Here's the last main entry in the Ape Escape series, for this recording I decided to break out my PAL copy of the game just to confuse the living shit outa all of you with how spiffin' it sounds and how much different the translation in the European regions was. I had ALLOT of fun playing this game the music the graphics and the characters are bright and colorful and all that jazz and the additions to the gameplay make it allot more varied compared to the second one: they removed the useless gadgets and added the transformations which add allot of new capture and movement options. The only issue I take with the game really is that the lag is super inconsistent, the game swaps between 25 and 50 fps constantly (30 and 60 in NTSC versions) making it feel a bit less responsive when there's lots going on on the screen. Get this game if you have a PS2 it's one of the coolest 3d platformers nobody talks about!
Rofl 🤣 as someone who played this game religiously. This was a pleasant surprise listening to the dialogue shift. 10/10 it’s so different but is so good as well. Now I wonder how the other region shifts sound.

The cartoony style definitely helps hide the game's age, I'd say the same thing about the Futurama game. Doesn't look brand new but it looks great for something from 2003.
Ah, the British version! This is what I grew up with. I always had a chuckle thanks to the costumes, funny monkey names and other funny and clever jokes (like Monday the 16th, Nightmare on Palm Street). And another Ape Escape game with an amazing soundtrack. Thanks for playing the trilogy, watching these was an absolute blast!

Yeah, everything is either done on the emulator or recorded in shitty quality, in both scenarios pretty much everyone ignores the fact this game has a proper widescreen mode often stretching tge 4x3 mode to fill the screen. I have a very specific set up for recording ps2 games. Those are pretty tricky to record in non shit quality.

I don't know about 1 but I know Ape Escape 2 had a European dub too. One thing I never understood was changing Satoru and Sayaka's names to Kei and Yumi. Spike and Jimmy I get, localize the names for a western audience. But if you're gonna change the names... why change them to different Japanese names?
I still keep hoping for a remake of this trilogy. If Crash, Spyro, Medievil and even Pac-Man have had it, I don't see why the Ape Escape series can't have it too. I really, really want a Remake of Ape Escape 1, 2 and 3 (My favorite).

Nice, Ape Escape 3, the third and final sequel to the Ape Escape series. Again, I don't know if they ever made more after #3. I know they made a spinoff of Ape Escape that is mini-games, but that's all I can think of. (EDIT) Turns out they haven't made another Ape Escape in years. Last time they made one was a spinoff in the mid to late 2000s. Since #3, they haven't made a sequel in a long time. Thanks for doing this very long longplay Nikodem.

Dont think we would get another sequel of the series, but i think we can have a Remake of the frist one, just have to see how good where the Spyro and Crash remakes, the option of Ape Escape remake isn't that crazy.

I found my old PS2 the other day and started playing this game again. I haven't been able to finish the game fully because I can't figure out how to catch the monkey on the girls side of the Hot Springs level while playing as the male character. So frustrating, but this game holds a special place in my heart!
I grew up playing this game, at that time I didnt even knew english so I didnt understand anything about the history or the dialogues. But the game were so beautiful and has so many things to do... I just loved to play this like a decade ago (OMG Im getting old 😱) I would like to play it again someday... maybe in a new generation of consoles with even better graphics... and being able to read and understand what they're saying. This video trully brought me nostalgic memories from my childhood! Thanks for that ❤
I feel like such a dumbass right now. I played this game so much as a kid, and I never beat it- but when watching this trying to identify where I got stuck, I seriously... cannot believe it. All I remembered was that I already had the Princess Ace morph, and that it involved going up some platforms (I thought they were moving?) going up and right. And I think I found it. 4:00:58. Those platforms. I used the Princess Ace morph over and over, trying to get from one platform to the next... I could never do it... It was just the dang copter thing? SERIOUSLY????!!! 2 MINUTES FROM THE FINAL BOSS!? I... I simply cannot fathom it. lol. I really hope I'm wrong and that I'm missing a place elsewhere that I'd gotten stuck, but I remember so much, and I don't see anything similar in those last two levels once you get the Ace morph. Weird.

This right here Is always one of my favourite games of all time and the gimmick of switching to colourful costumes next to Disney's Magical Quest. ^D^ I still prefer the original then this UK Version.
I mostly prefer the UK version for a couple things, I think the British voice just fits Tomoki way better, I like Kei and Yumi having their original names (Satoru and Sayaka) and I think there are some monkeys you can get with cheat codes exclusive to that version. One thing I think the US version does better is their version of the song Happy Sensation, it's so catchy.

Having grown up with the EU version, I had no idea they made a version dubbed with american voices. Hearing the american one for the first time sounds about as stupid as when the dubbed teletubbies with american voices - blasphemy! I much prefer this one.
i just played a half hour of ape escape 2 and was seriously disappointed after growing up with ape escape 1. this at least looks a little better than 2.
This was such an odd game. I never heard of ape escape before 3 and thought it was a weird and silly game. Well over 15 years later I still go back, play on pcsx2 or if I'm feeling nostalgia I'll dust off my ps2 and play it. Wintervill and the halloween theme level were probably the most memorable personally.
In Australia we got the European dub too, gotta say my favourite difference is Tomoki's voice actor, no offense to the US VA but his European dub just sounds so much more suave.

Kei and Yumi low key kinda remind me of Fuyuki and Natsumi from Keroro Gunso / Sgt Frog
In the UK version they have their original names, Satoru and Sayaka. I never understood why the US version bothered changing their names if they were just gonna make them different Japanese names.
@@Tuxwell Basically it's a different approach to translation where you swap names to something that would be common in the target region. It's definitely more common in the US released games cause there's only one language/ culture being targeted.
The PAL release is an example of the opposite approach that instead keeps changes to minimum to keep true to original, which makes sense honestly as any game released in Europe will potencially be played by people from different countries so names would be foreign to to target audience no matter what.

Having grown up with the EU version, I had no idea they made a version dubbed with american voices. Hearing the american one for the first time sounds about as stupid
as when the dubbed teletubbies with american voices - blasphemy! I much prefer this one.

i just played a half hour of ape escape 2 and was seriously disappointed after growing up with ape escape 1. this at least looks a little better than 2.

This was such an odd game. I never heard of ape escape before 3 and thought it was a weird and silly game. Well over 15 years later I still go back, play on pcsx2 or if I'm feeling nostalgia I'll dust off my ps2 and play it. Wintervill and the halloween theme level were probably the most memorable personally.

In Australia we got the European dub too, gotta say my favourite difference is Tomoki's voice actor, no offense to the US VA but his European dub just sounds so much more suave.
As far as i remember, Australia is pal region so it would make sense you'd get this variant and not the us voice overed one.
