Stormrunner definitely should have won the airtime category. Along with the tophat it also has a moment right before the barrel roll that provides ejector airtime.

It is very hard to add scenery on launch coasters as you’re going too fast to even see and acknowledge the purpose and theme itself of the theming.

Okay, yeah but... these two coasters each go 75 MPH or more. They’re also both less than a minute, half a minute long. For that kind of coaster it is impossible or nearly impossible unless you have a theme like in Rock’n roller coaster. Which even then is very hard.

I feel like xcelerator kinda has some theming with the race lights at the start plus, xcelerator has the hot rod trains but storm runner trains is just well, there.

The layout on Xcel is more concise tho, and on SR it just kinda meanders around

Xcelerator has a better launch than TTD? and with layout i would give it to Storm Runner, more elements and longer, smoothness i would give storm runner 8 instead of 9, and where is the lenght/duration category?
MovieBoysHD the launch has very very slighty more force, but TTD retains the force for a longer period of time so you reach a much higher speed (obviously)
The launch right out of the station gives it a higher sense of speed, especially to riders in the back seat

I agree. The top hat, the entrance to the flying snake dive, and the banks all give great airtime. And Storm Runner also has awesome hangtime which is something that Xcelerator doesn't offer.

Cedar fair dont like high maintance rides, hence the fact they dont have many intamin or gertslaur rides and the amount of B&M, MACK and GCI rides, known to be easier to maintain

I feel like stormrunner has a far superior layout. Also if you sit in the back you actually get some airtime on that first drop which is great.
Xcelerator's launch really is awesome. The fact that it goes straight out of the station really builds anticipation when you are in line and watching all the people before you being launched
Xcelerator is themed to the 1950s, with a car outside the station, the trains are to look like 1957 Chevrolet cars, and it's overall themed as a 1950s style drag race, which is also why you have the stoplight countdown. :)

Storm Runner has a horse on the station and cars, and the station slightly resembles a barn. Xcelerator still has a better theme though.
***** Yeah, Europe has really well themed parks. The US, while it does have some, is lacking in theming. US has more thrills but Europe has more well rounded parks.
***** Europe does have more world class coasters. Europe has a bunch of 10/10 coasters. However, the US has some 10/10 coasters and a lot of 7/10 to 9/10 coasters.
***** It depends on how good the coaster is. I see theming as a bonus that isn't necessary. However, I live in the US where theming is very minimal. Theming like on Taron is awesome and makeas a great coaster even better. But theming on something like Arthur doesn't necessarily make it a 10/10
I think you should just drop the height category and have pacing as a category over speed because height and speed are just stats

Quan Narula yes but if a coaster is set on a small bu compact layout, say wicked cyclone, although the stats say it isn't too fast it still feels fast because the elements are back to back to back.
+Quan Narula +TurkaDurk I think pacing is more important than speed. If a coaster has good pacing, it feels fast. Just look at Wicked Cyclone and Nemesis. They aren't statistically very fast, but they feel very fast. On the other hand, coasters like Flying Aces and Intimidator at Carowinds have high speeds statistically, but the pacing is bad and they feel slow. And pacing is probably the most important quality a coaster can have because good pacing means that airtime, intensity, drops, and transitions are better.

I’ve only ridden xcelerator and a back row ride is intense as heck because you get whipped over the drop

I've been on both. There's definitely a ton of airtime on storm runner! I was out of my seat 80% of the ride. Overall, I prefer storm runner. Did the guy who made this video actually ride both rides? Or is it off of footage and specs?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! All right all right.... storm runner has a "bit" of airtime? The top hat sends you FLYING! And the drop is awesome!
But the top hat on Xcelerator gives the same amount of airtime for its top hat... so even if I gave Storm Runner more points, I'd have to match it with Xcelerator, so the results wouldn't have been impacted anyways.
A coaster from my home park. I never been on Xcelerator. Storm Runner is my third favorite roller coaster following Great Bear at number 2 and Skyrush at number 1

Fun fact about Xcelerator: I read that the launch is capable of going up to 117mph in the same distance, but they only need it to go to 82 or whatever it is. That's pretty crazy considering it doesn't cover much ground.
I prefer storm runner on my part because it's a longer ride and I love the transitions
I rode storm runner with both restraints. I like the newer ones WAY better.
How. Xcelerator has a pretty bland layout in my opinion. On the other hand, Storm Runner is one of a kind, the only inverting accelerator. It might just be my east coast bias showing through, but I personally think Storm Runner is superior. And also, happy birthday!
Storm Runner isn't the only inverting accelerator; Kanonen as Liseberg has a vertical loop (to be fair though, Kanonen's closing soon...)

Inversions don't make a ride good. Xcelerator (which is also at my home park) is one of the most intense rides in the US. The overbanks are VERY intense, as I almost blacked out on them, the launch feels much faster because you launch out of the station, and you get a spectacular view of Buena Park from the top of the top hat.

I LOVE Xcelerator because it's at my home Cedar Fair park and that it's fun, but It was SO INTENSE that at this point, I'm stuck between deciding if I will or won't ride it again.

As for airtime, I feel like you've completely forgotten to mention the insane airtime in the flying snake dive. Storm Runner could defiantly have added a point or two for that. Then again, every time I've been to Knott's Xcelerator has been down so I've never been on it.

Xcelerator rattled it’s way through the layout when I rode it. No way it’s butter smooth.
Xcelerator is so far my favorite roller coaster I have ever been on. I have been on 25 in 4 states.
Xcelerator is such an amazing ride. I just wish it was a little bit longer. At least it has more elements than rides like Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka (although it is half as tall). Those over bank turns are really fun.
Storm runner is great too but be real here, Xcelerator has lap bars, launches out of the station, has great tophat airtime, and storm runner just had weird inversions that arent what accelerators are about. Xcelerator is a perfect ride
Cool video! Sadly we haven't been on either of these yet. Seeing as we're doing a Pennsylvania tour next year, Looks like Storm Runner is getting our attention before Accelerator.

Hello everyone! So I'm going to Six Flags Over Georgia from the Chicagoland area and we were trying to find a park besides Dollywood (very expensive) that would be on the way that is still open in November. We are willing to drive a little bit further to go to one, but we can't find any nearby. Thanks for any responses!
I prefer Storm Runner because I like all the fast inversions which I felt was intense in the back row.....I also like Xcelerator because of the turns, but me, I LOVE inversions and twist over some banks (for some reason) and that is the reason I love Alpengeist so much! XD

I mean, for theming, I would have given Xcelerator AT LEAST a 3-4. The trains themselves are 50s Chevys, There are signs that say stuff like "Pedal To the metal", and there's a whole gas station themed gift shop outside of the entrance.

I rode Excelerator for my first time on Wednesday August 11 2021 and twice on the same day
As someone who honestly has just not been a big fan of a lot of Intamin's launching coasters of this type, I even given Xcelerator a very high score just in general. Like that's what Intamin should've been making way before it got built. Ok, yeah Storm Runner has inversions. But the shoulder restraints do make it less comfortable. And unlike Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka you've got a not super long but existent ride of it going around multiple areas and keeping speed and high intensity that lasts. Xcelerator is a gem, it should actually be held in far higher regards. It is probably one of the best launched coasters ever made period beyond those of it's own design let alone others. I have loved some mack launched coasters as well as Premiere's, especially the mr. freeze reverse blast or joker's jinx (two different types but both premiere). And I have dissed Intamin a lot for being overrated and also their bad downtime. This ride has downtime but is just not on the level of the others with that, thankfully. If Xcelerator got a parody I call it "Intamin Launcher that's always open and has some length-the ride."

What if he included duration category?
Storm Runner is underrated. And I know for sure if he included duration, Xcelerator would've won that category. The problem is, the person who actually made this admitted by saying Xcelerator better, which is why he lowered Storm Runner's score because the world hates inversions nowadays.
I absolutely love xcelerator, but I think since knott's isn't as crazy, so that is why it doesn't go as fast

Although I am a Knotts Fanboy, I will admit that, although Xcelerator's layout really makes it feel like you are going FAST, SR does have a better layout.
I actually got quite a bit of airtime going over the tophat.
Yeah there is a decent amount of airtime on stormrunner... That top hat is great
Also I have been on both and stormrunner is soooo much more intense. You get a night ride on stormrunner it is pure madness. You get off completely disoriented and it is very forceful. Xcelerator is intense but definetly not as intense as stormrunner.

Xcelerator is the most intense ride I've ever riden. Sit in the back and over the top hat I was flying! One of my favorite rides at Knotts.
Xcelerator is supposed to be based on a drag race, with a 1950s style car.
Storm runners very bumpy and like whoosh but storm runners great we told people to put their hands up to laugh when we see them fly back
