Honestly it was a pleasure! I didn’t know what to expect but you are a remarkably creative and thoughtfully nuanced performer! If you think of anything we can do together I’d be up for it. Maybe I could interview you via Zoom or something. I love finding out what makes people tick.

Thanks for analyzing this performance! Lolli Wren has some earlier performances but I believe this music video is a new standard of production for her and she has more videos and an album produced that she plans on releasing soon.
Also since you discovered contemporary beatboxing through Jairo recently, you might enjoy on her channel she has a lesson exchange with the beatboxer River who was the 2023 grand beatbox battle champion. She’s one of the most adventurous vocal coaches I’ve found and it’s great to see her releasing more of her own performances after seeing her breakdown so many different vocal techniques and styles.

Wow! That sounds like it would be really interesting. I mean it’s all the same instrument. But I still feel like it would be an odd lesson. Figuring out where to begin would be challenging.

I discovered Lolli's channel a few years ago or so when I first went down the reaction rabbit hole. I used to just watch Elizabeth Zharoff's channel (The Charsmatic Voice) not for reactions but rather for her expert vocal analysis. When Elizabeth did her first Jinjer reaction I fell in love with Jinjer...became a huge Jinjer fan. Also, I discovered that I liked reactions, as I started watching every reaction to Pisces I could get my hands on. This is when I discovered Lolli on FVM. A lot of reactors have different layers of expertise that they bring to the table...yours is from a production standpoint...But Lolli is the only one I've seen that rivals Elizabeth in terms of vocal production knowledge. In fact, I would place her a tiny sliver of a percentage higher than Elizabeth only because Lolli so effortlessly and instantly mimics any vocal sound she hears. She is truly an amazing vocal expert, and a little mocking bird. If you don't want to watch her reactions, which I completely understand, you should check out the few songs she's done on her "Lolli Wren" channel. They are not reactions, they are just her performances. There's only a few, and they are all wonderful. Though I would also recommend to anyone that they check out her reactions, even if only the ones that are songs you've already reacted to, so as to not spoil your own potential reactions, because she has a wonderful way about her that is instantly likeable, and it's sad that anyone would miss out on that.

Haha I think that reaction opened a lot of people’s eyes to Jinjer! 😄
The little I have seen of Lolli seems to track with everything you have said. I’ll probably start watching her channel a little more on videos I’m certain I won’t cover. I just don’t like the idea of being subconsciously influenced by other channels. I tend to do that with everything. It’s why I can’t really listen to much music when I’m writing. 🤣

The great thing about her reactions is that she accurately mimics the artist at hand to illustrate the functions to get there. Even matching Dimash and a lot of Diana Ankudinova, no small feat. I think we’re just getting a glimpse of her incredible talent

What’s great is that she seems to have connected with incredibly creative and talented people to help her express herself fully. Eduardo’s work on I can’t decide is absolutely brilliant. A fine vocalist needs a quality collaborator to really get the best out of their voice. Much like Dimash has Igor Krutoy.
Not sure if Lolli and Eduardo’s work will be ongoing, but I hope so. They really compliment each other.

Great reaction, I’ve followed Lolli more or less since her YT channel existed, she’s such a loveable person!
Technically she doesn’t categorise herself in any vocal terminology at all, she believes that anyone can extend their voice lower and higher if you know or how taught how!
This song is straight from her heart, that’s why it’s so good!
Your reaction was excellent, you have a pretty good interpretation of it!
Edit: she did a cover of Lilac wine by Jeff Buckley, it’s really nice!

BTW, she sings a lot in her lower register. A lot more than one would think for a girl that can hit whistle pitches.

I've vistied Lolli's Reactor site many times and aside from her Master Class understanding of ALL nuances of vocal delivery - which she also has great skills in teaching others, she can produce each and every one perfectly. She has a seriously good voice, far FAR better and far more skilled than many female artists currently out there making mega-bucks,doing formulaic and over studio-enhanced stuff. Whenever Lolli sings a line of what she's just heard I press pause and shout at my screen; "For God's Sake girl! Do your own STUFF!" Which she IS doing, including Covers, but I think it's a bit scattergun across different styles at present. I don't want to say she's wasted as a teacher, not at all, but I truly believe if she finds her own niche, get a couple of real hits out there, her own career can take off, and teaching can come later.
Her voice is gorgeous and so flexible, and she has a very broad range. I have seen Lolli sing Anything she chooses! This is not my favourite, whilst delivered well, and she's put her own spin on it, it doesn't have enough dynamic flow or shifts (for my tastes). Probably also because of the depressive theme...

Thanx, I really wasn't expecting that with all the requests I throw at you this would be done first. The way you spoke with regard to classically trained voices was interesting but I think regardless of genre voices are unique enough that if vocalists are singing with their own voice, rather than copying another, most can be identified: Lolli, Ute Lemper, Barbara Hannigan, Diana Damrau, Lena Lovich, Kate Bush, Diamanda Galas, Yma Sumac every unique woman brings something unique to a piece so you know who that are but perhaps more importantly they choose the pieces they sing to an audience but I bet they sing different works when no one is listening like Sid singing My Way you an tell its not Frank

I don't know man, have you ever watched a singing contest show? There are many classifiable voices due to popular trends and influential singers that become difficult to tell apart.. Back in the day, everyone wanted to sound like Whitney or Mariah, these days there is a gamut of young singers with particular "indie artist" affectations that make them hard to tell apart. I guess confidence comes from putting your actual self out there and not hiding behind someone else's 'thing'.
Hell even I fell victim to that "Seatle voice" in the 90s, (lets be honest it was Eddie Vedder syndrome) ;)

Great cover by Lolli, very emotional! You seem to like new talent, you should check out the following artists, Gabriel Henrique on I Want To Know What Love Is on a rooftop with Coral Black to Black, amazing talent! Sydnie Christmas who just won Britain's Got Talent starting with her Golden Buzzer performance of Tomorrow, very talented comedian and vocalist! Abi Carter the first woman to win American Idol in 5 years with her audition of What Was I Made For! That should get you started with them!

Lots of modern day singers that will never be or do what they are passionate about .... they struggle then get a big break to sing songs that sells to society today and be controlled by the wealthy music companies .... to me that is the trap , that is the rut .... you can either do and sing your passion and perhaps struggle and make no $$$ , or you stay true and do the local scene and stay true to your path .... in the end , a singer is like a new car ..... next year you are old news if you don't do and obey what the big studios say ...
