    It's so sad a month after this concert a car acciden't changed his life forever. He was amazing. I listen and watch his videos all the time. No singer today can top him in live entertainment. What a wonderful legacy of music he left for us. R.I.P TEddy.

    Seen Teddy once after the accident; ... and only wished I could have thanked him personally for the many times his music made my night pure heaven with the girl I love. Like Teddy, she's gone now also ... this music is priceless to me.

    That Showtime documentary brought me here… this man was a LEGEND and I remember his music playing in my house as child on Saturday mornings… what a helluva singer he was .. live or studio

    Man, if not for that tragic car accident he was involved in not too long after doing this show Teddy would've been duking it out with Luther for top spot on the R&B charts for the rest of the 80s and possibly well into the 90s. His solo career at this point was still on the rise with no real slowdown in sight. One can only imagine, though...

    I am so embarrassed to say I didn’t know of this song until Mac Royals on The Voice performed this song before he was eliminated. It gave me goosebumps and was performed so beautifully that I went looking for the original version to see how he made it his own. What a blessing this song is to the world. And you Mr. Pendergrass would be so proud of how your music lives on! Rest in Peace! This was an effortless performance. Gosh, we miss music like this!

    I am 26 years old n grew up listening to this man but neva paid him ne attn until now n he was AMAZING! His voice is/was HEAVENLY, his performance, background singers, band, his emotions n the pain n his face while singing, his moves n this man was ahead of his time.     His documentary on showtime is 🔥 ..glad I got to see him in concert one time..amazing voice, great performer....we screamed a lot. I remember that..🎼🎼🎼

    Fantastic singer! His voice is very smooth. He and Freddy Jackson have always been my favorite. Greggory Abbott is my 3rd favorite

    What a real and true performer, I wish I had the chance to see him live. Saw so many in the past Heatwave and the Spinners are up there. The real thing that stands out is the performance, its so honest.

    You're so right! A marked difference from his time with HM. His voice got smooth as silk and mellowed like fine wine! A rare gift these days!!
