Agree. Uriah Heep needs to be mentioned with Purple, Sabbath, Zep. Also Sweet. Ken Hensley was a very unique keyboardist. Gary Thain was the best bassist of the entire era. Heep wrote good songs. Very overlooked band.

On the 73 tour blue oyster cult opened for uriah heep my friend and I spent the night at the salt palace and purchased the front row. It was all kearns people on the front row, I was lighting joints and passing them up to the band, the front row got so out of hand with security the band stopped and told security to let us party, so after the singer bitched at security the show resumed. After the show a few friends and I went to the hilton and the band remembered me and we partyed all night. They are some cool people. I've partyed with many bands but nothing compares to the night with Uriah Heep, I was only a kid but I will never forget that night.

I played in a rock band in my early 20's (back in the early 80's). We were practising in the living room when the mailman came by. One of our band members went to get the mail and there was a copy of "Easy Living" magazine. We spontaneously broke into a jam on the song "Easy Livin". I still smile about that now!

Went to see Uriah Heep back during the early 70's when I was still in the USMC and just returned from Vietnam. I think it was the summer of '72. A band member was sick and they did not perform and I wasted a hit of acid on Blue Oyster Cult and they sucked. My one and only chance to see UH and they didn't even play. Bummer!
I'm 63, saw these guys at the Philadelphia Spectrum MANY TIMES. They always rocked supreme. Lee YOU CUT A SWATH IN THIS WORLD. LOVE TO one of the greatest drummer musicians power house smart player ever. Hats off

Aged 15 first band I saw live, 75, Wembley Arena. Magnificent. Mum and dad took me and my brother as we were all into them big time. My dad did that. Thanks Dad!
The band definitely holds up over time - at least to now. Lee Kerslake was a beast behind the drums, and his backing vocals were outstanding - maybe the best ever from behind a kit (very musical, can't imagine how difficult that is).

I remember how much I loved their albums back in those years. It sounds so awesome to hear them all these years later. I had the first 3 or 4 albums and gave them away about ten years ago. Great artwork on the covers too.
New to this band here because of (Lee's death/Ozzy connection)....what a fantastic drummer he was , even up to a year before his death he was still drumming/away on yutube,...this band from the early 70's was a little before my time but seems sad they didn't get the recognition like those other "old timers" still filling venues....*pre-Covid*.
My top two or three bands from that era. From the first moment listening to their sound and vocals back in the early 70s, I was hooked and a lifelong Heepster. And how friggin' cool is David in that silk suit?
Back then I fancied myself as an intellectual agnostic. When I came back to the faith, i was amazed at the amount of "Christian rock" that wasn't touted as Christian rock. Theres a great message in that song, as well as a great sound! May you walk with Christ for your easy living.
