Each time I watch an SRRV Expanded Courtesy visa RUclips, I pick up a few additional pieces of information. Yours was very, very good and I appreciate your good works! The cost of the apostille, while I am still in the US, is $15 per document. One service wanted to outsource and charge me $225 per document. I will do this part myself and save $630 [$225-$25=$210x3=$630].

great info, 23 months to go before I can apply for the SRRV Mil Courtesy Visa. I've already been living in PI on a tourist visa/renewals since JUL 22, it won't break my heart to stop going to BI Offices. On another subject I did my first exit clearance last month and it was kind of a pain in the butt because they wanted me to start it only a week out from departure then return a couple days before leaving, wish BI (Makati office) allowed you to start the process earlier. When I went through immigration at the airport they did not even ask for the exit clearance, I guess its a hit or miss from the agents. But back to SRRV, I will definitely reach out as I get closer to being eligible for SRRV. Thanks for the info, keep up the good work.

@Chris-Yi-Yang it's at Ayala Circuit Mall 5th floor above movie theatre. I've been going there for over a year. If you are doing 2 month extensions with express service it's usually only a 15 minute wait or less

    • @hoax1017
      @hoax1017 10 месяцев назад +1

As far as cost, Express Service, no matter what type of transaction usually cost an additional 1000 Pesos (18 USD). To me its worth it since I do not have to make a return visit 3 working days later to pick up the visa, and I do not want to leave my passport while they process. I have never been able to do a 6 month Visa although I have heard it is possible at other BoI Offices. The price before adding the 1000 for Express Services vary, but they ranged from 1830-6628 Pesos for a 2 month extension. The 6628 Pesos transaction was my first ACR card, that they make you get on the 2nd extension. Sometimes the amount varies a little because of the fee coding, but it made since later after going through my exit clearance leaving the country; all the codes/fees are itemized. As far as the 29 day extension online the total cost was 3030 Pesos (Express Service is the only option for e-Service.) I do not know how much the 2 month extension is but I can follow up in about 6 weeks when I request my next 2 month extension. Note, I also saw the 6 month extension on the e-Service site....(@Chris-Yi-Yang

It worked out fine. The buses are pretty comfortable and just remembered to insist on the meter when taking the short taxi ride.

Hello! Thanks for the videos and helping out, especially the vets. Wife and I (I'm retired military) have been considering PI as a backup retirement location; currently retired in Korea. So we have a few questions.
    1. So we fly into Manila (probably during winter months) and it takes a day to do all the necessary appointments?
    2. Do we get the apostilles when we are there or bring them beforehand?
    3. After you submit all the paperwork do we have to stay in PI until the SRRV is approved (4-8 weeks) or can we leave and have the visas sent to us back in Korea? Or can we leave and come back once approved?
We are initially looking at PI for two months for so to get away from the brutal winters in Korea. And if for some reason we decide to leave Korea having the SRRV would make sense.
Appreciate the videos. I do videos for vets that want to retire in Korea (if they have a Korean spouse) and have helped out a number of people like you. Thanks

Hey, Steve! Great video with loads of helpful information. Thank you!
I have a question if you have time: Do you know how the BOI feels about US veterans who have an “Entry Level Separation” with less than two years’ service rather than a discharge?
I was injured while I was still in training. Unfortunately, they don’t tell you before you enlist that - until you hit 180 days of service - you can be “separated” from the military without an official discharge, VA benefits, etc., for any reason … including something that’s their fault, like what happened to me. (I broke my back while on duty, in uniform, and NOT violating any rules or regulations.)
If my injury had happened after 180 days, I’d have an Honorable Discharge and a disability pension. Since it didn’t, all I have is a DD-214 and a limp. Since I physically could not complete two years of service, do you think BOI has any kind of waiver?
Any information, insight, or resources would be appreciated!

@@MrSteven5975 - Thanks for your reply. I was afraid that was the case. The Air Force used this loophole to deny me medical treatment, GI Bill, VA benefits, everything, I guess because they knew they’d be paying for the next 50-60 years. I never understood why they cared, since a) I earned it, and b) it was taxpayers’ money, not theirs. All that to say, I’m not surprised that there’s something else that excludes my situation.
On a more positive note, your channel is a breath of fresh air compared to the many “American Expat in Southeast Asia” channels that are on RUclips promoting easy s*x and cheap booze. (Or, is it the other way around? 😂)
I’m a married, Christian man who’s simply exploring options for where I might go to be cared for *IF* I outlive my wife (which is unlikely). I’m too old to go out getting drunk every night and too tired to chase girls who are young enough to be my daughter. So those channels really don’t appeal to me. They often have a nugget of useful informtion here and there, which is the only reason to watch them.
Your content, delivery, and demeanor - on the other hand - are all top notch. Thanks, again, for the reply!
