Teddy Pendergrass was one of the greatest singers that ever lived, but it makes me sad seeing him be paralyzed like this because of his 1982 car accident, and he was never the same like from before the car accident and I really wish that he hadn't been involved in it.

It's related primarily to his diaphragm; and to a lesser extent his lower body ( being able to stand greatly assists the diaphragm).
What an honor to be his backing band at that time.
