Look at "Marine Sales Scotland" based in Loch Lomond. They do tours of boats £20k to £120k range. OK you might not travel that far for a boat but it's an insight into the types of boats at this price.
Such a refreshing change from the many, many sport cruisers (aka: speedboats) featured here. And relevant to far more of your viewership too, Nick. Good one!
The entire tour was worth it just to see that simple engineering of the spring on the hob. As an RV tech I can appreciate simple and effective engineering. Good on you Nick!
I think I hear Bob Barker in the background calling out, “Come on down, the price is right”. What a nice little boat. I could easily see myself spending weekends on this little beauty.
Back in the 80's I came across this stack of magazines about boating somebody was throwing away, it was fun to browse and I lent them to my neighbor who owned several small boats but never got the magazines back. I wish I could have those again and compare with boats today ...
I did try to buy one of these locally a few years back was just piped at the post, being a landrover fan myself this appealed to my practical side. Really like these, a lot . Great choice for your viewers Nick 👍
Another great little get away boat Nick... My boats like my cars and my home are tools.. I do not much care for fancy.. I use them to give me enjoyment an to work for me at times.. thanks Nick for another nice practical boat tour.
Very similar layout to my merry fisher 805. These sorts of things are the boats that seem to get lost use in the Marina and are ideal for the uk. Great boats and really nice to see something more relevant to my budget!! Great vids Nick.
@@AQUAHOLIC while the weather is not exactly boating weather I pass the time watching your boating video's that I have missed and this month's MBY has just been delivered by the postman so I will be totally engrossed in that for the rest of the afternoon nick!
Hi Nick. An awesome boat. Very reasonably priced. A nanni engine for economy, good range at low speeds. Practical interior. Great walkthrough tour thanks 😊
I wonder what sort of range this boat has... (checks all other videos)... about 250 miles 😀🤣 Should say that I absolutely love your videos. They are not only inspiring ideas about having our own boat BUT they have given us some really cool ideas about how to maximise space in our home. It's not small, but having the mindset that all these wasted spaces can be utilised is just fantastic.
Amazing how well the woodwork has stood up to 15 years of use. So much to be said for simplicity and I suspect these older boats are quite sturdily made in the days before everything was measured out to the gram. For 43k I'd forgo the oven and not bother to shower for a few days.
I had one of these and we found it a fantastic boat and very safe. The grandchildren loved it. We upgraded to a Merry Fisher 925 (like the boat adjacent to the Antares) which was a whole new bigger world with extended horizons. I’m sure your followers would be interested in a tour of one of these on the channel if you could do it. As ever, thanks for the video. John
Brilliant tour!! Great boats and I can see why they are so popular. If they were big enough for my needs they’d be on the shopping list for sure. Thanks Nick 👍👍
And Thank you Nick for this nice show of this Beneteau Antares 760 a nice little boat with a lot accomodation in there I like this one to cruise the coast or the nice rivers and lakes a great show and a nice price ash well thank you Nick
Practical Fun - two words rarely used to describe one boat. But Beneteau has done it - clever folks. Well laid out with everything to hand, to quote Nick's favorite journalistic phrase. Yet step across from the helm, after engaging Auto Pilot and have a lean against a cushion and let yourself be taken away by the rhythm of the waves. But wait - there's more - its cheap as well. I'm not saying cost effective like I'm counting pennies - I'm saying CHEAP. Cheap to buy. Cheap to run. Cheap to keep. Cheap. Practical. Fun.
Excellent video Nick, this is very nice boat, it tick's a lot of boxes, you probably be able to fit a small generator and a freezer in the lazarette, i am impressed from the width of the side decks
Well I wasn’t sure at first Nick as not really my style BUT... I was pleasantly surprised! What a little crackeroony!!! For the money it’s a smashing little boat with a lot of appeal. The saloon was actually quite nice (gloss wood - check!) & if you wanted to spend a few quid on new upholstery/little touches... this one is a WINNER! 👍🏻
I think this was owned by someone who was very passionate about sailing it. Not just caring for the boat but using it. Like Nick said, it's like a Land Rover, and this one would have 150,000 miles on it, have a single spot of rust, have hand-made arm rests and run like a dream. Hopefully her new owner will keep that up. Perfect as a starter boat, and I'll bet that if it stays as well maintained as it is now, it'll actually go up in value. Love it!
We just sold our Antares 650 o/b and my brother has bought an Antares 9 twin inboard diesel. Lots to do to get ready for the season. We splash in a month.
Car performance is often expressed in bhp per tonne, if you expressed boat performance in fun per pound, this is clearly great value! Nice to see some lower cost options on the channel, it would be great to have your advice on options for those with £50k or £75k budgets…?
lol Great video as always nic, Simlar to the merryfisher 805. But i think the 805 is slightly better in the you have a door to the front cabin as apposed to a curtain, the co pilot seating can be reversed to look forward or towards the table. Also has a ladder onto the cabin roof which makes a nice sunbathing area.
What a nice, low maintenance little boat. She'd make for a great inexpensive way to get on the water to see if you like it. The resale might be more than your paid so a great investment also. 👍
Great review Nick, it’s always been a boat I wanted. Not a criticism Nick, but surprised you didn’t mention the throttle at the back of the boat that was near to where your bag was, great idea for just trolling along.
It looks to me that the navigator seat can also be fitted with the seat back flipped around; you mentioned it lays flat for the berth. I think there is a slot for it to fit in reverse to sit there facing forward.
I have a 2007 and I brought it in 2009. I live in the Guernsey Channel Islands. And I take it to France quite often for two weeks at a time. not the last two years with Covid.
Love this boat I just wish it was a little older so I could afford it say about 30,000 euros older lol ! Sorry it is not that I am cheap because I am to a degree ; but I am also responsible for a lot of family too so owning about boat for me is like a dream that may never come true ! At least I can see your videos and live vicariously through your channel !
Thumbs up again Nick , what about range and speed , obviously the later is not going to be high but still interested all the same . Regards as always 😀👍👍👍
Nick! I am not a real buyer of those yachts and boats that you advertise, but, I am a real buyer of them personally from you if I have the slightest chance to buy them! And this day will surely come! By the way, I can buy your beautiful leather handbag today!?
After showing my Wife the small yaught features on this channel, I don't think she'd be willing to settle for something like this, but if I were single I'd get one in a heartbeat
Hey Nick, I didn’t hear you say what the range was. I assume it would be in line with others at 250 ish. Also what is the cruising speed might be. Just wondering. Thanks
In this video, opposite this boat, on the right, is a Falcon 23 sports cruiser. I’ve had one for over 10 years. Would love to hear your views on them - I’ve found it a fantastic all-rounder for the size, with great performance and sea handling. They can be had for around 10k too. That said, I nearly bought the Antares 8.80 last year!
That would be a riot to fish off of in the inlets/a few miles off the coast in Florida, my neck of the woods. I'd kinda question taking this thing more than 4-5 miles off the coast in the North Sea though. What I like about this boat is I wouldn't feel guilty about tracking muck, fish slime, dirt into it. Although I'd have to figure out a way to put a cut table and grill on this boat. I'd filet the our catch then blacken it in my huge ass cast iron pan. Need a hot grill sitting outside to do that, hopefully nobody sees the smoke and calls the coast guard thinking we are on fire lol.
The boat I want for a price I can actually afford! Wow - this is a real eye-opener - not surprised they fly off the shelf. Cheers Nick.

Do I have the right info l,mf 805 is just 7.3 waterline ?
I was thinking so much about 805 and 760 and in the end I choosed the antares 😊
Love how you always take your shoes off Nick shows respect for the owner...Whether £50,000 or £6000,000,000 yacht..

that spring engineering is so cool, i would have something mechanical like that over a power operated cover 1000 times out of 1000
I checked the cruising speed. Apparently it likes to go at 18 knots. Very respectable for such a low cost, comfy boat.
