As a 67yr old Irishman whose formative years were in the North of England in the early 70’s, i saw the huge migration of Pakistani men to work in the failing Textile Mills. My Language teacher cousin was persuaded by the local Educational Authorities to learn Urdu so that she could teach the Pakistani immigrant community English. Three generations later she is still teaching English solely in Urdu to these Pakistani School children ! There was no attempt to assimilate by a very significant minority of Pakistanis 😢 They have 7 mosques all of different Muslim sects within walking distance of their homes & regions of the towns in which you will not hear a single English word spoken ☝️ in one particular case a 3rd generation Pakistani boy openly declared that 74 of his relations had migrated to West Yorkshire, all off the back of his Grandfather’s migration. As a 67yr old Irishman whose formative years were in the North of England in the early 70’s, i saw the huge migration of Pakistani men to work in the failing Textile Mills. My Language teacher cousin was persuaded by the local Educational Authorities to learn Urdu so that she could teach the Pakistani immigrant community English. Three generations later she is still teaching English solely in Urdu to these Pakistani School children ! There was no attempt to assimilate by a very significant minority of Pakistanis 😢 They have 7 mosques all of different Muslim sects within walking distance of their homes & regions of the towns in which you will not hear a single English word spoken ☝️ in one particular case a 3rd generation Pakistani boy openly declared that 74 of his relations had migrated to West Yorkshire, all off the back of his Grandfather’s migration. Furthermore he proudly declared that all of them possess Pakistani passports not English ones. Some cultures will not assimilate.

Canadian( Irish decent) Both sides of my family came from Ireland in the 1840s. Mothers side sailed from Bantry Bay, fathers side came from Dungarvon area. My entire line from them to me born in 1959 were Irish Catholic. I brought this up in a social setting and comments made that I was white supremacy because of my pride in my roots.
