7:15 this tip saved my life. I was switching out my original 8GB for practice but i put it back in the same slot. All of a sudden it wouldnt post and i was freaking out. I would never have thought to switch slots with my new ram stick. Thanks a lot for the advice!

Yes it is very common, because the BIOS keeps thinking that you have one ram and not added anything and doesn't do a MEM check, but when you remove the rams and change places and when the laptop is turning on the bios realizes that the initial ram is not the same as before and it will go to MEM heck mode.

Just recently got this laptop, and although the processor and graphics card are really good, the RAM is a bit lacking at only 8. I wrongfully assumed that this would be some really difficult process, but instead it's surprisingly straightfoward. Thank you for the video. Hey thanks for the content, really helped me as I've been sick and tired of how small my memory was so planning on adding a new ssd and upgrade my RAM while I'm at it, just 1 question about the vid though, on the example you used it said 4 slots available but when you opened the back it only showed 2, was this because you used two different machines as an example? I'm guessing the 4 was a pc and the 2 was just for the laptop? :)

Regarding your question, this laptops only have 2 ram slots available, the max ram capacity video is an example of how to check the "max ram capacity" it is not specific to this model, it is for general laptop /pc.
in this laptop you can easily place 2x 16gb for total of 32gb, that is enough for most of the gaming and applications.

I have the Acer Nitro an515-57 model, it comes with 8gb RAM, which shows 3200mhz in the memory settings, I want to add another 8gb RAM but I'm not sure which RAM to buy. Please help.

Regarding your question, you got two options:
option one:
keep that 8GB, and just add another stick of 16gb (link in the video description)
or
recommended option is remove the 8gb that you have and get a 32gb kit 2x16gb (link in the video description)

Hi why my laptop keep auto restart after upgrade the ram?
then you have to update the bios and then try and if it keeps doing the restart then you may have a bad ram return it and get a different brand.
Is it fine to do a double 32gb? I want a max performance per upgrade but I'm not sure if 64 total would be too much.

Regarding your question, go with 2x 16gb and trust me that will hit the max limit of the CPU, 64gb is useless for gaming,

Is it okay to add Ram without disconnecting the battery? Im gonna upgrade ram and im doing it for 1 st time.. Just needed to make sure if its okay to add ram without disconnecting the battery.
regarding your question: it is totally safe to upgrade the ram as long as the laptop if OFF, no need to disconnect the battery, unless you think you will be dropping the ram and screws over the motherboard.

@@uFixTek Thank you! I actually have one more question. I need some more space, and I am planning on buying an external harddrive. My current one that I bought works for some games like fortnite (runs slowly at the start), skyrim etc, but does not work for alot of older and newer games. Are there any you could recommend that work well for gaming? Some people tell me that external harddrives are terrible while others tell me they work fine.

Regarding your question, yes that is normal that's how it works on laptops, the bios of the laptop and motherboard will adjust to the safe speed of the ram to run, in PC bios you can turn on an XMP mode to push the ram speed to max, unfortunately in laptops that option is not available.

@@uFixTek i later found out the ram i order was actually a 3200mt/s ram which is equivalent to 2933mhz which ended up downgrading my ram frequency

These laptops come with mixed RAM configurations. The specific RAM in each unit varies based on manufacturing times and the availability of RAM stock. When we opened several new laptops of the same exact model, we consistently found different RAM configurations.

🫠Regarding your question, have you cleaned and repasted the CPU/GPU?, how long you had the laptop without servicing, if the CPU or GPU over heats it will slow and underperform.

I have got Inaccessible boot device

what is a msg you get on screen. or when you trying to go to bios you get an error?

Plus my gpu got error 43 , I think I might have damage it when i was cleaning the fans n thermal paste
i hope you use a good paste and not any conductive paste, i recommend you to reopen and check the connections and use a good brand paste like: thermal grizzly
you problem is in hardware.
