Today we're going to be taking a look at the Baltera Sewer Solution Macerator system, part number SS01. It comes with a 10' hose. A 10' extension is available with part number 278-SS02, a 15' extension is available with part number SS15, and finally a 25' extension is available with part number SS25. This sewer solution uses a high-velocity jet to pulverize your waste. It features a 3/4" non-kinking hose. The jet is powerful enough to where you can even run the hose uphill.
Here we'll give a closer look of how it works. We'll start with the jet facing down, through our hose. At this point we would then open up our valve on our black water tank and then turn it on. By doing so, our black water tank is going to spill out. The jet is going to pulverize our waste and push it out down to our dump station. Our cap is clear so that we can see when our black water tank is empty.
When it is empty we can then rotate the jet back up and this is going to help flush it out. We can continue to flush it out until we see our water running clear. Another great feature is when you're all done, you can close up your black water tank valve, turn the jet downward, and it's going to clean out your hose for you. It's less expensive than an electric macerating system. It's easy to set up.
We'll go ahead and show you that now. First we'll take off our black water cap, then we'll connect our bayonet fitting. Then we'll need to make sure we have access to a fresh water hose. Now we can hook up the anti siphon. This is going to prevent backflow into our clean water. Then we'll take our ball valve, and screw that in place.
Our ball valve features a quick disconnect. We can then connect it to our macerator until it snaps into place. Our hose will then get run to our dump station and plug in to our sewer adaptor. Our sewer adaptor features a slip fitting, a 3" threaded, a 3-1/2" threaded, and a 4" threaded. This will fit in most home and RV sewers. With our hose run to our dump station, and our fresh water connected, we can then begin emptying out our black water tank. As you can see, it's pulverizing our waste, and pushing it down through our hose. Though it's a smaller diameter hose, the jet pulverizes even the largest waste for a clean, efficient way to empty out your black water tank. Once our black water tank is mostly empty, we can begin flushing it. I'll rotate the jet. The jet is going to help remove any excess waste that has built up in our tank. Once we've let it run for a while, we can then rotate it back down so it further flushes out our tank. Something I like to do is when our black water tank is all flushed and cleaned out, I like to close up the valve, turn it back on, and rotate the jet up and down a few times to help clean out that area in front of the valve. When you're all done, it easily coils up with the included keepers for compact storage. That's going to complete our look at the Baltera Sewer Solution Macerator system, part number SS01.
I've used one for 7 years with no failure. Just make sure you only use RV toilet paper. I purchased two of them and still am still using the original. It will pump uphill 30' plus feet.
You are exactly right! It is very important to only use RV rated toilet paper with an RV or camper. It especially important when using this macerator.
Have use for last 11 years with not leaks. Have used with the 2 -10' extensions a number times without leaks
Thank you for sharing this with us and others that may be looking into this macerator.

Had one of these several years ago. They work pretty well until the ribbed hose comes free of the housing and you can't get it to stick back in there. It's like the epoxy or whatever glue they use to stick it in there just wears out after a while. Costs too much to have it fail like that.
People that have used the bayonet style fitting have not had issues with it failing.

So my sewer holding tank has to be large enough for the waste from my tank AND the water I am adding to it from my hose? Sounds like I am using a lit of fresh water that I will be paying my water district for.
This system is design for those sewer systems that may get clogged more often than others. Some systems drain perfectly fine from factory but others will get clogged quite often. If you are using this system, you will need to run the water while emptying your tank. There are other options that will help break up the material but you won't have to run the water constantly.

Cheap alternative if you have full hookups but will not work for boondocking. Just an FYI
If you were boon docking you would wait till you get to a dumping station then you could use this.

@@etrailer When you are boondocking you don't leave every time your black tank fills up. You use a portable dump container. A true macerator does not require a water supply to operate.
etrailer.com if you can pull up to a dump station, why not just use your 3” hose and then flush with your grey water? This seems like a useless invention.
@@danielblanke9427 I plan to use it to dump right to my home’s sewer clean out on the driveway side of the house. Was looking for a solution other than searching, driving & paying for a clean out on the rare occasion we could not where we camped. A stress reliever!
Can you leave it hook permanently?
This system is not designed for a permanent install.

If you are still interested, I just got one and in the instruction manual it says that it CAN be left connected for the grey to drain if you have full hookups.
I have had mine 18 months its now showing crazy cracking in the clear part ,, I dont think it will last much longer , very expensive for 18 months ,
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. We will look into it.

Has anyone successfully used this with the RV water pump? Can you use the outside shower if you have the appropriate adapters? Is there enough water pressure?
This is for evacuating your sewage (black water) tank. Not for fresh/ city water.
Its not a real Macerator ...... Its a water jet that works to 15 feet, after that its it backs up into your tank filling it... FAIL....
A real Macerator has the power only to pull, chop and push and it adds not more water to the system...
Is this a joke?
