Thank you for showing this demonstration. I'm about to try this product and wanted to see real world experience. Of course I can't unsee it now, but you helped me understand what to expect.
Its a job nobody likes, but this thing makes it way better than the tradtional way which i have been doing all my life up till now. Hope it worked out for you as well.
Not sure about what your putting it into in the house but I know we don't have that. Can you put the end of the hose in the toilet below that water line & dump? We live in the city so not sure what to even install outside to do this.
One question I have is how high is your sewer outlet compared to you dump point? Looks like the actual outlet from the RV is still higher than the dump point.
Its a matter of perspective in the video. In reality the camper side is about 2 foot lower than where I am dumping into . Said differently it has to overcome a 2 foot rise.
I just did this for the first time today. Not knowing anything about these issues and draining a black tank. The only issue I had was when I stopped the process, turned off the water. I am wondering if there's a certain order of doing things when ending the cycle to clear the hose of all water???
Some things to note. If all your dumps are closed, the water will have a "bell-jar" effect due to not having a vent. What I do is after dumping everything, I will then open one of my gray tank pulls to allow air into the sewer solution via that tank vent. I will ensure the water has cleaned out the sewer solution hose, then turn off the pressurized water. Lastly i close the grey tank pull. Disconnect the pressurized water hose, then remove the sewer solution assembly from the dump making sure to keep it higher than the drain side. Keep working toward the drain side till the hose is empty by lifting the cap side of the hose. When you get to the end, it will be empty and clean. Just wipe off the very end of it and store. None of this stuff is fun, but this thing is a huge win in my book.
Please tell me more about the gray pipes you said that you stored. What's holding them together? How does it fit onto the end of the sewer solution 10ft hose? Wish you would show putting it all together.
Sorry for the late reply... The gray pipes are called PVC Electrical Conduit and can be found at Lowes, HD, etc for about $4 for a 10' section. Each section has 1 flared end on it. You can take the end of the sewer and stick it into the flared end as they are both PVC. WHen you do this if you give it a 1/4 turn it will have a friction fit that keeps it togehter. No glue . If you measure your bumper, you can cut some lengths to keep in the bumper tube. In that same section of the store you can also get a sweeping 90 to use on the end to make a transition into the ground hole. Hope this clears it up.
When you put the chemical solutions that dissolve large debris. Does it always come all liquid mushy consistency? OR there’s some always large debris left?
Depends on a lot. How long it was in there, Who ate what..., Sometimes I dont even use the Happy Camper, No matter what, this thing has NEVER clogged and the stream breaks all clumps up and pushes through hose. Including wipes. Cant say enough good things about it.
No, The only thing I use is Happy Camper. Even that is sparingly. If I know I wont be using it for a month or so, I will dump a small thing of dollar store dish soap with about 2 gallons of water to stay in the tank when not in use. I scoped the tank this last fall after using this thing and the tank was super clean. I should have made a vid of that.
Good demo... How long does it take to dump your black tank? Second question: Can you empty grey tanks without the water pressure from fresh water hose?
I havent actually timed it but id say it takes about double the time as compared to total time compared to family who has conventional dump systems. That said, i turn it on, pull handle and relax. They spend way more time when it comes to cleaning their hose and rinsing. I can say i will never go back to conventional. Yes you can let the grey water fly by itself. We are a family of 4 and i leave the greys open 100% of the time and only dump the black as needed. Note that you want to close the greys when dumping the black as you may get some crosssover. My next modification will be making a pvc wye for the outdoor kitchen grey to tie into the sewer solution ground cap.
i know this video was posted 2 years ago. now i am convinced that i should get this for my camper. thanks for the demo
I like that its clear. Not that it needs to be but it lets you know Exactly whats happening down there.
It keeps you from having surprises. I consider that clear section MANDATORY
Nice video! I just bought one of these and the video helped a lot. I also noticed you have a short extension. That looks like a good idea too.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for this helpful info. How long did it take you to empty your 53 gallon tank?
As of yet I have not timed it. I will try to time it on my next trip in a week.
What size is your pvc?
Its actually 1" PVC electrical conduit. Easier to use that since they have one end flared already.
great video. Thanks! We just got this same system and so far love it!

Do you use the blue tabs to breakdown poop and such normally?
