I'll say and I knew right off it was for a Laff A Lympics episode. He was an amazing vocal talent indeed.

      After Mel Blanc.

@@yosefdemby8792 Mel was very much a legend. But for pure vocal range, storytelling capability and acting ability, it was Daws, hands down. His ability to capture the essence and vocalize characters, mimic accents and imitate actors was widely recognized. His contribution to the animation industry is often revered. His role in bringing life to the HB characters, which relied on extremely limited animation, was stunning. He and Don Messick were the heart and soul of those early shows. His radio work with Stan Freberg was not only hilarious but award winning. Daws was far more than just doing funny comic voices; he could bring heart, depth and sympathy into his characters. This is what I feel really set him apart from Blanc.
Daws was an artist who loved his craft. That was further demonstrated in his work with developing ,young newcomers to the voice over industry. He really made and left a remarkable legacy within the animation voice over community.

@@clurkroberts2650 You think Mel Blanc only did voices and not played characters? That there aren't any genuine emotions in his voice acting?

    • @clurkroberts2650

@@yosefdemby8792 didn’t say that at all. Mel Blanc was as much an on camera character actor, as he was a voice over talent. He appeared on camera in hundreds of tv shows, and in radio, mostly as a bit player. He was a legend, and built himself an incredible career. But his legacy also was abetted by having the opportunity to voice characters animated by the amazing talents of directors such as Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Fritz Freleng, animated by superb Warner Animation talent, and accompanied with superb musical accompaniment by Carl Stallings. His voices often required recording manipulation (daffy).
As I said before Blanc, was also a talented on camera personality, his work with Jack Benny was extraordinary and the two created legendary bits on radio and later on television. This is where he really was recognized instantly and beloved by millions. His on camera comic expressions, accents and timing were the perfect foil to Bennys personality.

Daws used to take those on personal appearances/interviews and used them in his workshop. Daws had a lot of experience as a puppeteer during his five years with Stan Freberg on "Time for Beany" (1949-1954).

Daws Butler was Scooby-Dum, only in the Laff-a-lympics, but in the Scooby-Doo show, that honor went to Alan Oppenheimer. Nowadays, Bill Farmer could voice Scooby-Dum, because he sounds similar to Goofy!!!

Mods let me write. Stop acting like satan's demented little antagonizing dwarfs. You are going to pay dearly if you keep it up. Remember God=Lord Jesus Christ and His justice. Which I'm sure you will. Because you don't know when to stop like satan.
