When this song comes on the radio, I'm glad my Chevy Impala has cruise control. Takes me back to driving a stick shift. BEST 🚘 song EVER!! This song will never die!
True story. My boss had me drive a Rena van to pick up supplies. I was sick with some respiratory virus and drinking NyQuil for symptom relief. You should not drink cough syrup.
Such a shame in a way - a good 10 years ahead of their time I believe! If this was released in the 80's, I think it would have challenged some of the top rock bands of that era!
What a kick Ass Band Best driving song ever - each band member at the top of their game ; to Full Throttle Pedal to the Metal Rock “N” Roll George on that lead guitar Whew! Rhythms section by Caesar & Rinus holding down that fabulous back beat rhythm Go- Go - Go ! ! !
George is one of the greatest fucking guitarist. He never gets named or mentioned on anything. What the hell people!!! I always loved that Les Paul and his sunburst one
As far as I'm concerned, one of the great live performances of a classic rock song ever. Probably the best that is not sung in the bands native language.
Great and unique player. Goes from rhythmic to lyrical seamlessly/naturally. Good singer too. Great band as a matter of fact. The push for this band internationally didn't go as well as it could have. They did pretty well for themselves. But musicians/their peers don't give them the love they should. There's a lot of lessons to be learned from them. A real band. Brothers to the end. Not just some dudes who made some bread in the music business.
Same might be said about all band members. Rinus Gerritsen is monstrous with his bass lines, Cesar Zuiderwijk, one of the best drummers out there and of course Barry Hay., the intensity of his delivery is even more outstanding than his rasp. World class, the lot of them.

Man I hate to keep beating a dead horse but the live musicianship of the 70s will never be equaled again. Click on damn near any live performance from the 70s and you will see real talent playing live with no added gimmicks just kick ass music.
I remember watching this performance on Rock Concert in 1973...or ‘74. Cesar has been a huge influence ever since...and Golden Earring...The Best Rock Band EVER! ❤️
Barry Hay was one of the more unusual looking rock band frontmen. He probably would have been better off wearing long sleeves, but the fact is this is one of the best jukebox bar songs of all time. And you can’t beat looking at the girls doing aerobic dance moves in the front rows.

This song was played so much on the radio that some bands just can't match the studio version when this happens. Van Halen and Running with the Devil come to mind. This band just made the song better live and that is hard to do. So much energy!
Priceless camera work the cameraman seemed transfixed by one young lady dancing away with everything bouncing around wonder why lol.Very funky version though they turned this into a jam
If somebody asks you about what do you think about band X - tell them, let's wait for 500 years and we'd find out if it's hoax or a really something outstanding. Dam, they've been performing since 60th and are still performing! Ultimate respect to all of them.
@Robo Q-Man Not many blank cassettes or recorders in 1973. I had to use reel-to-reel for quite some time. Interestingly, back in the '70s, KQRS FM in Minneapolis, MN, would queue up albums at midnight for the express purpose of listener recording. The DJs would give you time to prepare for the needle to drop and to reset your interval between A and B sides of the album. No one cared about copyrights back then, I guess! KQRS was the first pop song format FM station in the Twin Cities area when the FM migration of pop music started.
@@ScottyKirk1 A little Wikipedia surf came up with this, FYI (you never know when you might be on Jeopardy!) "In the mid-1960s, KQRS [102.5 FM] programmed a Middle of the Road-format (MOR) with classical and big band music and Brazilian Bossa Nova music in evenings. In addition to this format, Joe Pyne's talk radio show was carried. In the summer of 1968, KQRS started experimenting with freeform rock in the late night hours with a program called "Nightwatch" with George Donaldson Fisher as DJ. This became very popular with college age listeners and in a few months the rock format was expanded to begin playing in the evenings as well with DJ Alan Stone, and was known as "Nightwatch Trip One", with Fisher's program renamed slightly as "Nightwatch Trip Two." A few months later, this became the primary 24-hour format. The station is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary as a rock station. By 1977, the freeform rock would give way to a tightly programmed rock approach, courtesy of radio consultants Burkhart/Abrams and their "Superstars" format, which was essentially just the hits from album rock."
Little did they know that they would preform this song like a 100 times a year over the next 47 years. Until COVID19 also stopped this great band indefinitely...
Definitively a classic. Had it on 8 track, cassette, LP, reel to reel, CD, and now on itunes. Still like to see the video on You Tube. I love a girl with a bandanna head band on! Reminds me of the good old days!

It came back once 'Twilight Zone' came out...and all of the Rock/Pop station's would play this and TZ on their '2-fer Tuesday's'...at least they did where I lived...
I'll tell ya that'd be one of the best damn psychedelically rock performances in music history by them Dutch rockers! Sure it didn't take 'em long to have a bunch of groupies all lined up backstage after the show.
60 s. 70 s 80 s 90 s the best. Decades. Thankyou. Thankyou thankyou god
My first ever album I bought. 13 years old.

Golden Earring the best rock Band from Holland. Best Percussion, Best Voice Fantastic group from 70's
I love the subtle little things the keyboard adds.
Great tune and performance.
hands down best late night long distance driving song ever

Golden Earring knew how to rock. One of the best driving songs of all time.
For a band that plays this song so tight in the studio, it's great to see how they can also improvise it so well live. Have always LOVED this song!!
. . . and proly with the help of the snow in the dressing room, you know the lines on the mirror factor ! 🤔

They have so many other great songs but this is an excellent version of Radar Love...
They were such an underated band...
Mannnnn 👏👏. One of the greatest rock song in history and what a kick ass performance
