastard.' And made everyone in the cinema laugh.
I’ve listened to all of the episodes to this podcast multiple times now, but the first iteration of this game was and still is my absolute favorite. I’m so happy this got a sequel!! Thank you, Chelsea!
For some reason, I remember Chelsea always doing the podcast intro, but I could very well be wrong! Maybe it’s just cuz I’ve always thought of the podcast as Chelsea’s.
Go ahead and laugh you guys (we will), but if I ever find the little bastards (James and Chelsea) who did this (the podcast), they're Dead Meat (they are!)
I recognized that lawnmower kill from Sinister immediately! Such a good jump-scare. Also guessed that Jaws one on the short clip because I recognized that sound of Quint spitting up blood right away.
I didn't get most of these, but I recognized the one at 44:33 immediately. That sound is seared into my memory. That was an ingenious selection for this episode, and I'm so glad James got three points on it.
I dont understand how James and Chelsea are so effortlessly hilarious. They have such good chemistry together and I’m so glad that they’re back doing the podcast. Never thought Tuesday would be my favorite day of the week
"Here's the next clip" *.2 second clip of squishing and wood falling* James: 🤨 "I'm sorry" The pure comedic timing of that apology after realizing the absurdity of that clip and the information that could be used 🤣😂
Queen Chelsea has come once again to deliver us from the horrors of another week 👸 [EDIT: I was screaming at my phone when it took James that long to guess the final question's answer, it physically pained me]
I recognized the Merman kill after the longer Version was played for nothing else but remembering how James in the KC said that they used a shit ton of blood, and the splattering of the blood was intentionally left in.
So excited to see more Dead Meat Podcast episodes! Chelsea's deep dives and knowledge have gotten me into reading horror writing literature myself. Just finished the phenomenal Horror: A Literary History, edited by Xavier Aldana Reyes and I finally got my hands on Men, Women, and Chain Saws! Thanks for getting me into this stuff y'all!
This is SO RAD! I always SO appreciate the amount of work Chelsea puts into these games. I love playing along & she's inspired a few games in my happy hour group
I love how the game starts with Chelsea asking "Do you want to hear it again?" and James politely saying "Yes please", and it ends with James going "PLAY IT AGAIN" 😂😂
I ain't too big on horror and I got that one and a couple other ones but my reason is because I don't have many movies that I actually know, I got both the final destination ones and the zombieland one instantly tho
chelsea really looks so good with both short and long hair! i feel like there’s not many people who can pull off both but she is definitely one of them.
I haven't watched a podcast video for a while but I've been listening to them at work while I'm making popcorn for 6 hours straight. I'm loving the new background!!
I think what helped last time was that Chelsea started giving James the release date before playing the clip. But I’m sure Zoran picking out some of the movies James only seen once or twice like Tremors didn’t help. Especially the kill from Tremors since Zoran did the kill count for that franchise. It might help though to use the occasional tagline for hints or for someone to make a tagline of their own. Because we know James and Chelsea know their taglines
As soon as you mentioned the Sinister article, I had to go find it 😂 so based on heart rate while watching, Sinister is the scariest, and Insidious has the scariest jump scare! Interesting.
I can’t believe how long it took James to get Jaws at the end. I also can’t believe how poised Chelsea was while he danced around Jaws without getting it.
I love listening to these so much, some of them are SO hard to figure out, but at the roughly 22min mark, I 100% knew the short sound clip instantly. Tremors when Nestor is pulled down into the tire. LOVE IT!! =)
This one felt tougher than the last one. I thought the Wrong Turn kill was from I Know What You Did Last Summer. Got the Final Destination one and Jaws. As always y'all are awesome and looking forward to the next podcast.
I'm so proud that I got the Texas Chainsaw Kill instantly without a second thought... where James took longer. Such a sudden scary moment! I also got the final Jaws kill pretty quick too. I'm very happy with that. :)
Those two and the Cabiin in the Woods kill were the ones I got faster than James as well, but apart from that there's not much I recognized Edit: Both Cabin in the Woods kills, because I love that movie.
That second Cabin in the Woods kill was soooo annoying because I could picture that death perfectly when I heard it and I couldn’t believe he couldn’t guess it even after hearing the repeat possibilities!! Come on James you even gave us specific facts about that scene in your kill count 😆
Knowing the Tremors one is in here and he's literally seen it twice ever makes Chelsea's doubling back on "Well, at least they're movies you Know" hilarious because you know that's the moment 'during filming' when she realized it was going to be painfully unfair. Then forgot again by the time it came up.
I was looking forward to a new podcast and it's once again a great one. I also want to say that James and Chelsea are both great in the new INK music videos.
I pause the video to give myself time to think of some answers and I say to myself out loud Black Christmas first and then I was like maybe it’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then James proceeds to say the same thing right after I unpause 😂🤣 I live for moments like these ❤️
I got three right on the short clips. The 2 Cabin in the woods clips and Jaws. I saw Jaws when I was very young, and Quint's death has been etched in my brain. As for Cabin, I had just recently watched it, so that was just serendipitous. What a crazy hard game, I love it. Do it again, please.
I think Chelsea might really enjoy that. There's a chance that James or Chelsea already know members of Starkid or saw some of their first productions, since they attended the University of Michigan around the same time. I don't know if there is a lot of overlap between the film and theater departments, and it's a large school, so it might not be highly likely - but it's a possibility!
Oh man, that last one was amazing. I knew it was Quint/Jaws pretty early on (I’ve seen the movie countless times), and Chelsea is right; James was basically pitching the movie. Incredible!
1:09:07 I instantly visualized the guy on the floor twitching and kicking his leg after getting bonked in the head by Leatherface, shows just how effective and memorable that scene is. This is also the only kill I guessed right before James
