Thank you very much for making this video. I just installed the new lithium battery in a Club Car yesterday - got everything done in one day, and so far so good. There is no way I could have done the install without this video! Too many small details that would have me forever to figure out without the video. Good Job.

I thought I would let everyone know that if you have recently bought an ECO Battery 51v/105ah kit for the Club Car Precedent, you will need to connect the black/yellow canbus port coming off your charger into the matching port coming off your communication port. My charger wasn’t working and after contacting EcoBattery, they told me of this new change on the new kits. I plugged it in and it charged like a champ. EcoBattery is getting ready to send out the upgraded notices to their dealers.

They released this feature shortly after this video was posted. They have like 5 new features releasing over the next two months, so I'll have to redo all of these installation videos. More changes coming. I actually attempted to put this info in text on the videos, but RUclips does not offer this feature.

@@PalmettoBatteryPros I used your video to do my install. It’s the best video by far. I couldn’t have done it without your video. Looking forward to seeing the updated video with the new features. Do you have a video on installing a second 51/105 Eco Battery?

I agree 100%. Just finished my install today. This is the best video. I especially appreciated the detail you showed on the 12 volt orange wire to the key switch and unhooking the the yellow connectors (for the lights) and hooking it up to the 48v to 12v convertor. I had NO idea where the negative for the lights were until I saw that. All went well until I tried to charge the battery. After seeing Doug's comment the other day, I guessed (too dark to see tonight) and hooked up one can connector from each the charger and the SOC cable. It works now, so I'm happy.

@@farmereboo I’m glad it helped. I spent a couple hours in disconnecting everything, hooking it back up, etc. etc. very frustrating. The online dealer I purchased from weren’t able to help and apparently didn’t know about connecting the cam connector. They thought my battery was fully charged and the gauge was faulty. That’s when I called Eco Battery and within 5 minutes they diagnosed and fixed the problem. I didn’t want anyone else to go through the frustration I went through.

@@PalmettoBatteryPros I just purchased this battery about a week ago and your video was very helpful, thank you. My battery has a serial number that indicates a Dec 2022 manufacture. I guess I do not have the features noted by Doug above, as I did not have his issue. 1) am I missing any new features? 2) is it possible for an end user to update firmware that might address bugs and efficiencies?

I just bought the Eco Battery 51v kit for my 2015 6 passenger Club Car Precedent. You skipped over connecting the red and black wires for the headlight to the 12v converter. Do you need to put metal ring connectors on them before connecting them to the 12v converter, or do just strip the wires and connect them. My kit should be arriving soon so just wanted to make sure I had everything to complete the install. Thanks for such an excellent clear installation video. This will make it so much easier to install my kit.

@@greenROB281 I wound up following the advice of Palmetto Battery Pros and installed a fuse block so I could install additional accessories later. On a side note, we take our 7 kids on regular rides on the miles of trails we have on our property. There are many steep hills. Previously, our lead acid batteries could barely make it back home and many times we had some of the older boys get out and push us up the hills. Now with the new Eco Battery, we zip right up the hills with no problems at all. I even tried stopping on the hill and then starting back up. It was not a problem at all. When we get back home, we still have over 80% battery life left. These batteries are amazing.

CAUTION, Ok, couple issues I have with video, unless I missed it on the video. IF anyone installs this Eco battery and installs the wire harness from gauge to battery, the 90 degree elbow screw-in fitting has 2 connectors off it. IF, the gauge does not charge, YOU MUST connect the pigtail coming off CHARGER to the pigtail coming off the 90 degree elbow of the gauge harness. There will be 2 connectors, you can connect to either one of them. The gauge will start working properly. 2nd, DO NOT TURN ON ANY LIGHTS, if you have a LIGHTING KIT INSTALLED which I did. I blew out the front HEAD LIGHT, TAIL LIGHTS and BLINKER RELAY. ONLY WORK IF YOU INSTALLED 48V LIGHTING KIT. IF, your lighting kit is 12v, make sure you find the (FUSED 20A, BLUE or RED wires in the harness before the "Y" which splits to the rear tail lights. Those need to go to a 12v source.

I just purchased my first Golfcart - a 2009 EZGO RXV with 48v lead acid/flooded and need to do this. as an old electrical engineer this should be no problem, installed 15KWh of LifePo4 already for my solar.

You can surely route them back to the controller and disconnect at the B-, this is how we do the installation now. Cutting and capping would be the easiest and least time consuming way, but disconnecting is surely the best way.

Have you had any issues with heat when you are running the charger and the seat/lid is down in the normal position? I just finished my install and started the first full charge. About 1 1/2 hours later when I lifted the seat up to look into the battery box I noticed it was really hot inside the box. I ended up propping open the seat to let the heat out while the first charge continues.

I purchased a battery from 48 105ah lithium and am attempting conversion myself. In 2013 clubcar precedent
I was told I could use existing club car lead acid charger.
Installed batteries. It worked fine. Plugged in charger over night. Did not work next day. The existing voltage meter shows power regardless of key on or off. I have checked all the fuses I. Can find. 1 in battery compartment and 2 behind controller panel.
I have replaced solenoid- same problem.😢
I reinstalled the original batteries and same problem excisted.
