OH MAN THANK YOU! That's what I wanted to hear haha. I just finished my first playthrough, and completely forgot to give Blacksmith Ed the Searing Demon Soul. Was really worried I'd therefore not be able to get that Trophy and the Kings in the same New Game + Playthrough. The end of this video confirmed you can, so thanks haha Nice Guide :)

he was passive on Dec 28th up to the 25% if you decided to fight him to the end for the ring and armor the fight got harder
Poor Ostrava. Roaming around Boletaria only to find his father, King Allant consumed by evil and then commits suicide. I did everything I could in my play through to protect him until 1-4. There's so much lore to these souls games, it's so cool!

Hey, if you evacuate to forge northern regalia, how can you kill the maiden in black to do the bad ending of the game and obtain the Seekest soul power trophy? EDIT: Found the answer myself - you just go back to the nexus and touch the Archstone that brings you down and then you have the option to kill her.

If you damage Doran to about 50% health he becomes extremely difficult like the original. (You would kill him for his armor set and ring)

OK so someone dropped me the sword to have and no trophy popped, do I have to do the questline first to get it again

First time Demons Souls player here, and I gotta ask is it possible to just do all of Stonefang Tunnel Archstone to open up the rest of the Boletaria first area archstone and finish that area and THEN fight the sludge king allant? Or would i have to finish all the other respective archstones before getting that option. Thanks!
You need to kill every boss in order to access King Allant. Killing False King Allant isn't the trigger for going beneath the Nexus.

@@randompersonontheinternet5068 you just have to spam the blacksmith until he asks you for it. If he doesn’t the first couple of times time walk away and come back then he should ask for the searing demon soul

I didn't know the game would end like that. I thought there would be an option for NG+ and i can still go around world till i wanted to start NG+. Missed out on trophies like these RIP
Yea that only started in Dark Souls 2. Would've been nice if Bluepoint added the option here, but considering one of the ending requirements is to literally murder the level up NPC, I can see how that'd be tough haha.

@@RuneBa1 you just start the game over with all of your weapons, armor and upgrades. And in this game to start NG+ you have to beat the game. And it will automatically start the game over for you
Probably the best sword in the game, it does so much damage if you’re pure white/black tendency. And it’s really light. Only thing I would say might top it is dragon bone smasher with curse weapon for bosses

Yep. A new archstone shows up in the nexus that brings you to the boss area.

After you get the sword demon brandt, can you still kill Old King Doran? Will that affect the gameplay of forging the Northern Regalia?
Yep, you can kill him without hesitation.
Hes passive in the beginning because he wants you to "prove yourself", then he goes agro
Oh definitely, he just seemed a little too passive when compared to the original PS3 version.
Hey I have a compound short bow +9 is there anyway I can de level the bow to +7 so I can get the lava bow?
You'd have to reset it to a regular short bow, I'm afraid. They improved this in Dark Souls a bit, but left it this way in the Remake of Demon's Souls.
I’d recommend just keeping it since you’d be wasting materials and just pick it up again in ng+
If I give blacksmith Ed the flame demon soul and start a new game do I have to do it again to be able to forge swords ?

Please help me! I have all required items and went into new game plus. I flipped the switch so i can get to Ed on 2-1 and it doesn’t give me the option to upgrade demon brandt or soul brandt.... I gave him the red hot lurking soul or whatever in the first go, do I need to beat the flame lurker again?
Yes, you need to beat Flamelurker again to get the soul. It counts as a key, and resets in every NG cycle.

you have to do the Mausoleum Key quest for him to show up on the stairs

Yes, you keep everything except for keys.

I have all three items (False King Demon Soul, Demonbrandt, and Soulbrandt), along with the Flamelurker's soul, yet when I speak with Ed, there's no prompt to upgrade to Northern Regalia. What do I do?
You'll need to keep having new conversations with him until he asks for the soul. Then he'll be able to craft weapons with your boss souls.

if i do use an archstone shard after killing the true king and i return to the area after crafting the northern regalia will i be able to re-enter that area and finish the game?

Yeah, the original Doran was the hardest npc in the game.
He was very agressive and would time attacks perfectly

He was never hard at all. He was only cheap with a 1 shot. That isn't hard. Always easy to cheese by poisoning him and hiding behind the statue.
I am in ng+, and i get both sword and souls required, but ed didnt’t craft with boss souls. Do i have to beat again 2-2?
Yes, unless you have a searing demon soul in your inventory.
Watched this video and you said that you can find his dead body there if you didnt complete his quest line, I helped him in 1-1 but I didnt help him in the rest if the levels, i didnt see his dead body on the stairs and his BP appeared. I looked for him in all areas of the map he wasnt there.

In order to get the key you would either need to help Ostrava in 1-1, 1-2 & 1-3 (all three need to be completed which allows you to see him in 1-4 at the stairs) OR you kill him in 1-1 (which is easier). If either of these are not done you will be unable to get the key until NG+.
Im trying to give black smith Ed the two swords and the flamlurker soul he won't take it how do you get him to fuse the two swords
Keep speaking with him and he'll eventually see the Searing Demon Soul in your inventory and ask for it. Keep starting new conversations with him until he asks,
Also, if you went into NG+, you lose the soul and have to kill Flamelurker again.

Yep! There will be an archstone in the nexus that you can use to teleport back down to the beach. DO NOT JUMP DOWN THE PIT.
Strange... I never have seen that dude in the armour that gives you the key, and I havent beaten the game yet, but I still beat that night, then got swiftly killed by King guy. Wonder how I got it.
An enemy probably kill him at one point and you just picked up the key he drops not realizing that's what it was.
What if you just beat the game? Post credits. I have both swords from beating the game but the game seems to have taken all my boss souls? Can I still get the sword?
You retain boss souls between playthroughs, so it's possible you used them or placed them in storage.
Well I did miss the key because somehow I helped him the first time but he never appeared for me the 2nd or 3rd time. He must of died somewhere in the first area but I looked all over and there's no key
same. I was so mad. once I started NG+ killed him right away to make sure that wasn't going to happen again. lol

Nope, nothing at all aside from the blacksmith.

It didn’t work with me man. Maybe it’s because I don’t have my magic requirement for one of the sword. But I have all the items you mentioned but when I talk to ed to upgrade the sword the sword doesn’t even show there. It only shows other items I have

It is missable, yes. You'll have to try again on NG+.

Negative. You can't get any loot in other people's worlds. You'll have to wait until NG+
After you best the final boss and get the soul can you use the archstone to get ba ck to 1-1 or do you have to run the whole way?
Which final boss are you talking about? The one in 1-4?

You killed Flamelurker again in NG+? The soul doesn't carry over from NG to NG+. Make sure you keep starting new conversations with him if you do, as the Talk option in his menu won't prompt him to ask you for the soul.
Why this -85 in physical attack and this +54 in magical attack? The damage in pure character tendency should be 135+135 and 135+135
his character strength is 19 and the sword is 20 thats why and the tendency doesn’t matter

You need the searing demon Soul to craft boss weapons. Think of that one like a key that unlocks an ability for Ed. Alant's Soul is required for the northern regalia, specifically.

You said that you can’t miss the mausoleum key and that it didn’t matter if you helped him or not. I did not help him, his corpse wasn’t there, only his red phantom, and no key. Now what?
It's on his corpse, no matter where he dies. Check back in 1-1, 1-2, or 1-3. In 1-1, he's up on a ledge where you find the Thief Ring. For 1-2, you can find him in a tunnel if you backtrack when you get underneath the bridge. In 1-3, he can be found fighting against a red eye knight and some guards near the portcullis that the Fat Official drops. And in 1-4, he's on the steps.
If he's in none of those locations, it's possible that he died while you weren't around and you'll need to wait until NG+ to do this.
I believe omni directional rolling really messes up the AI. Iv seen a ton of videos of the old AI just falling apart after someone omni direction rolls.
I dont think the old AI is reacting correctly to the new rolls or something. Maybe its just me.

Bluepoint said that they used the original game's code, but weren't specific on what exactly that means.
Yeah... Granted this game was made awhile back and this is what the players know and love. If they were to change that as well many would think it's not even demon souls anymore. I personally like that they kept the AI the same kinda like playing a some what easy souls game for once, and yeah the other games aren't that hard but compared to this demon souls is easier but that's only because of when it was made.

Damage scaling is based on character tendency. So ideally, you'd want to be at either pure white or pure black to maximise damage of this weapon.
Wait why was Ostrava in my game a red phantom I helped him in in 1-1,1-2,1-3 but he was attacking me I got his sword and shield but no key
you have to save him all three times for the quest.
Just kill him in 1-1 before you help him the first time and you’ll get the key from his body
I have the Soulbrandt, Demonbrandt & the old king boss soul but he won’t offer to upgrade...
first you have to talk to him several times while having the flamelurker soul on yourself. once he asks for that and you give it to him he will start forging/upgrading special weapons.
Hes very easy until you take the fight passed 50 percent health i think. Then he will start rushing you down.
Yea I have to fight him for his ring at some point, so I'm hoping it goes better.

Lol I actually cheesed him at the very beginning of the game. His armor and ring helped me A LOT! I just headbutted him all the way back to the stairs and sent him down with a thank you.

For the poeple Who have trouble with blacksmith ed. Press talk until he says:THE HIGHEST GRADE OF ALL TEXT. Then leave and talk him again give searing soul. Then it will work.
How weird. King Doran started attacking me, then I got his health down to 60% and the Doran sword lit up, so I picked it up and now his not even doing anything anymore, just standing there like a lemon. Is that normal?
Yes, this is normal. If you attack him for a while longer, he'll turn fully hostile. Your first encounter with him is a test. Once you drop him to like 75%, he turns friendly again and gives you the sword.

Yes, exactly. It gets stronger in Pure White or Pure Black character tendency.

You get the Ancient King's Set, Eternal Warrior's Ring and your world tendency drops by 2.
The Demonbarndt and the SouldBrandt swords do not appear when i go to upgrade weapon :( is it because my character's tendency is pure black?

He needs to have been rescued in order for him to appear in 1-4.
I think my game glitched on me, I have all 30 rings and for some odd reason it says I have 28 rings. And last, I took these two swords to the black smith and when I go to the upgrade weapon menu, nothing shows up.
All rings need to be obtained on a single character.

Just did this fight with the king today on NG++ and was pretty easy. His move is the same as in this video. How ever, to make this fight a lot easier make sure to wear the thief ring. Agro him and run for a bit, once he turn back just run after him and backstab him. You won't have to run far, so because of the thief ring he loses agro really fast. I used my meat cleaver with cursed enchant and got backstabbed him for around 200 dps. He might reset and get 100% hp back but that only happened if you pull him too far away from his spawn point.
Also, when your at the final boss....remember that you can't level up anymore. Its good to know this because if you want to level, you can't do the final boss and get the sword/item for the Northern Regalia. I didn't, because I thought once I teleport out of that place (last boss room) you can just keep leveling, But you can't.
PS! killing the King like I did makes you lose tendency.

Yes. You need to give him the Searing Demon Soul from Flamelurker. It does not carry into NG+, so you have to do it in every playthrough.

Keep talking to him and he'll ask for the Searing Demon Soul if it's in your inventory.

Have you killed Flamelurker on your current playthrough? Also, talking to him using the Talk option in his menu won't work. You need to start new conversations with him over and over until he asks for it.

The searing demon Soul is a key item that resets on every NG cycle. So you'll need to kill flamelurker again, then speak with Ed and he'll ask for the soul.

You need to start fresh conversations with him. Using the Talk option won't work.

I don't remember PS3's Northern Regalia sucking this bad. I'm on NG+ and it takes 3-4 hits just to kill common enemies. Why? This is supposed to be the strongest weapon? I remember playing through PS3's DS up to NG+4 and never had this issue. My Long Sword+10 is doing way more damage.
It scales based on character tendency. At pure white or pure black, it does big damage.
Hahaha i feel bad. I went to king doran earlier than people are supposed to and i literally made doran follow me out to a tower and punched the shit out of him till he fell off the stairs and died on the floor to pick up everything...lol

One of the strongest weapons in the game
The weapon can’t be upgraded, it scales based on your world tendency so it’s busted if you’re at either pure black or white
@@chillz1917 It scales on character tendency not world tendency. If you're at either pure white or pure black it has a 540 attack rating.

Ostrava doesn't have anything to with Soulbrandt. It drops after you kill the final boss.
Ostrava drops the Mausoleum Key when he dies in 1-4, which lets you get Demonbrandt. If you're in NG+, then his quest resets and he'll go back to 1-1. If you've already passed his location in 1-4, and he's not there, then he may have died somewhere along the way in 1-1, 1-2, or 1-3. You'd need to start NG+2 at that point.

His corpse might be up in the rafters at the top of the staircase. Did his black phantom invade you just before the boss elevator?
@@SweetJohnnyCage no unfortunately still couldn't find his body anywhere. The black phantom right before the elevator only dropped a rune sword and shield
