    Ryan, thank you for the video. Bigbattery has agreed to help resolve my issues with the badger batteries on the RXV cart. It was an issue where a fully charged battery would shut down in a hard brake due to the lower voltage (over voltage protection) of the batteries and they couldn’t take the regen voltage. They are sending me eagles and I’m just paying the difference. This should finally take care of the issue.

    • @aussie2uGA
      @aussie2uGA 2 года назад

      That’s interesting as just like with a Tesla, if the battery is completely charged, the regen energy has no place to go. On the Tesla, it just stops regen and you have to use more of the physical brakes. When the battery level gets down to about 90%, it starts regen again.

    Excellent Video as always. you are the gold standard i look at for how to on golf carts. i've used your videos on lighting, sound system and am planning on upgrading the motor and controller on my cart in the spring for the season.
    for these batteries - the specs on this show they can withstand down to 23 degrees F for storage. given the price tag i'd not want to chance not removing or hauling the cart to climate controlled storage, but i'm trying to find any reason to justify 3700 dollars to replace my Trojan T105s which are shot in the cart i bought used last season.
    do these batteries perform better to improve speed/torque etc.? again just trying to justify the cost which is equal to like 4 lead acid battery pack replacements

    I bought a 2016 Yamaha AC complete refurb with RoyPow lithium. They are great! Full charge from half in 90 minutes. Cart is plenty fast as well. Only thing to know about; Once the 300 lbs. of lead-acid batteries are replaced with a 70 lb. lithium, the suspension gets very stiff and the ride is terrible, like teeth-rattling-stiff. Had to change out the rear shocks with ones from lighter weight Yamaha gas cart and lower the tires a bit to compensate. Looking at possibly changing the tires to something with a bigger sidewall to absorb the bumps.

    • @andyshaffer5397
      @andyshaffer5397 2 года назад

      this is interesting about the suspension. is your Yamaha lifted with larger tires? i have an older Yamaha with lift kit and larger tires, and it's been running a straight lead acid pack for 48 volt (four batteries) and it's very heavy compared to the 70 lbs you depict.

    • @ddpronto1
      @ddpronto1 2 года назад

      @@andyshaffer5397 Yeah, mine is a 2016 YDRE electric model. I bought this cart in the later summer. Nice full refurb by a quality local company. But the ride is jarring, teeth rattling at times. They put in a RoyPow, 1 piece Lithium battery pack and it is 71 lbs. versus 300 lbs. for lead acid batteries. Mine is not lifted but has 12" rims and 205/40 R12 radials. Lowering the air a lot seemed to help some. Have the tires at 18 lbs. I am thinking of getting a bigger tire with more sidewall to add some cushion. The 40's are not very low profile but somewhat. I finally got the new shocks installed today. They are from a similar year Yamaha, but a gas-version cart which never had the weight of the batteries. The coil has noticeably-thinner material. The ride is much softer. The part # is JW1-F2210-10-00. About $75 each at ADEPT online. The front is still a bit too firm. So maybe I'll lift it 3 inches to keep the 12" rims and get the biggest sidewall tire I can fit into it. I see a brand with a model named "comfort ride". So far so-good but would still like a softer ride if I can get it.

      DD, I have the YDRE Yamaha (2007) bone jarrer too. Removing the 300lbs from the cart is my one hesitation about changing to the 70lb single lithium battery. I dug into the Yamaha forums to try and tame that ride. I changed to 10" rims, with 205/65 street tires, hoping that the extra high sidewall would help. Fully inflated (26lbs), the ride was horrendous. So I lowered the psi to 15lbs and the ride is now 'manageable' at best.
      I checked my front shocks, and found them to be JW1-F3390-00. Haven't checked the rears yet. I was under the impression (from the forums) that the JW1 designator was for the lighter 'gas carts'. So I think my fronts
      (being JW1) are the lighter shocks. I tried to find the ADEPT company that you mention online to talk to them about it, but I can't google ADEPT and come up with anything offering golf cart accessories.
      Can you please give me the ADEPT url address? Thank you.

    • @Fentertainment
      @Fentertainment  2 года назад

      I've never used those batteries and heres why. The Bdgr batteries have a voltage range from 50.4 - 36v. 50.4 is Full charged on their site and 36v is the under voltage protection. Once the battery reaches 36volts it will power down. You might see if you can set your controller to limit the battery power from 48v to something lower like 42 or 36, now im not saying you can because I've never tried it. The hsky & eagle batteries have a different range of voltage (58.8 - 43 volts). My hsky and eagles usually charge to 55volts max. If you are looking for range, The speed and acceleration needs to be at the black marks or below. WOT kills range quickly. Hope this helps some.

    • @Fentertainment
      @Fentertainment  2 года назад

      So each one of these batteries have 30 amp hour of capacity and they are wired in parallel. When you wire batteries in parallel (all positives together & all negatives together) you add the amperage of each battery and voltage stays the same. Amp Capacity is like a gas tank in a vehicle, the more amp capacity you have the further you can go. So in this case I have 55v but I have 120ah or 120 amp hour of capacity. I start talking about this @ 10:29 in the video with the distribution block bigbattery includes with the kits. Dont be confused with running batteries in series like on a stock golf cart battery set up when you run positive of one battery to negative of the other. When you run batteries in series you add the voltage but the amperage stays the same. So the more eagles you have the further the range will be, It all depends of how many miles you need to run on a single charge. I have range test videos on different batteries on my channel so be sure to check them out.

    • @Fentertainment
      @Fentertainment  2 года назад

      3 would give you 90ah of capacity and 240a of continous use.. 1 30ah battery would not be sufficient enough to run a cart especially if the motor or controller has been upgraded since 1 battery is rated for 80a of continous use. Each battery ran in parallel would have the same voltage but the amperage increases. If your cart was bone stock with no motor or controller upgrades I would say drop a 2 pack in it. If your range isn't what is desired drop another single battery to make it a 3 pack.

      I havent done a range test with these batteries just yet. My cart has been upgraded with lift, tires, ac kit and electronics so I did the 4 battery setup. For a stock cart you could probably get away with a 2 battery set up to be honest. You can always add another battery. So another question. Did you have any issue with the battery meter they include? Mine doesnt seem to work properly. They sent another and it does the same thing. Other than that the batteries are awesome. Install was fairly straightforward. I drove the cart 28 miles one day and they were still sitting at 53.7volts. I am thinking I can at least go close to 60 miles on my 3 batteries...impressive.

    • @Fentertainment

      So to be honest, I really hate all meters. I still rely on the exray speedometer for my main battery monitoring. I feel like it gives a better understanding on what the batteries are doing. But to answer your question. The meter fluctuates pretty accurately. When hammering down the battery voltage drops and while on a plane it will slow gain voltage back since the cart uses more voltage to get it going vs cruising.

    • @Fentertainment
      @Fentertainment  2 года назад

      Pretty much all lithium batteries will cost more than lead acids but there is a trade off that you will have to make. There is no general maintenance other than charging that goes into lithium vs lead where you are having to check water levels each month.... or suppose to. Trojans will last 5-6 years when you take care of them perfectly and lithium manufactures are talking 15 ish years. You could replace your trojans 3 times for the cost of lithium. If you are into upgrading your cart for more power or like to go on long drives then the lithium is where its at in my opinion. To answer your question a stock cart 2 batteries, upgraded 3 but you could go for 6 if you wanted to. I have 2 different range tests with my other big battery husky that has hit 58 miles on a single charge. Some people like golf carts and some are into them a little more than others.
