“I crash landed here almost 9 years ago, in Los Angeles. Sean was at the door with my brother, so my choices were open the door and go to rehab or jump out the back window down a cliff into some black berry bushes. That’s the choice I took. Luckily they caught me because I couldn’t go anywhere, I was kind of stuck in a bush at the bottom of a cliff bleeding, and I ended up here. I didn’t intend to get here but I’m grateful I am here, it took a lot of people to help me get here.” jerry cantrell
Jerry Cantrell is intelligent, smart, and appreciates life. I am ecstatic he has chosen to stay with us. I hope he gets as much out of life as he gives the rest of us the gift of his talent!
Jerry Cantrell is a natural storyteller. I can listen to him talk as easily as I can listen to him play the guitar.

These guitars are killer. Love my signature Cantrell. It's as well put together as any $1K Jackson or Ibanez. As for the length of Jerry's hair, who gives a shit? You play hard rock with guitars, not hair dryers.

Ibanez is great, played a few of those but g&l are great.
This guys tone and style are so distinctive and excellent. Hardly anyone in rock is on his level. As a guitar player- I often wonder how he got so good so fast (relatively youngish ie by his early 20s). Is it from high IQ? A ton of practice?
Did anyone know him in high school? Was he a bad ass guitarist that young in life?
Sacrifice man, practice all day all the time.....
Practicing isn't everything. Some people just got that extra talent that you can't create with practice. I doubt Chris Broderick and Michael Angelo Batio will ever write a song as good as anything Jerry has written.
Quality of practice is more important than just hours. If you actually sit down a hour a day and pratice things like scales and theory and finger exercises its greatly more beneficial than doodling or playing songs you already know for 5 hours.

I bought one of the tribute G&l Rampage. Its hands down my favorite and go to guitar. Its very comfortable. Of course i am a huge Alice In Chains and Jerry Cantrell fan but you don't have to be a fan to have the guitar. Having own 2 legacy models in the past before i was still nervous to buy the rampage on a whim but i had enough faith that G&L would deliver a fantastic guitar. I am so glad i bough one and do plan on buying another soon. G&L makes the most perfect guitar for me. The Rampage for life!!!!
Call me crazy but I thought Jerry was adorable with short hair! Although I wish he'd go back to shoulder length locks, esp now that he's OLD. (I'm older than him, I can say that LOL) So much about him to love, aside from his astonishing guitar talent, and ability to write music and lyrics for what, going on what, close to 40 years now??? The guy knows his craft inside and out. Not to mention his sense of humor outside of his "job," plus he's a great actor too. Just a super well rounded guy. Would love to spend a day with him, just following him around doing...anything he wants!

Most underrated guitar made, the quality and playability is nothing short of being of one the most perfectly made brands that do not get the recognition they so rightfully deserve. Í was always a Fender snob and it wasn't until a local store owner convinced me to go toe to toe with him and played his G&L against my Fender. While I still love the Fender brand and won't give them up, I now own 5 G&L's and play them faithfully with my favorite the S-500 for it's versatility.

It is amazing Jerry is like so many other guitarists who still own and use there original axe's -i was watching Rage against the Machines first live gigs and saw an interview a few years back with Tom Morello and the same thing He has and still plays the same guitars as when He first started -The black Tele etc. - Mike Mcgready (i think) from Pearl Jam same deal but He bouht a 59' Les Paul as soon as he could afford it, lol- very cool Jerry Rocks !!!

You guys are amazing. They just put out a really good fuckin album and all you can think about is the fact that he changed his looks up a bit. If I'm looking for fashion, I'm not looking to an aging rock star or a band that helped popularize the idea of not giving a fuck how you look. I will admit up front that I am a big AIC fan, so it does bother me to see them bashed...ever. Now with that being said, to all the people making comments about Jerry's hair, where exactly are you videos made by the instrument companies that work with you? Where's your videos taking about your new album, your coming tour, your shows with Metallica, all your older albums that have been successful, or the ones that talk about how you have so many songs that you could play two sets and not repeat?

I have to say even though Jerry is the primary singer,songwriter and guitarist for AIC, AIC's new stuff still sounds different than his solo albums, it sounds like Alice in Chains, and i will say as good as Jerry's solo albums are Alice in Chains with or without Layne is considerably better.

The man is gradually going bald, cut him a break. Even in this interview you can see how thin it is on top. When your hair gets that thin, it starts to look silly to keep it long. Let him keep cranking out great songwriting, since, ya know, that's what actually matters.
