12:50 If I just heard the man correctly, he said: I started as a kid, I am a stay at home dad, the wife works a few days a month, and I earn enough income for my family and I to do well enough to afford a home. Good Tour so far
Incredibly impressive set up. Great to see the passion of Grant and Shelby, you can see clearly that they aren't in it for money. Hopefully they can continue for many more years as they are fantastic ambassadors for the hobby.
Hello from Guyana 🇬🇾 my dream home with lots of aquariums. I started breeding bettas now I am breeding angels and was successful after failing about 4 times love your videos they r truly inspiring.
Really cool that you got to visit Grant and Shelby! They have an amazing shrimp/fish room and are a pleasure to be around. They're wonderful people and assets to the hobby
Saturday we took our Granddaughter to a local reek to play. As aquarium lovers we always take a shovel, couple nets, and specimen jars. She found a heard of these little fish they range from 1 inch up to 2 inch. We brought home 6. Three went into a cold water tank. The others I acclimated to a tropical tank. For good measure I floated then for over an hour. They are doing fine. This aquarium is all natural with dirt covered with sand substrate. It only has things we have found in creeks, and streams here in Tennessee.
You bring smile to my face. I dont know when I watch you. Its the very calm vibe I get from you and the way you explain and ask questions. Thank you cheering my heart with your pleasing personality. x
Holy smokes Batman ! , those shrimps are super fantastic never knew how many varieties there are and the selective breeding with strains of certain types it’s amazing❤️💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
WOW!!! WHAT AN AMAZING DEMONSTRATION OF SHRIMP!!! THE FACT WE MET AT SHELBY'S AND GRANT'S HOME WAS AWESOME BUT WHAT I DIDN'T SEE WHILE THERE, I SAW ON THIS STUNNING VIDEO!!! YOU AND HARLON ARE JUST SO AMAZING WITH YOUR CAMERA AND PHOTO EXCELLENCE!!! THANK YOU FOR VISITING US AND CAPTURING ONE OF OUR BEST SHRIMP FAMILY IN FLORIDA!!! SUPERB WORK NICK!!!
Wow, I really enjoyed that video. Even at 2hrs long, I couldn't watched it all day. Wish Shelby had shown off more of her fish though but Grant's the man! Awesome vid Nick
This one was crazy bro...very nice...keep it up. I was selling fish to a local fish store and we were talking about how much we love your channel. I'm in Missouri...you're doing great!!
I would love to fill my house with tanks like that but I would definitely drill the tanks and set up an automatic water change system. I'm way too lazy to be doing all those water changes by hand. Thanks for showing this to us, Nick and Harlan! Great video!
For the black devil snails around the 1 hour mark, the reason why those don’t breed is because they are actually a brackish water species. They’re usually found at estuarines and mangroves as opposed to the other rabbit snails which are found in lakes.
Bought my Blue Diamond shrimps from Garden of Eder. They're great! Beautiful blue colors. Hopefully you were able to float down the weeki wachee river while you visited.
Those shrimp are absolutely amazing....Wish they were over here in the UK! Grant and Shelby clearly know their stuff. Amazing stuff you guys! I absolutely love my tanks and want more but this is an insane amount of tanks!!! The constant noise from all those air pumps all over the house would probably drive me crackers😅🤣😂..........great video as always Nick...keep up the amazing content! Really love it! Make sure you stop by if you are ever in the UK doing a tour 😘
I thought the same thing but it's not as bad as you'd think. I really don't hear the actual pumps but the bubbles in each tank. It's kinda relaxing well to me anyways. I was shocked by the tanks when I seen it in person and they didn't even have every tank full of water, they have some bigger tanks empty.(I'd say around 50+ gallons each)
guppy and shrimp r the most culling intensive in the hobby, reason why I switch from guppy to rainbow and killi. as later simply all breed the same, for every pair of premium guppy u produce u probably need to cull 50 fish lol.
@@laujack24 Absolutely, and your margins get wrecked because you can't insta-cull, so you've gotta feed for a month or more before figuring out what you've got... And then having different grades, so you need more tanks... Huge no thank you. Importing is much easier and the margins are still healthy enough.
Great video Nick👍Finally managed to watched it all in a vew takes. I am following Grant for a while. He is a top shrimp breeder and a great example of someone focusing on their skill. Thaks for subbing btw!
Another amazing video! Nick and Harlan make a geat team. My head was spinning trying to follow the various names and the crosses of each shrimp type. I shudder to think about the cost Shelby and Grants water and power bills!
I could watch this once a week for several months and still be confused lol. I gotta say it was awesome meeting y'all when you visited TGOE and I'm sorry Grant but this video is a better tour of the shrimp house then I got in person lol..
@@laujack24 consider an autowaterchange system. its easier than you might think i built mine using Wifi Plugs and Solenoids. cheap and easy for overflow i did the Infinite siphon plumbing there are loads of videos on this in YT
Being from California, all I can think of when watching this is what the water bill must be. You can't run an operation like that in CA, the water bill would be in the thousands every month in a residential space.
Wow Grant and Shelby’s setup remind me of this low key breeding setup I saw in Japan a couple years ago. Let me tell you little story…. I knew this guy known as “Garlic-Noji” he was friends with Coryoji. He was a cousin of Kinoji, who studied at Django Kiyoji. He moved to a place called Crustiji, where he met Mrs Kanishki. There they had a kid name Gobi, who grew up to become a Blazing Pillpoji
I feel like they should just rebuild their back yard and have another building constructed over that swimming pool area dedicated as the main fish room. no need too big since its mostly 10 gallon. that way they dont need to squeeze everything into their living space. given their son and daughter will eventually grow up to be a teenager. I dont think they would like to have 50 tanks in their living space with their parent coming in on a daily basis.
Hey can we get a update on the zebra plecos And also if they breed again can you get a yellow king tiger pleco to breed with them they would be hella expensive and cool
I would love to build a 4ft Australian biotope could you please help me with figuring out what fish and plants to put in, what type of rainbow and gudgeon combination should I have?
Hello there hey I'm freaking out my angel fish had babies I collected them after they started swimming and put them in my 10 gallon planted tank and I've noticed that they are dieing what do I do
That's a lot of shrimp, I hear them say water changes I get confused as a lot of people say don't and just do top ups. What is the best way to keep shrimp.
Hi Nick i am 13 and want to breed and sell fish i live in Nz so its pretty similar to Australia i watched all your videos on that topic can you give me any advice?
i find it interesting how yall critter keepers call your animals “my work”. yall also refer to a whole genetic line as “my creation”. this isnt hate btw i just find it really interesting. thanks for the video KFS!!
@@sewerrat7612eh I think people can definitely create their own line from someone else’s or a combination of someone else’s or multiple people, not just wild
@markvickery5894 possibly but when does it actually become a other line. And not just a slight difference on someone else's work. Not that thiers anything wrong with that improvement is still improvement.
Within the first 10 minutes, he managed to convince me to never try caradina shrimp lol if they are as fragile as he makes them out to be around the 8-9 minute mark, i don't know why anyone would want to keep them.
What a book of knowledge dude has just stored in his memory. Should write a book
