I've started going to a new pool lately with my grandmother who was a competitive swimmer, as I have just finished high school. My boyfriend and my friends all did an optional transition year, but I skipped it, so I have had alot of time on my hands.
The new pool we started going to made silicone swim caps mandatory, and you don't bring your own, you get supplied with them. It took a while to get used to, but I have to say, they are so much better than fabric caps.
I have fairly long hair, so I ask for two caps to cover all my hair. They really make a difference swimming, and I love the feeling of them on my head. Also, I love to relax in the hot tub to warm up after swimming, with a hot mug of coffee from the reception, and I usually keep the cap on my head to keep my head warm too 😁
Really wish the hot tub was open at my gym. Going into the pool cold never feels good
@@MoooseBlood are the showers open? I recommend showering before going in, and if you wear one cap on top of another, that helps too. Also, this may be just my pool, but in some pools you can buy hot drinks from the reception.

@@sophswrld69 does your pool have any other options like hot showers or anything? Its not that uncommon where I live, my pool isn't a particularly upper class one, many of the ones here have similar services. Does yours have a hot tub?
I like to go in the hot tub before swimming 🏊♀️ because I find it easier to stretch and warm up,and heat my body up! Then diving in a cool pool revs me right up!🙂
Only reason I’m wearing a swim caps because the chlorine water keeps on making my hair dry and disgusting
Do you know where I can buy a comfortable silicone swimming cap? All the one's I've tried are uncomfortable and pull on my hair every time time I put them on/remove them. Thanks.
I got mine at dicks sporting goods and it works good for me

@@tdbhmusic Yes. I learned that you can put water in your swim cap and quickly place it in ur head, letting all the water out as you wear it.
I can’t wear a swim cap cause my hair is way to long and a bunch of hair keeps falling out and my swim cap bearly fits 😭

How long does it stay still? I put it on today and then 1 hour later loose and I still don't know but, I feel my hair is somehow wet. Then 30 minutes after that it is off of my head. This is a new sillicone swimming cap. It fit at first try but don't know why it could not stay still for long hours.
You probably just need a better cap sometimes it does slip, and technically they’re not made to keep your hair dry.
Could be your head naturally sweating that damps your hair under the cap.
DO NOT under any circumstances keep your ears out of the cap! They're gonna laugh at you!

Iv taken up swimming everyday now , through lockdown too, jeez my hair like wire wool, so made the decision to chop the lot off to a cute messy curly Bob, but my hair grows tooo damn fast. I tried princess leia buns at first, now I m trying for the cap tomorrow, first time. Curly thick hair and chlorine = wire

Why did I get wet hair with my cap on
The swim cap isn’t made to keep your hair dry. It’s made so you go faster in the pool hair on your body blocks the flow of water. Also if you look at the directions when you purchase a swim cap it says to have your hair wet already then put on your swim cap which reduces bubbles and air flow so the cap does not come off during swimming:)
