The British Army Murdered 13 People, No One Was Prosecuted
On January 30th, 1972, the British army shot and killed 13 people in the city of Derry/Londonderry. The soldiers had fired into a crowd of civil rights protestors, and yet somehow, no one was prosecuted. So how did the British government conspire to cover up the events, to protect themselves and their soldiers? What is the true story of Bloody Sunday?

My granddad as a 24 year old at the time freaked out when he heard what happened cause his 18 year old brother had went to the march, so he and his other brothers travelled to Derry to find him. @@TheBlaise91 Although to an outsider the term “United Ireland” seems to suggest the coming together of two separate areas of Ireland, many people (mostly from the unionist community) interpret this as the Republic completely absorbing the North into their country. Which in the Unionist view is the antithesis of everything they stand for. So in recent years the term “New Ireland “ has been used to suggest that if a border poll were to happen, the constitution would be have to be completely rewritten to accommodate people from all walks of life on the island of Ireland. This would be ensuring that in the hypothetical situation that it happened, that unionists wouldn’t be treated the same way catholics were when the original border was drawn in 1921. Could a poll happen in next 10/20 years? I think so. There are three main groups in the North; Unionists, Nationalists, and the middle ground who are fed up with Green and orange politics. In my opinion in order for it to be successful, the politicians need to convince the people in the middle that a “New Ireland” is the better alternative by actually showing them what a “New Ireland” would look like.

I'll wipe your tears away (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
I'll wipe your bloodshot eyes (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

      Sunday, Bloody Sunday
      Sunday, Bloody Sunday
      Sunday, Bloody Sunday
      Yeah, let's go
And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality

We eat and drink while tomorrow they die (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

The irony, I think, is that Bloody Sunday became such a cause in itself that without it (and the commitment to properly investigate it), there wouldn't have been enough impetus to get the peace talks over the line in 1998. And, as always, there was only one way this could possibly end - by sitting down, talking, with both sides admitting where they went wrong, and committing to never let it happen again.

This is sadly not the only “Bloody Sunday” to happen.
There was the one in 1920 in Croke Park. The British came in to a Gaelic Football match and started firing at the players and crowd. Killed 14 people and injured over 60. My Great GrandFather was the referee that day and had to pull bodies of players off the field. He was given a 21 gun salute by the IRA when he passed in the 1970’s.
My father use to tell me stories of hearing bombs going off as a kid constantly. The amount of cars being hijacked and used for bombs was at such a frequent event. Thankfully they moved to Canada in 1981. 🇨🇦

Thank you for once again sharing a fair perspective on important events with a catchy and interesting video. I have always had an eye of admiration towards your work ever since I first saw you on a Vox video years ago. This is why I struggle to understand why you would promote a company that was ruled by the FTC to have "engaged in deceptive data collection by pushing people to turn over sensitive information under the guise of it being confidential." The most important thing about therapy is that it should be confidential and selling user's data to third parties with the promise that they were being helped is despicable. Knowing your work and what you stand for I am puzzled by this choice and wonder whether it was due to your team believing betterhelp to be a safe platform or by negligence towards the issue. Once again, great video.

I would be grateful if you make a video on Jallianwala bagh massacre and Bengal famine. These are the most horrifying crimes ever committed in the history by Brits which many people are not aware of. If it's possible then please make a video on this & use your platform to educate people about this dark history. 🙏

My dad was in the police during the troubles during the late 70s to late 80s. His partner and best friend was killed, and he himself helped expose and deal with a bomb at a shopping complex. He eventually moved to Canada and had me and my siblings - its taken him a long time to talk about all of the violence. His accounts of what happened during his time there would be worthy of a movie.
