Today we have a build for Amazo from DC Comics in Dungeons & Dragons. One of the Justice Leagues most dangerous foes can just steal their powers, so if you want to be ALL OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE in D&D 5e, this is how you do it.

Patreon: / tulok
Fun fact: in Amazo's earliest appearance, he couldn't copy Superman's powers due to the Blue Boy Scout just being too strong. This limitation has since been removed.
Neat.
Considering the one we're seeing the videos of basically became Dr. Manhattan, I get that
I just watched Justice League Animated recently and I felt pain like no other when Amazo asked 'Where’s Doctor Ivo?' The dude was basically a child, with literally no concept on death or anything else like that. And then at the end of the episode homie became an omnipotent being pretty much when he scanned Martian Manhunter. That show’s fucking wild. I love it, but it’s fucking wild
I justrewatched that episode, too! Also the one in Young Justice!
15:48 “Invulnerability makes you Invincible for 10 minutes”
This build is so powerful it can even copy characters from other comic book companies
Think Mark think
Finally a spell that can make me- **fanfare**
@@blaze5679 *blood splatter*
"Using telekinesis right next to yourself and calling it superstrength" is literally Superboy's power from the comics
Long distance super strength lol XXD
No, the opposite. Its touchrange telekenisis
@@KRIOSthe5th Tactile Telekinesis?
isn't it a superman's thing too? I remember the explanation about how he can lift planes and build without breaking them apart being literally because of touch range telekinesis
@iceheadn no, thats just Superboy. Superman uses his super brain to make an infinite number of calculations to know exactly where to hold and how much pressure to use
"We are going to need to take the abilities of the justice league, we will do this with our starting class of Mirror Soul Sor..."
I came to the comments section to talk about Daddy Tulok's Mirrored Soul XD
In Amazo's defense, copying Batman "I learned every form of world martial arts" level technique, Flash level speed, and Superman level strength, he throws one hell of a punch.
There's a great issue of the Justice League comic where Amazo has the powers of the Justice League, they keep sending more reservists after him which just lets him copy more powers. The B-plot was recruiting Ray Palmer back into the League and he had the brilliant idea to disband the League, which stripped Amazo of all powers as that iteration only had the powers of the Justice League and not the ability to copy the powers of individual heroes. So really bad writing as he was mostly hitting and there was such a ludicrous exploit to depower him.
Heck of a build. Delivers on the premise of DO EVERYTHING.
I guess this is also that Kirby build I wanted. Maybe? I usually think Kirby has to has low intelligence but he is smart enough to highjack advanced mechsuits moments after he kills its original pilot, without eating it
It's not that Kirby is unintelligent, just that he's essentially a child
high int low wis
Class? Divine Soul Sorcerer instead of Wizard, race? Custom Lineage with the Strixhaven feat for +2Con/+1Cha to mirror Amazo’s +2Con/+1Int
Yay, a Kirby template
This video earned my love right at the Annie Get Your Gun clip ❤️
wouldn't "speak with animals" also be needed because of Aquaman's ability to speak with anything with a swim speed (I know it's only fish but dnd rules make that anything with a swim speed)
Shapechange and/or Wish take care of that, as was explained in the video (17th level, 15:20)
@@thesunwillneverset I posted this comment at one of the early levels (don't remember which one) and didn't feel like taking it down even though it was proven wrong by the end but you are right
15:56 was so expecting the Invincible title card drop here but I guess that’s the wrong universe
Now I want a storyline where Amazo copies the question and gets his paranóia. Just sits there calculating all the world's conspiracy theories.
I hope one day you do a few videos for building a character in Pathfinder 2e. I love your work!
It could be done but the lack of Multiclasing will be tricky. probly. After having a look at it definitely think you could make E. Honda in that system easier then 5e
You say you can make a D&D version of any character? Challenge accepted:
My favorite character is Oracle, the wheelchair-using superhero hacker from DC comics. She‘s got an ultralight manual ‘chair like mine, so no room for tech to fire missiles or fly around the battlefield like Professor X’s hoverchair. She can hack anything and typically stays out of the fight herself, but when necessary is skilled in escrima stick fighting, ‘cus it relies on speed and upper body strength.
Have fun! 😁
Inquisitive 8 / Diviner 12?
She also have a robot the she can control from a distance, almost like a avatar in a videogame.
@@aswd90 Not generally in the comics, no. That’s why she employs other heroes to go on missions based on the intel she’s discovered. Her team is called the Birds of Prey, though you’d never guess from that BoP movie Warner Bros. made that purposely left her out.
@@DrFranklynAnderson did you miss the memo? They brought her back. Barbara was healed as part of the new 52 in 2011. She was Batgirl in her own title until the Joker War arc. Now she alternates between being Oracle and Batgirl.
@@ericpeterson8732 😂 Oh buddy, you do _not_ want to hear me go into a full disabled-fangirl rant over DC’s mishandling of Barbara Gordon over the last twelve years. 😉
I love these "gotta check everything off the list" builds
Absolutely love this build and the fact that Amazo would only have access to so many abilities per opportunity.
God I loved this character in the cartoon. He was threatening, funny, philosophical, ominous. Just such a great character. Even when he only made small cameos, I still loved seeing him.
Now, in an attempt to both feed the algorithm and wildly speculate on what builds could possibly come next:
Marvel: Hero: Professor X (Big Brain, Bad Dex)
Marvel: Villain: Rhino (Charges Recklessly into the Fray)
DC: Hero: Robotman (Had it Rough)
DC: Villain: Solomon Grundy (Born on a Monday)
Kingdom Hearts: Zexion (Throws the Book at You)
Smash Bros: Little Mac (Punches You Out)
Overwatch: Widowmaker (360 No-Scopes)
Mortal Kombat: Stryker (Brought a Gun to a Fist Fight)
Bloodborne: Father Gascoigne (Succumbs to the Beast)
Skullgirls: Cerebella (Uses her Head)
Soul Calibur: Cassandra Alexandra (Draws Strength from Within)
Killer Instinct: Cinder (Is Too Hot to Handle!)
Dante’s Inferno: Dante Alighieri (The Renaissance Doom Guy)
Ratchet & Clank: Clank (Secret Agent Time Keeper)
Team Fortress 2: Spy (Is Right Behind You)
Disney: Rattigan (The World’s Greatest Criminal Rat)
Dreamworks: Hiccup (Trains Dragons)
RoboCop (Protects and Serves)
Rambo (Can’t Just Turn it Off)
Wednesday Addams (Is Full of Woe)
Stranger Things: 11 (Will Blow Your Mind)
Worm: Taylor Hebert (Escalates)
My Hero Academia: Yuga Aoyama (Sparkles Through the Pain)
Trigun: Vash the Stampede (Fights for Love AND Peace!)
Princess Mononoke: San (Feral Environmentalist)
He made San once and the video got zapped away by copyright ninjas
@@BJGvideos Really? I'm surprised he hasn't done what he did with the Sailor Moon vids, and just reloaded it with FromSoft games in the background
@@ChroniclesConvergence That would be neat.
"Where's he going?"
"Wherever it is gods go."
"Don't be ridiculous. He's no god."
"Then why do I suspect if he brings this build to the table, you'll be praying?"
Darkwing Duck when?
He's a professional. He's got this.
Funny that you didn't name Batman again for the Contingency spell given that his only power aside from plot armor is "mUh CoNtInGeNcY pLaNs"
Amazo can’t ever defeat Batman. You know why? Because he’s Batman!
@Douglas Elder But Amazo can copy Batman, so can Batman defeat Batman if both Batmen have enough time to prepare?
@@DracoMagnius Clearly not
Always love copycat villains, even if they usually lose cause they try to solo a group. I am curious how a Kirby build would compare to this, given that while sharing the ability to copy, they are wholly different characters.
Honestly I just wanna support more smash bros videos or maybe get a kirby and the forgotten land play through on Tulok and Mango
Pretty sure he's done a Kirby build.
@@yaburu Know Tulok made a Kirby esque subclass with the Mirrored Soul and also did a Meta Knight and Dedede video but will have to go looking for Kirby
@@TheMARStudios I was about to jump in but then I realized I was thinking of the OTHER pink smash bastard, Jigglypuff
Hey Tulok. I LOVED this episode. Amazo is one of my favorite DCAU characters, as short-lived as his time was. Anyway, I have two requests for builds:
Booker Dewitt from Bioshock Infinite
and Subject Delta from Bioshock 2. Thank you for awesome content as always, and have a great week!
when i think something amazing i always fall for the Tangle the lemur build Sir Tulok will deliver in time (btw, please?) you could figure the same from a marvel of technology that displaying both its dangers and versatility to omnipotent levels
Made by professor Arthur Ivo A.M.A.Z.O is a nanomachine that was initially programed to serve but developed to find its own place in the galaxy, something that will have him clash with the justice league a few times, and if you can trade blows with the likes of superman and co., you better believe he is not just the prototype of a mad immortal scientist.
Sorry I missed this Build because I owe you a majour “Thank you!” for that “Cabin in the Woods” reference.
Any chance the Patreon poll for October fun can include some Cabin? I just think it would be cooler with a merman…or I guess some people might roll more with Fornicus, Lord of Pain and Bondage which would be a heckuva title for your video.
The closest we'll ever get to a Kirby build
Does this mean you going to do The Question soon?
I gotta say you are one of my favorite content creators on RUclips. I sincerely wish I had more friends who enjoy doing what you are. I legit spend time at home doing this. I wonder, have you considered making characters from adventure time or Legendary Creatures based on lore from Magic the Gathering?
How about how to play Death: Straight Up, from Puss in Boots, in Dnd?
What would the goals be of a death build?
Doing all the damage you need?
Hiding in plain sight?
Shadow magic?
Fear powers?
heck yeah, more Justice League Unlimited! Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl were great, keep it going if you're enjoying this as much as we are.
Love seeing you use Young Justice clips
I enjoy these videos, keep 'em coming!
Can you do a build for Pilgor from Goat Simulator?
Goals:
1. Impenetrable ragdoll
2. Licky tounge
3. Udder mayhem!
An Artificer / Bard could do this as well and let you use your int as str
Yes but you'd need to invest in charisma as well
This makes me want to make an Ooze character based on Zac from League of Legends. Maybe an Astral Self monk.
I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I think it be pretty interesting if Tulok made some characters from Records of Ragnarok.
Sunbeam is for the Ray or if the Legion of Superheroes shows up with Sun Boy
He also existence erase counters which he had in comic books
He was fighting another evil version of with vore fetish (long story)
My dyslexic ass read "How to Play Amazon in Dungeons and Dragons"...
Jeff Besos build when Tulok?
Sitting here waiting patiently for a Darkseid build.
3:15 You'll take a 10 ft Penalty...... YOU'LL BE A SLOW ASS WIZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, I would love to see this feller do A character build for Raiden, the cyborg ninja from the Metal Gear series.
He has.
I thought of Anya Forger from spy family if you haven't done that as I thought it be interesting to do
I was enamored with the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime when it came out, and really wanted to replicate the main character's power of being able to just sort of harvest abilities from the enemies he defeats. Just, y'know, not broken as all hell.
I made a homebrew sorcerous origin for Doppelgangers. The write-up I gave it:
At 6th level, your body can adapt to the foes you slay with your magic. Once per long rest, when you kill an enemy with a spell, roll a D20 and divide the result in half. If you beat the creature’s CR, you can add one of its racial traits to a pool on your character sheet. Legendary actions and resistances, as well as the Doppelganger’s shapechanger ability, are exempt from this, and you can’t have an ability more than once.
You can have access to a number of these abilities at any given time equal to your proficiency bonus, and can change which abilities you have from your pool every long rest. Passive abilities, such as darkvision, that you have access to are always active until you lose consciousness for any reason. Using non-passive abilities, as well as reactivating passive ones, requires two sorcery points. You cannot take spells, but spell-like magical abilities are acceptable. Any abilities that require a specific weapon or item cannot be taken.
I think it's pretty balanced, but I have yet to have someone playtest it. At level 18 you don't have to halve the D20 roll, so you get access to stronger stuff, but there's further limitations on more advanced abilities to keep it from being abused. When I saw this video I was kinda hoping someone with more experience was doing this concept so I could compare notes, but ahh well.
Not bad any 1st lvl ability
@@dementedlemming9746 Yeah, two.
Devious Charisma - You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed starting at 1st level. Additionally, any Deception check made in regards to your identity is made with advantage.
Piece of Mind- Your body resonates on the same level as others, and your mind is no different. At 1st level, as a bonus action you can speak with one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. You and this creature need not share a language to understand one another, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language, and a lack of a shared language limits the complexity of ideas that can be exchanged. This effect lasts for one minute. Once it ends, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
I like it. I am currently playing in a that time I got reincarned as a slime campaign. We are all reincarnated. I am playing as a pyromancer Goliath who is scared of fire you heard me right (died by saving orphans from a burning building that i probably started). Having lots of fun but never watched the show.
This is impressive.
1 level in Fighter and 18 in Wizard, did I miss a level somewhere?
Just had to post this after I got the entire Justice League/Unlimited shows on dvd lol
How bout characters with no current/prior reference to translate to a ttrpg? Like Faith Connors, Ryu Hayabusa, the Kengan roster, Jake from Subway Surfer
You should do General Raam from Gears of War!
I just read through the Shapechange spell, and it explicitly states that you transform into the average version of the given creature, which means no spellcasting or any class levels.
Am I missing something? It seems like this fundamentally undoes the most important part of this build. Is it supposed to be True Polymorph?
The fourth paragraph of Shapechange:
"You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them, provided that your new form is physically capable of doing so. You can't use any special senses you have (for example, darkvision) unless your new form also has that sense. You can only speak if the creature can normally speak."
True Polymorph locks all your features and spellcasting but can become permanent, Shapechange lets you use everything your base form has while changing around your Resistances/Immunities every turn, but has a time limit.
@@szayelapporograntz3276 but Tulok said that this would allow you to use any character sheet of the Justice League he has made, which are class levels different from Amazo's class levels
Could you do Durza from the eragon book series, Dabi and Stain from mha and Death from puss in boots: the last wish?
do the wrecking crew from the marvel universe specifically the wrecker
Crazy I just pressed play on this episode
For another character with powerful offence, utility, and defense, why not check out Jesse Faden?
Lol his biggest rival was Plot armor
Can you please build Gojo from JJK?
Could you make a character base off of the character Shinso please?
Thanks.
How to play the Chosen Undead in Dungeons and Dragons
I think he did something similar to the Chosen Undead when he did a build for LetMeSoloHer.
Is this basically a blue Mage build?
You can't just tease us with a MODOK Easter Egg!
PLEASE MAKE TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!!
All I saw was one level of fighter and 18 levels of wizard. Where is that last level?
He took 2 levels of fighter for action surge, I forgot for a second too.
Can you do Sora perse from Yu-Gi-Oh?
The best Copycat villain I've seen, period.
can u do donquixote doflamingo next?
Amazoing
I dont think Amazo cookies Batman.
Make the Pillar Men from Jojo
Jeff Bezo's secret underground weapon: Amazo-n
Ummm.... isn't the Amazo in "Amazo Returns" just the typical Mary Sue DMPC?
People tend to care less about Mary Sues when they're the villains.
last i checked wonderwoman can fly
Super-Adaptoid is better because Super-Adaptoid did the one thing Amazo could never do: copy Amazo.
👍
If only this guy was streaming elden ring right now and you could go and watch him platinum the game in one sitting right now.
Lol he very specifically does not pull out Batman abilities in any of the clips you use
