    I like that you have sprayed everything you're going to remove with penetrant. I see so many mechanics attack rusty nuts and bolt without preparing the work. I'm glad to watch a professional.

    Good Video! only if it were that easy all the time! Mine were so ruty that I had to take a small cutting like grinder tool and cut both ends off and the i still had cut the bolt off each end the rust on my 2006 honda accord ex v6 was bad! Remember people these youtube video will never show you the big problems that you will usually run into. Thanks for the video though!

    For future reference, most times the studs to the sway bar links have an Allen head on them to put an Allen wrench to hold them instead of using those locking pliers.

      there was no clearance unless she removed the fork

      @@johnjoseph7382 you can cut the Allen key to the size to hold.

    The factory manual states that the lower control arm should be raised to load it with the vehicle weight (a common step in suspension work) before torquing the bolts to spec. Then, after 5 minutes of driving, to re-torque the bolts.

    • @johnjoseph7382
      @johnjoseph7382 3 года назад +1

      that applies to bolts with a bushing inside....it's likely that the service manual recommends removing the fork which has a bushing going around the lower bolt

    • @johnjoseph7382
      @johnjoseph7382 3 года назад +1

      obviously she didn't remove it

      That is only for the LCA, which she didn't touch, there is no need to do that if only doing the links.

    Good video to visualize the job. I would take the time and get the wishbone out of the way. Depending on your tools it would take like 10 min per wheel, in my mind I would rather do that all day instead of take locking pliers near a boot. Someone else already said this but always load suspension before torquing down suspension components, particularly where a ball joints are used (sway bar end link having two) this avoids stretch and premature failure. Torque specs are 28 ft-lbs for upper and 22 ft-lbs for lower

    • @johnjoseph7382
      @johnjoseph7382 3 года назад +3

      that applies to bushings so they don't contort when loaded not to ball joints

      What methods are used to load the suspension before torquing?

    Can someone explain why there's a need to use the needle nose pliers to remove that nut? Isn't the bolt fixed in the sway bar link? And how do you load the suspension as some have mentioned?

    I was like 14mm? WHAT?! I was trying that and couldn’t get it to fit but the new part has a 15mm WHICH MEANS mine was already replaced before 🤔

    Is there a right side and a left side or are the both the same.

    • @AlbertAC54
      @AlbertAC54 4 года назад

      Right and left are different -- they're mirror images of one another, so the angles between the ball joints are reversed form one side to the other.

    • @johnjoseph7382
      @johnjoseph7382 3 года назад

      almost always both the same for aftermarket
