Don Messick actually peaked in the 1970's, as he and John Stephenson did a majority of animation voice-over work for Hanna-Barbera, Rankin-Bass, DePatie-Freleng, Ruby-Spears, etc., during that time. Their work on the 1975 version of Tom & Jerry had to have been among their most underrated animation voice-over work. Their work, together continued into the 1980's, doing voice-over work for Marvel, Disney, DIC, Film Roman, etc. Don and John dominated the 1970's, the 1980's went to Peter Cullen and Frank Welker and the 1990's went to Jim Cummings and Rob Paulsen!!!
