  • In this video Andy and Lony completely strip down Lony's 1980s Mercedes Benz 190E in order to get it ready for a total respray. This episode shows the complete teardown process of a classic Mercedes!
    First they remove the car's sunroof and chrome trim before getting into removing the bumpers, mirrors, headlights, and taillights. During the taredown Andy and Lony find dirt that had built up over the past 30 years!
    Next Andy and Lony remove the Mercedes badging and grill which proved to be more difficult than originally anticipated. They also discuss the details of Sydney's "area" including who is and isn't a part of it.
    Finally the two compare how old cars are to work on against newer cars and how owners manuals have become less informative over the years. Follow along this satisfying video as the two figure out that old Mercedes are built like tanks!
    All that and much more in this episode of Andy's Car Vlog, Enjoy!

    I’ve had my 190e 2.6 since 2003. I ended up buying an 87 2.3 a few years ago. I’m not a mechanic and I’m not financially well-off but I love these cars. Never get tired of the way they look and handle.

      Surely they're set to go up in value soon!

    Wow that is one clean 190e!!! No question this one lived in a garage. I purchased a 1991 Sportline 2.0 automatic a few weeks ago here in Canada. Mine is rust free also. Extremely well built cars. Great video.

      Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the video! Awesome to hear that you’ve got a clean example of a Sportline 2.0 😄

    Wow the bumper removal process is so easy. I have to remove a million different brackets on my S5 just to remove the inner lining and you're still halfway through that job.
    No wonder insurance claims for new cars are typically expensive. Maybe we should all just drive 190Es.

    I have a 190e sent for paint . My auto body guy wants to know how to remove the moulding / trim on the boots the plastic paneling in the doors . You guys didn’t show how it was done in the video . Do you remember if it was done just prying it off ? Or opening doors removing the door and dismantling clips from inside

    I am a 16 year old 190E owner, I'm a bit scared of repairing the car because i think it will all break easily after all the years, but apparently not😂 (talking about the interior stuff mainly)

    This video helped so much with my 190 project. Where are the bolts accessable to remove the rear bumper?

    • @AndySprocket
      @AndySprocket  2 года назад +2

      Glad you enjoyed it! The bolts are just underneath the brake light housings, you might have to remove the plastic scuff plate to get to them 👍
