- Thus video i talk you through fossil preparation, i take a very common ammonite that you are likely to start on and talk you through the process.
How to clean a fossil is the no 1 question i get asked so as promised here is the video and be sure to like and subscribe for part 2
That’s great Mark, really interesting watching you clean that dac nice finish.👏
Hi Mark I really enjoyed watching your skill, lovely job and an even better end product. Keep these coming and stay healthy and Covid free.
Thanks all the best to you to
I really appreciate your videos. I watched a guy using a air filtration unit attached to sandblasting with microscope to free trilobites and I thought I only want some basics so I can stop breaking up my Devonian sea shells, corals and trilobites. Very sad when they crumble to dust. Ammonites so far in eastern Pennsylvania Devonian pits and mounds are only yielding 1 to 2 inch speimens. I have some ammonites you sent to us, love them. Your prices are just right and I have several very nice ammonites from the "rough" you sent, very nice.
Thats brilliant!! Thanks for you kind words very much appreciated 😊😊
Nice job buddy 💪
I really wanna clean my shed now so I can get to some prep
I got the Trex along with one of Kens, they work well together.
Nice job pal, looking forward to seeing it complete. Happy days 👍
Thanks 👍
সত্যিই আপনার এই কাজ দেখে আমার অনেক অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছে। আপনাকে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ।
Really enjoyed the video Mark! The editing must have taken quite some time!
Thanks mate, not really. I have it down to treat now 😁😁
Amazing to watch. Very informative. Thank you! Grace and Georgina ❤
Fantastic vid Mark, very much looking forward to part 2
Coming soon!
Very nice, looking forward to part 2
Thanks Jason, Ill post part 2 early next week mate
I have so many awesome mortality plates and specimens that I can tell what is even underneath some of the rock from studying anatomy so much but I have no experience in prep. Maybe one day I will get money for a pen and just learn. Where I'm from in the states has an over abundance of silurian fossils so I would have plenty to practice on.
Great preparation video.
Thanks Brian
Nice video mark really enjoyed it.
Thank you for showing us your prep, really enjoyed this vid. How long was the whole process for this?
Just under 2 hour
What is the liquid you put on it at the end? I prepare a lot of limestone ammonites from texas, do you have any suggestions on anything I can spray or apply to soften the hard matrix of the limestone?
interesting to see- good job on that dac
Brilliant fossil video 👏😉
Amazing. Whats is the name of this equipment that you used to excavate ? Thank you from Brazil
great video :) thanks for sharing
What do you plug the pen into? If so what do I need to get as I've saved up for the trex pen.thankyou!:) love watching your videos so entertaining
I have a 200 litre compressor but if your buying from zoic just ask them they will have everything you need, there trex is a great pen but mainly for matrix removal, i would consider buying the Chicago as you can do it all with that
@@TheYorkshireFossilHunter ok thank you soo much!
Can I ask if you know what cutter polisher to buy, not just for fossils but I have lots of large quartz crystals looked at the wet wheel polishers but I’m not doing it for a job so don’t want to spend tonnes some look ok but wonder if they are hardy enough as they say they for amber and jade there about £200 thank you 😊
This is great. How did you get this talented?
Great video. thanks
Nice work!
Thanks!
Where did you get that tool?
Good video bud 👍
Thanks buddy
First
Thanks!!!
Nice vid, what works for me mostly but not always is as I approach the centre I leave a raised section of matrix then using the pen on low power as close to horizontal as I can, gently vibrate the matrix for a few seconds then move round 180 ° and do the same then move round again. If you like 12 o clock then 6 o clock then 9 o clock and 3 o clock. Often the whole chunk of matrix covering the centre pops in a wonner.
@@alansdorsetfossils4028 yes that's always realy nice when it pops in one. Don't happen often enough though ha ha
