Suggestion for future builds, a few Tenchi Muyo! builds, Tenchi Muyo! really hasn't gotten enough love stateside since the early 2000s, also that franchise (yes I said it's a franchise) has quite a few characters that might make for some interesting builds. For example, the MC of Tenchi Muyo! is Tenchi Masaki, and it might be fun to see Tulok translate his abilities into a character (I suggest you start with the OG version, the one from the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Oki timeline, because that is the original Tenchi timeline); Ryoko (everyone's favorite Space Pirate Waifu) could make for an interesting build, especially because of her connection to the aforementioned Ryo-Oki; I think Washu (the character proclaimed to be the greatest scientific mind in the universe, by multiple characters) seems to be the most straightforward build at first glance but she's likely going to be really hard, because of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Oki Season 3 spoiler stuff; Tenchi's grandfather might make for an amusing build; also Mihoshi might make for one of the most confusing builds, seeing as she appears to be a low mental build but is unreasonably good at most of the mental skill options (I wish I was making that up, she is canonically called a bubble brain but is somehow manages to gather information better than anyone has a right to do and it takes an entire council days to decipher and summarize her reports that have usually end up touching on classified information she probably most people aren't allowed near, and she's also a Detective First Class in the space police, but still manages to somehow be a ditz of the highest order who causes massive expense reports to be filled out by her superiors but still manages to be so unreasonably good at her job that her superiors worry about what will happen if she were to ever actually have her position changed). And on the villain side of things, the first real big bad of the Ryo-Oki continuity is this absolute showboat of a space pirate named Kagato, the guy has a massive spaceship that has a giant pipe organ taking a considerable portion of the bridge because he can, the guy can literally play his own villain music anytime he wants on the thing, and usually does, he's also a really good combatant, causing the first real issues for Tenchi as a combatant, he's also responsible for basically mind-controlling Ryoko to attack a world where his primary objective was prior to the events of the series, and just has the swagger of a villain that's been able to get away with what he has for ages, what I'm saying is that Kagato might make for one of the more interesting villain builds.

Ah, I see you went for the more comic, swiss-army knife, power set of Martian Manhunter, very interesting, though for his more Martian appearance, you could probably go with Githzerai, as the base for custom lineage. Also means if adapting a similar background/story, you can have Githyanki stand in for the White Martians, or use Illithids as a stand in for the Imperium. Not sure how you could get Elditch Adept without spell casting, or pact magic, within the current rules, unless the DM agrees you can take it, but you can't use it until you reach level 2, not quite homebrew, but definitely bending the rules a little bit.

So, just briefly because you did ask why he's called "Manhunter"
Basically there was an organization on Krypton (I think krypton) of mercenary aliens hired from other planets called "Manhunters", this order contains such prestigious names as Lobo. Eventually though the organization disbanded along with Krypton's destruction. The guardians also made their own manhunters but I'm a little blurry on my memory of those guys.
Basically Martian Manhunter was one of those guys until nearing Krypton's destruction Jor-El asked him to go to earth to look over his son.
That origin though I think has been changed a million times since in some versions Martian Manhunter is stuck on earth after a teleportation accident, in some the martians were driven to extinction by the white martians, and in some it's a combination of both.
Ultimately, the manhunter name probably just comes from the fact that most of what MM does is act as a detective hunting down criminals rather than a more traditional superhero battling great powers of evil.

Eldritch Adept allows you to select one Warlock invocation, but you cannot select an invocation that has *any* prerequisite, unless you *are a warlock who meets said prerequisite.* However, Mask of Many Faces *is* one of the few options that does not have any prerequisite, making it a valid choice, even for a character with no Warlock levels. Hope this helps.

The nifty thing about the Martian Manhunter's many powers is that unlike Superman, whose spread of powers is pretty consistent across different medias, most adaptations of J'onn 1) tend to drop any powers that don't fall under "shapeshifting" or "mind stuff" except for the flying brick package (I don't think I've ever seen a version of the character that has heat vision, for instance), and 2) tend to narrow the applications of one or both of those core powers: DCAU!J'onn does more with the shapeshifting but (iirc) keeps the psychic stuff pretty simple, while CWverse!J'onn gets creative with the psychic side but restricts the shapeshifting to just "looks like other humanoids" and phasing. So as long as you do at least *some* of both of those things, can fly, and can punch good, there's more freedom to customize and focus on particular aspects while still *feeling* like the Martian Manhunter than there is for other "buckets of powers" characters.

Martian Manhunter has a lot of powers but not a lot in the way of actual weapons. He's good at brawling, flight, and both types of magic. He's bad at authority due to not being a people person and heavy armor due to his intangibility.
His best stats are in magic and luck, but his resistance is not so great due to his well-documented phobia of fire.

Because they haven't given us the mystery cop show focused on Jon as a police detective.
I love Jon in the JLU, but I went and found his original comic stories online and he is such a blast as a character when he's being this guy that ended up on Earth off his homeland and wants to do right by it, so he becomes this police detective and solves cases through his powers while being careful to not have people realize he's a Martian. So while he can easily find out some clues, he still has to be clever about it so that no one gets the wrong idea about him.
Main thing I would have different would be that part of Jon's shapeshifting has to be used to compensate for the increased gravity of Earth on his body, meaning that his slow gain of powers other than telepathy and empathy is partially because he's having to figure out how to use them within the new gravity (things are heavier for him to lift telepathically for instance and he has to work at it like a muscle before he could lift much heavier than a bullet). Also, the fire weakness would be both an intense phobia and something that is because of how fire reacts to his physiology somehow.

I may not be the biggest DC nerd, but I'm pretty sure MM doesn't have heat vision. Hmmm. Checked Wikipedia, and apparently he can shoot "Martian beams" out of his eyes, and sometimes that sets things on fire.

It’s one of the powers they kind of can’t decide if they want him to have or not, he has heat vision, but BARELY EVER uses it. I think it’s a way to differentiate him further from Superman tbh. J’onn may be OP As fuck, but I see no real reason to take any of his powers away, he’s perfect.
