Using your funds towards a condo is kinda a nightmare. There’s a lean put on condo. When selling your condo it’s a nightmare to have lean removed. It take a long time. I bought a condo with lean from PRA on it. It took a lot of work and time to have it removed.
Hi John: Thanks again for Great info & content. I would be very interested in the SRRV Classic age 62 with pension (non-military). What would do I need to do now here in (California) before I arrive in Cebu Nov 2023? Keep the great video coming!!!
Thank you very much. I'd recommend reaching out to Heidi and her team from their website. I left contact info in the description. I'm always trying to learn more about this, but for sure they will be able to point you in the right direction more than me. If you have any other video ideas you'd like me to cover let me know! Looking forward to seeing you over here.
I have a question. I wish to retire in the Philippines and I have a lady chair and we started a store and catering business that is currently doing well. I 'm bringing retirement SSI income plus revenue from business to live together . we will get married when I get to the phillipines. what could I do for a permanent stay.
I think working at a Philippines company for an older foreigner might be out of the cards unless you have some special skills. Age discrimination is rampant and you are required by law to retire at age 65.
@WatchCaliforniaExpat In most jobs that are public facing towards the public, most likely not. Maybe some merchandise exporting company where clients in other Asian countries attribute some kind of prestige value to Westerners, would be a good fit.
Thanks John and Heidi great info You just saved me a phone call to John. Heidi I have a question about veterans visa. I have 2 years 8 months of service in U.S. Air Force. Received a general under Honorable condition discharge . Do I qualify for veterans visa?
Hi Thomas! Yes, as long as you can produce proof that you rendered military service and get that proof apostilled, as well as proof that you’re receiving pension or social security (also needs to be apostilled). Feel free to reach out if you have more questions. Hope this helps.
Hello thank you for this information, how can i get in touch with Heidi to get the SRRV for Veterans. I would like to start this process right away. TIA
John I need an application for the line I am sure Heidi has has fo a suitor actually have scheduled an appointment for Tuesday with her organization for SRRV i will be visiting in October Thank you enjoy the day
Hello great video can you help me with information I have been living in the Philippines for eight years my girlfriend and I own our house no rent I live on a ss check over one thousand a month I do not have ten thousand dollars or twenty thousand what are my options to stay in the Philippines Thank you very much
Its a tricky question. My initial answer is that it depends on the health issues, and where you live. If you are in Manila at a hospital like St Lukes you should be fine. If a city like Cebu, then look at Maayo Hospital or Chong Hua. There are excellent doctors and specialists here, though not all, and not all hospitals have everything needed depending on the health issues.
Is this service still recommended as I did not see them on the PRA website for recommended marketers? I am seriously considering them as they have a reasonable price and offer so much but want to be sure that they are still recommended. Thank you for the great content grateful United States veteran
Yes they're a great company that has helped me personally getting my investors visa. I've always heard positive feedback from anyone I've referred them to.
I was also wondering about that, turns out they ARE listed under the PRA website, under "CAJES AND GLAESSER CONSULTING", you'll see from the listing that's them :)
I have a former filipino spouse (U.S. citizen now) age 46 and I am retired military. Would you suggest we get a SRRV under her or under me using my veteran status? Additionally, we have a son who will be 18 when we come there and he wants to attend college for at least 6 years. What happens to him as he enters adulthood? Can he continue to live there and could he gain employment after he gets his Masters or Doctorate degree?
HI I will apply for a SRRV visa soon and was hoping you could help me with some information. I understand it takes approximately 3 months from the application date to secure a retirement visa . I travel often, so would it be possible to either travel away from the Philippines during this processing period or halt the application process temporarily until I return to the country ? And , I also understand there is a $ 7000 tax exemption available for bringing personal possessions into the Philippines for the first time. Would this tax exemption extend to the importation of a motorbike??
I'm not sure on that. You can reach out to C&G Consulting and tell them John Smulo sent you cgconsulting.ph and they'll give a free consultation where you can ask questions.
I have my DD-214 and investment dividend income right now. Hopefully that will suffice and I don't have to wait to apply until I start getting SSI benefits
I am not clear, is Social Security payments equal to or greater then $800 USD the same as getting a Pension? And if I am getting Social Security in excess of $800 per month, am I qualified to make $10,000 deposit or is it still $20,000? Thank for the video and information.
So is true that if you have any type of criminal background and I mean anything….. Philippine government denies you a retirement visa? Are there any exceptions to this rule….like the age of the crime if it was over 25 years ago?
Not sure on that. If you are looking to get a visa here and have questions I'd recommend getting in touch with Heidi's company and they would be able to answer.
You can be on a tourist visa for that long but you have to keep renewing it every month or two or three months etc depending on how long you've been here. The benefit of the other visas is you won't have to keep renewing so often and you can get a bank account etc
HI John; great video, thanks for taking teh trouble to cover this topic - of great interest to many!! I'm interested in knowing, when you have retirement visa in Philippines, what impact on your local (ie Philippines) tax position. I realise people coming from multiple other countries means the non-local tax position is - it depends. But in Philippines, do you know whether Philippines seeks to tax foreign retirees on their worldwide income and gains, or only on locally-arising income and taxable gains? Does it change if you take a 13A visa instead? I realise that this may not be easy to answer. Does Heidi's company cover this aspect? What has been your experience? Any thoughts or pointers welcome!
Great information. I am a retired US Army vet with my pension for my service. I would differently use Heidi and her company when I am ready to make my move to the Philippines. I am looking at about two years from now. I would differently want to start my VISA before I come there. Is this possible? Thank you both so much for all you shared.

If a veteran got an SRRV, and later married a Filipina, would he be required to downgrade to the 13A spousal visa, or could he just stay on the SRRV?
to the best of my knowledge he could stay on the SRRV
Good info. How does the 10,000 work with a long-term lease? can you do a mortgage to buy condos?

No you can't,
I already asked that question because I bought a condo 7 years ago and asked the SRRV . They told me sorry sir not allowed
Can you tell us some of the reasons why the SIRV (investor visa) would make more sense for some people. Thanks
If you are 21 years old you can apply for the SIRV visa. I would use it if you are under the age requirement. Invest in one of the allowed companies.
If you weren't married to a Filipina, weren't of retirement age, it would be the core option left.
