    Love this game!!!! Just started playing it 3 days ago!!! First city builder I have played since Age of empires III from 2006. 😅
    I am in chapter 4. Without giving spoilers, all I can tell you guys is to ensure you stock up. Storage is ESSENTIAL!!!!

    Hi, I write a comment about roads between sectors in episode 1 or 2, and I can 100% confirm that 8 entrance on both sides are all connected, you can easily test it by building 2 roads on opposite of the walls and try transfering ressources between them.
    Still a really good layout for all sectors, even if its not necessary I kinda like building roads that connect every doors on the sides.

    I think you are missing some optimization potential with the Cell housing. You mention CH has no bonuses, but the housing bonus is based on "mostly". So as long as you have more capacity in the better housing, you get that bonus. It's a 51wins over 49 thing.
    With the capacity upgrades, I run 2 dometics per Cell house 182 vs 162. Or 3 boosted optimized, per standard Cell 156 vs 125.
    Have fun shoehorning them in!

      These are very much a option, but its more and more tech, which is later into the game, I mention them quickly because when we do the next sector we will be looking more into cell housing for all/most sectors

    There are indeed road ways inside the walls. I have seen many a time where a drone goes in the top from one section and out the bottom into the next section.

    I figured out why the fusion station doesn't provide enough water. It should be producing 40 water per cycle via 15 ice. The problem is that the stupid thing only holds 15 ice at a time, so once you finish one production cycle it sits there being useless until your stock pile fills it back up to 15. This drops the average water produced per cycle over a 5 cycle time frame to 24 when you need 27. I ended up using the extra space you left in the top left, right next to the houses, to build a second fusion plant. They need to raise the capacity to 30, so it can automatically start the next cycle when it finishes one.

      While it's working it can store another 15 ice, 1 fusion plant was enough to fuel 2, and I only needed it 50% of the time once I got water treatment + upgrades. I had 1 deticated Ice miner and 2 deticated ice transports, limiting factor might be speed of transport, so having a couple stockpiles (for me I had 1 medium and 1 large) will probably sort it for you

      I use the top and bottom space for mushrooms due to the waste produce by the farm and the spate space for algae as I thought there is a bonus Of food variety but not found one yet ….
      I use a dedicated space for cell houses and the majority of my population what makes it possible to fit with specialisation of population to fit 3500 people but you need drones without you run into problems of keeping enough food in storage.
      Could you make a video with all possible specialisation including the lvl and benefits?

      With max research, two maxed out crop farms and about 6 mushrooms will take care of your pops for the entire game. Alternatively 2 maxed out Algae farms will do the same but have an absolutely massive buffer when you mix in shrooms.

    For those that struggle with the speed that JD speaks, can I recommend slowing the playback speed to 0.75... It makes it much less wearing on your brain cells! Can I have a like and if you don't like playing the video at that speed by the end of the video you can take your like back... 😉

      You are missing out on two fantastic sector specialization bonuses that could easily be obtained. space 2 and recycling 1. 7 space building = +20 efficiency to Hull repair. 4 recycling buildings = + 30% resources produced by recycling buildings .

      if you go back and watch the sector 3 video, it showed how i updated sector 1 to have space specialist and sector 4 already gets recycling level 1

      Eventually we will as we get more and more pop (game is currently limited to 5K total pop) so its not super required currently

    Nice layout and videos, i found it hard to come by tho on this third sector video, you build for free throw a thousand alloy into this layout and optimisation but when you actually play the game in survival you need the iron and its difficult to keep building like you are with what can be probed and moving the tiqqun require even more allow to repair, to be able to reach the point to put some waste factory you are iron dry and stuck on the map.

    I've discovered something while testing the "free" buildings you get when you start a Sector. If you first build one in a temporary location, then build its replacement in a permanent location, then demolish the free building, you end up paying the full cost of the replacement building. If you build one in a temporary location, then demolish all existing buildings of that kind in the Sector, then build the replacement in a permanent location, the first building is free again. So when moving the Mess Hall, for example, if you demolish the free one before queuing the new one, it'll save you 40 Alloy. The only buildings you can't do this with are the Stockpiles, since you can't demolish all of them to get the free one back. This may or may not make it worthwhile to place your free Stockpiles in a location where you will permanently want a Stockpile to be.

      Not sure if they patched this out in the most recent update, but just a couple days ago I found that as long as you have all your currently existing stockpiles in that sector marked for deconstruction, the game does provide you with the two free stockpiles to construct in that sector again.

    Hi JD, There isn't really a lot of room for any extra stability buildings. I tend to overstay in a system because I want to obsessively mine all the resources.

      Overstaying just means your getting the -1 bonus from the next chapter early that's all I havnt had issues with stability overall

      Editing save files, but there is a 99% chance you will brick your save. Hence im not publicly saying how to do it, as I don't want a lot of people to complain to me about broken saves etc

    Is the 'waste management' protocol how they process all the poo on the Tiqqun? Methane build up could be an issue too with explosive atmospheric conditions in population only sectors... 😬🤦‍♀

    The trucks stay on their side of the wall.
    5 trucks are assigned to each storage.
    As when taking removing resources from building. The wall acts as a building.
    Trucks appear at the start of where the resource needs to move from and takes it on a 1 way trip to the other end.
    If it's the wall the trucks go back to storage.
    Another truck from the other side of the wall appears and carries the resource to it's storage.
    Yes I guess you could say it goes in 1 and out the other but what's really happening is the truck on the other side is just appearing at the closest door for the shortest route.

    you forgot the Nihei quarter protocol upgrade for the quarters which makes them produce waste based on you population only need you to reach level 3 tech

    Question: if I set workers only as policy then I have 100% chances for workers from all pods or if I have 100 pods then first 20 are workers and then only non workers?

      If you set "workers only policy" you will get only workers for as long as it is set. Make sure you're trust level is at least +4.2

    I dont get it why my sector 2 used to be space tier 1 with only 4 docking bay but now I moved it the specialization never come back…

    there is room in each sector to do 2 sector specializations. you need to rethink on planning. i wish i could show you.

      also if you do things right you can have 900 or more colonists unthawed ... full food, steel, nice supply of silicon and carbon. takes a bit of time but is worth it. takes about a year before you jump from jupitor. (might be able to speed run this game)

    the only things he dont have to deal with is the peniltys on time which over time can add over -6 trust in the time frame he at he could have obtained -2 trust marks 1 that doesnt clear for good and one that hits if he spends more then 225 cycle post jupitier saturn revealing or 445th cycle if you trying to playthe pacing algo in chapters 2 their is a negitve 1 trust if you you gain at cycle 366 if you enter this point after 326 which adds on to the already negtive 1 you gain form the prevous chapters not if you gain 2 negtive traits in it this can be lost only if you reveal the patroine thing before cycle 388 chapter 2 needs to be completed by cycle 989 or you will risk gained the worst negtive trait sloth trait negetive 2 trust and work efficany if you take the long time possblie that is 489 cycle chapter 1 1238 cycle chapter 2 chapter 3 is 2400 and im yet to find out what the further ones are cause trying to gain them is too hard the resource dont last long enough for them so if you take all the info just know that as long as you focus the main needs you can never fail this game by taken too long and not waste things too much my longest play is 8348 cycles could have gone longer if it held by manpower and played more closer to the meager state rather then given the citzens nice things

    Tech Lab is not a Space building, its actually a factory.

      The Tech Lab is in the Factory tab, but counts towards Space specialization.

    Well sorry to brake your bubble but without a upgraded dronecenter, your food from sector 3 will dwindle into sector 1, and therefor sector 1 will at some point suddenly start starving massively while sector 3 is overflowing with food.
    Ofcourse you didn't notice with you instantly filling the storages, maybe play the game for a change instead of numbercrunching.
    Furthermore, I found it also not nescessary to use any regulation but propaganda and an occasional waste, nor did I ever use cellhousing as it isn't nescessary one bit.

    Not having a tier 2 storage is already fail. Also there is no perfect layout. You have to constantly rebuild stuff to accommodate new buildings or improved building. I keep seeing people building around 300 cycles where you really dont need much. At then of that chapter (the system with the small space storm) is when shit hits the fan and you have to renovate and accommodate a lot of people. Thats when stuff gets hectic and more chaotic.
    But I have to say the layout is clean af. So I leave a like for that :)

      Tier 2 storage would be nice, But requires more tech, so in say about 100 science points i could have T2 storage. But T2 Storage gives a bit more space, BUT also has fewer overall transporters, as i want more transports more T1 storage suits me better right now

      Yeah t2 has half the amount of transports and costs electronics. It can have its uses but I wouldn't say its better, just a different tool for a different job

    well good walkthourgh but cant move forward 30 cryopods short so 4 restarts and fuck this game i quit. You do way better in captain of industry than this game.
