I been getting stomach pains when I siphon water from any type of those fiber straw filter, just started using Grayl 3 weeks ago the water taste so pure and never got any stomach pain after drinking out of grayl purify bottles, I bought extra filter to keep on hand for emergency, I only use this bottle for everday use, love Grayl bottles.

One of the big advantages of the Sawyer Mini is that you don't have to use their bottles, bags, or backflush syringes. Get 2 Smart Water bottles with the sport tip. The tip fits the back flush port on the filter, and the filter will screw onto the bottle. Fill one bottle with dirty water and screw on the filter. You can then drink directly from the bottle by sucking on the filter, you can squeeze the bottle in the same way you would the bag, or you can rig it as a gravity feed to fill the other bottle.

Great video brother! Also great points on the Grayl, I may look into switching!
But I absolutely agree with shoes, health , and pack to get outdoors! Hike and get comfortable but with adding camping I say splurge on a good shelter you will be happy with and comfortable with.

Thanks buddy and for sure. I purchased a cheap small three pound Ozark Trail ($30) tent to take and try on my 20 miler this weekend to see how it fares...I hope the price point isn't indicative of the capabilities, lol. I like finding diamonds in the rough and love surprises 😆

I have carried a Berkey Sport bottle filter for quite a few years which they said took care of chemical runoff and metals. I might need to change to something new as there was some lawsuits that they were boosting their products capabilities, namely the countertop model. I am fortunate that I have access to plenty of clean artesian wells so I fill 5 to 10 gallons before I go out and well I am not up to long backpacking trips any more.

We are going to stash Jerry cans of water at points along the trail to refill when we come across them...I just hope they don't get taken...it seems there is a problem with that at this trail sadly.

I like the grayl because you can pour from it to fill a canteen and then refill the grayl.

$200 for what? Here in the US a Grayl is $99 or $10-$20 less when on sale. The Sawyer in my video is around $50 and both are linked below in the description box.
