I went heavier on the spices, added a extra can of cream of chicken, cheese, bacon bits, and a little more broth and sour cream and it turned out delicious. Family loved it!

I don't have condensed cream of chicken soup or any condensed creams is there a substitute plz answer ASAP!
Do you have any sour cream or whipping cream, Ayala Lemel? You could mix a cup of either one with chicken stock (or broth), and use this mixture as a sauce for the chicken.
any substitue could do you could use cream of celery or mushroom its turned out just fine for me.. or what of cream i have on hand.
Can the cream of chicken be substituted with cream of mushroom?

Oh Em Gee, when you count the salt you added to the bras all the salt and two cans of soup then celery salt then it says salt to taste, again, oh my God, that’s enough salt to choke a horse

Made this for my family. It didn’t last ten minutes until it was gone. I just added some mushrooms, cheese, onions, and broccoli. Delicious!

I used egg noodles instead of rice and added peas! The peas add a really good flavor. I also used extra crackers on top. It's a great alternative!

I've had it with chopped up celery before so that celery could be chopped into small chunks and added if someone wanted to. Peas go with it nicely, also. If you like mushrooms they're an added bonus, too.
I put stuffing on the top of mine! So good! Used coconut oil instead of butter for the stuffing. Used Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and made my own condensed cream of chicken! It was so good!

GuardStud08 it needs something it's just chicken sauce and crumbs. I would add the onions and the celery and maybe some peas and carrots and any sorts of vegetables I had hanging around this looks good but it's just chicken and it takes so much chicken because there's nothing else in it.

I use Pepperidge farms bread crumbs for the topping and instead of rice I use vegetables , omg it’s so good , my children are very picky eaters but this they love .....
This is a great basic recipe where even the basic is delicious! Mine was semi basic. I have to remember to keep crackers around the house! Next time I want to try it with chicken and mushrooms and peas. Another time: broccoli…. This is the DIY casserole out there!!
my x - now deceased mother/in/law use to make this allot.. loved it.. (only thing I loved about her) she would never share how she cooked anything (said she was the only one who could cook it the way her son liked it).. I am so glad I found this been looking for over a cpl of decades.. (yup, moved back north and life got busy) now that I have it.. can't wait to try it on the new generations in my family circle - ty so much..

Yes, you can cook it the next day. I've done that and I just put it in the fridge.

this is my mom's quick chick trick recipie she made me as a kid, though it didnt have rice
my mom did that too. we would eat it over rice, but no rice in the actual casserole

I made this yesterday but I added a1/2 cup of frozen peas and some sliced white muchrooms....it came out delish!!! my family loved it......

2024 thread bump :) Mine is in the oven now. I made a whole chicken (jerk) the other day and used the leftover meat, added cheese, and broccoli. I’ll come back to let you know how it was.
I used a little more chicken broth as well and it’s very creamy and deliciousssss, 10/10.

I see no point in cooking part of the casserole before putting it in the oven. I want a recipe where its all cooked in the oven! But I still like most of Allrecipes recipes :-)

I would try this if I could trust the canned soup. I have yet to see a can that does not contain MSG and/or yeast extract. Meal time should be a healthy time, not a time to do permanent damage to yourself.
The chicken is over cooked. 35 min is already too long and then you cook it again.
35 minutes is about correct, the cooking it again is to blend the flavors of everything else in it
I'm allergic to sour creme, do you have to use it in this recipe?

This looks so good! I love this channel so much!! This casserole looks like the type of casserole I'd make for dinner and my husband would sneak a bowl full and take it to work early in the morning (at 4:30 AM) the next day before I get up then when I wake up and I'd see that he took our leftovers that were meant for dinner the next night for leftovers! He only does that on the casserole he loves and he'd love this one!! (Me too!!)
