Awesome performance! Your last video was about how one can control their volume when playing and you definitely showcased that perfectly! I thought your ability to express the piece emotionally was superb.
Thank you very much, Frank! I am glad it felt emotionally fulfilling for you! its is the most important to me, to bring out that emotional connection between the composer and the listener . This is why I allow myself some technical imperfections, as long the expressive power of the music is maintained.
My oh my. I closed my eyes and enjoyed it for the stunning interpretation of this Chopin Ballad that is is. Pedal work is amazing. The space/time between some notes was exquisite. Finally, emotion isn't as easy to convey through the piano as some may think. Thank you for sharing your talent. My oh my.
Dear Marc, I thank you for being so generous and insightful with your praise, I value every word very much! yet, I do not think I deserve it ...yet.. I am very happy that some details of my interpretation come through in a persuasive way! I do think about each note and pause, and what they means in the context. But unfortunately I still have a difficult time controlling my emotions and too many notes get lost ...and the coda also I want it to be more fiery... But these are things to keep working on, and really appreciate your support and encouragement!! 🎹❤️
Many thanks for your comment and for listening! I am flattered by comparison with Pollini!! 😊 I played this piece again recently. I think my interpretation developed since this recording. And I will keep playing this piece in the future, I'm sure it will not stay the same, naturally. I love this ballade and also no. 4! Next on my list.
I stayed up until 2:15am watching videos on your channel last night. This was the one I ended with. I started to work on this Ballade over 25 years ago and quit. Ballade #4 is my dream now. It too is atmospheres over my head. I’ve been watching RUclips videos for guidance while I memorized the first four pages in the hopes I won’t get psyched out on page five (Joseffy Edition) that I have heard referred to as Contrapuntal. I am going to re-watch your video on choosing fingering that first brought me to your channel which has got to help. Thank you for taking the time away from your practicing to help out someone like me try to improve !
Thanks so much for your interest in my videos! 🙏🏻 I also love the 4th ballade. it is very challenging and requires a very mature interpretation. I love how Yulianna Avdeeva played it at the Chopin competition in 2010. Best of luck with your playing!
This is beautiful. Normally I can figure out differences in sound between a digital and accoustic piano, but for this video I wouldn't have noticed. Also, you might be the only pianist to practice this piece on a budget digital piano!
Dear William, I am very moved by your comment. Thank you so much! I will cherish it for a long time to come, that you thought so highly of my interpretation. 🙏
Amazing performance!! Hopefully I’ll be able to play classical music like that some day. I started learning piano back in July, and I am thinking about getting that same digital piano for myself, regardless I definitely have a lot to learn!
Thank you very much for your kind feedback about my videos!🙏🏻 I am very glad that people enjoy them and can benefit from the tutorials! Keeps me motivated to post more! 👩🏻🏫🎹
Wow! Wonderful performance. I think it sounded great technically and emotionally. I learned the first half earlier this year but didn't finish it because of my technique/stamina.
Thank you very much for the encouragement! It is indeed a very difficult piece, still have a couple spots where I need more stamina as well...Don't give up on it though! its such a rewarding piece to perform. Very fulfilling, such an array of different emotions and transitions between them. Like real life:)
Thank you for sharing your talent! Listening and watching this while on the stair master at the gym… an incredible performance! You are extremely talented!
I am arriving late today but let me tell you that I enjoyed it very much. Well executed and pushed the keyboard to the limits. I am taking my hat off in front of you and I will pay my ticket to see you at a concert!. Keep going and God bless you.
Ohhhh, I was so distracted watching you playing that I forgot to “like” the video, hahaha so I came back to do it. Yamaha should sponsor you (pay you) to make videos about the capabilities of this keyboard.
Thank you so much, as usual, you are too kind! Yes, I am probably pushing this keyboard to the limit...but its surviving well so far:) Can't wait to once again own an acoustic piano one day. And if I do a concert one day, I will be sure to get you a ticket. Appreciate your support!
@@Dariafortepiano I will be waiting for that ticket even if it is at the back of the auditorium. I would have loved if when I was learning piano my teachers were half of what you are. Hope I can get my keyboard one day soon and learn from you some of the technique that I was never taught
Thank you:). Oh , that reminds me! About the keyboard. I saw today my student , who has the keyboard Yamaha DGX 650 . I thought it was the other one, you asked about. But I think it's just the older model of it. It's very decent. If wanted to get that one instead of p515 it will be probably fine. Of course not nearly as good, but I thinks it's better than p125 . I made a little video of playing on it, I might upload it in the couple of days. Best, Daria
Thanks so much! I have recently revisited the piece and going to perform it again in May. It's been a journey for me for sure. But don't be afraid and just start learning. It is a wonderful piece to hone on your musicality, touch and technique.
I feel every movement and note you are playing ... That’s the way a piece should be played .... As a story telling &/or conversation 🙏🏽💥👍🏽 To me , that’s a very soulful as a jazz piece .... because you play it with very real deep emotion ... 🙏🏽💥👍🏽...
Thank you for our kind comment! yes, I like pushing limits:) I hope this keyboard can withstand some more of my future performances, it has been great so far!
Thank you very much. for the compliments! Haha, yes, I also thought that the light had its own interesting fluctuations, and it added to the atmosphere of the performance. :)
Great intensity, strong emotions. And excellent interpretation of the Coda, that is much more challenging than how it is actually rated (and that I never managed to play decently...). Congratulations, really!
Thank you kindly for your feedback with all the details! Yes, the famous Coda...Still not the way I wanted it to sound, but getting there:) its just so difficult to not completely loose yourself in it, and to control your fingers while getting carried away by "con fuoco"...I love Chopin! what a master of piano, and of human emotions!
I just found your channel because I was looking for reviews on the Yamaha 515 which is among those I'm considering purchasing. One neg review I read said that the touch was too heavy and was fatiguing to play. They measured with key weights and found C3 was about 90gm - their proof that action was too heavy. They also said it should be around 55-60 GM. It's impossible for me to go out and try one before buying, so I would like to know what do you think of the action and the weights of the keys? I started in Classical music but now I play chiefly Gospel and Jazz, which doesn't usually have sustained passages requiring forte playing as Classical pieces have.
if you select Bosendorfer imperial, cathedral and reverb in 127 sounds stunning, great performance and great piano, i have the same one😊greetings from Spain🌹
The g minor is definitely one of my most favorite pieces. My daughter played it when she was young so it stayed with me ever since. Thank you for bringing out a wide dynamic range and emotions out of a Yamaha P515 which I did not think was possible. Brava! Would love to see you playing the piece on a Steinway one day!
Thank you so much!!🙏I also love this piece dearly, it is personally very meaningful for me as well. Glad you enjoyed my interpretation! I will keep perfecting it and will definitely play it on nice acoustic instruments once I get access to one🙂
This video makes me want to buy the P515 right now! You already have me running downstairs to go play this piece, but it's on my ancient Yamaha P model.
Haha, you can definitely buy it , but probably will need to wait a bit before it can be delivered, at least in the US. 🧐 I am very glad that my performance inspired you!!😊🙏🏻 Chopin can sound great even on an old Yamaha p model;)
Oh, thank you, Robert! You are too kind. 😊 I hope I might be good enough to play in public one day, but for now just home recordings. im so glad you find this interpretation persuasive 😁🙏
I still can’t get over how good the Yamaha p515 sounds, when I play it, it really feels like I’m in it. Can’t explain it but you know what I mean I bet.
Yes, definitely! Especially with headphones it absorbs you very closely....I do prefer the CFX sound though with default settings at least. I will need to play around with reverb and other settings more, as you suggested to get the best out of Bösendorfer.
Haha, I tried a little bit , but it seems too much reverb. Sound blends too much, no "space" between notes really. I think its fun to try things, but it is a matter of taste after all if we prefer one way or another:) Sorry for the belated response! Cheers!
Listening to Your performance here again , it is MOVING 💥🙏🏽... To me , when music is really moving me emotionally technique is almost nit even thought about in the mind of the listener because the feel jist puts in in the trance of the moment , making it truly mimicking experience ... I’m really feeling this performance ...... This performance really feels like it belonged in an actual concert hall. I personally would save that performance , and transfer the midi date to an actually computer type player piano set up on very High quality ‘real’ acoustic grand piano and listen to it being replayed right on an actual acoustic grand piano ..... The way that you played sounded to me like it should be saved 🙏🏽💥👍🏾
Thank you very much Clyde! I value your words very much and I am very glad that not everyone believes that I good pianist should play "every note correctly", as a robot would, and there are perceptive listeners like you, who value what is "between the notes":) I also believe that the musical substance transmitted through performance, the emotional component is more important, than "clean" playing. this is why I allowed myself to post this "work in progress" performance, which not fully polished yet, because I bought it has something unique to offer musically. I do not believe I deserve as much praise as you kindly give me, but I hope with hard work I might one day deserve it and play it somewhere in a concert hall. Meanwhile I will try to record it on an acoustic grand somewhere. Thanks again for our support!
@@Dariafortepiano .... When a performance reaches the general audience emotionally that is very significant 🙏🏽💥👍🏽... If the midi data of your performance was recorded even , then it could be transferred to an actual acoustic grand piano that has a computerized mechanical player piano type hook up , so you wouldn’t even need to de lest your Performace . The MIDI data of the present actual Performace could then be Transferred... 🤗🙏🏽💥👍🏽 So it’s actually nice if the P515 has really nice piano like action feel & touch ... that way if ever you wish to transfer the very performance that your ex completed right on the P-515 . You would need to perform it again physically ... That’s the beauty of recording the MIDI data of a Performace as well .... Plus one cna keep the actual performance and even change to a different piano sound on the keyboard as well ... with out ‘re-performing ‘ physically 🤗💥👍🏽
Beautifully played. I've heard this before, but just not quite the way you have performed this piece. Chopin it seems was a pseudo-proto modernist, with a style of composition bordering on the neuvo-arts of then Paris. I like Raindrops and reissued interest for this piece since I have seen the movie Prometheus. He lead such an ill life, but in his music he lives on. Thanks.
Hello, and thank you for your beautiful comment!🙏🏻 I know its been 3 months, my apologies for not responding sooner. but better late than never, I believe:) Yes, I agree, Chopin, whose spirit was much stronger than his body, brought innovation especially to with his through-composer forms, and the short forms, such as preludes. Each of them a gem in its won way. I was just recently browsing for movies to watch and Prometheus came up, I saved it to my watch list.👍🏻
So intense, so beautiful, and.... amazing words not enough. I cant play yet but i hear when music presents in the right way, chopin would be proud , thanks from mikael and gothenburg, sweden
I recommend an additional perfection with the lesson about this piece Ballade 1 from Denis Zhdanov, an exceptional pianist in my eyes, and a really great teacher. He is on RUclips as well.
Hi Andrea! Thank you for your kind comment. 🙏 regarding your question, I cover it in detail in my review video, which you can find on the channel. The first chapter is action, so you don't need to watch the whole thing:) in summary, I liked the action! It's a bit heavier than an everywhere digital piano, but I prefer that over lighter keys. Close to acoustic piano in feel, IMO, but slightly on the less balanced side. So maybe harder to control for someone with less experience with weighted keys. Hope this helps! Cheers!👩🏫🎹
Many thanks for your kind words!🙏 haha, I would consider, if they offer:) the CFX is my dream piano!! 🎹❤ If I can even get my hands on one, even just for a couple of hours....😃
@@Dariafortepiano Thank you for replying and you absolutely deserve the kind words 🙂 I would send this video to them, if I were you 🎈 Enjoying your videos so much, good luck with everything !
NICE! It just keeps getting better and BETTER! You must have played very well previously. Awesome dynamic range! Your settings are fine for this. I'm curious as to which touch setting and the approximate volume level setting you're using. For as lovely as this is, I would love even more to hear you perform it on a well-voiced and regulated grand in a responsive room. This is concert-artist level playing that deserves the full plenum of an acoustic instrument and room. For as delicate and robust as this piece is, even a very good digital instrument struggles to deliver. There are some points at which I think you would throw more into the instrument if it were capable of returning it. But your performance pulls out all the musicality the instrument can give. It is at this point that my ears are stretching to hear that acoustic cocktail of artist-instrument-and-room. Thoroughly enjoyed this. - thank you!
Thank you very much! Well, more than 10 years ago I was a piano major, so I was aspiring to be good, but was lacking somewhat in technique and endurance on stage. It is coming back to me rather quickly, I suppose. Yet, so much more to be done to match what I envision in my head with what my fingers are doing. ...Thank you for your support! :)
@@Dariafortepiano just keep on keepin' on! :-) As far as endurance it may be critical for you to be matched with a well-regulated instrument. I remember in college the recital stage grand was considerably heavier in action than most of the practice room instruments. We had to book practice time for several weeks in advance to ramp up to it - not an instrument I enjoyed playing a lot on even after I had acquired the stamina for it. Very difficult for light and fast pieces such as Schubert's A-flat minor impromptu (Op. 90 no.4).
Will definitely record this on an acoustic grand piano. But it is a bit difficult to access a good one nowadays. Will keep looking. Thank you for all the suggestions!!
@@Dariafortepiano I hope that you can. Do you have a preference for which instrument - say for example Yamaha? Or Steinway? Other? I tend to find Steinway instruments are generally more lyrical in their timbre than Yamaha instruments which are more level in their tone. I do not want to start a brand war here - just interested if you had your choice which you might prefer from your experience.
Amazing. My favorite Composer forever Chopin! How long have you been playing for? I subscribed. Also what made you choose this digital piano. What other contenders were there? Thanks
Hi Gustavo! thank you for subscribing and for your kind feedback! Sorry for the belated answer. Yes, Chopin has a special place in my heart as well! To answer your questions will be a bit long and not very easy, but I will be truthful. I have been playing from age 6 until 20 seriously. Graduated from a music college with a degree in piano performance, but then stopped playing seriously for a decade. Now I'm back at practicing every day since April, making slow but steady progress. About choosing this piano I will copy my answer from another comment, I hope you don't mind:) Why this model and not a higher end DP: Budget, sadly.. First, I was looking at Kawai CA series with the wooden keys, they felt very nice the action, but didn't like the sound as much as CFX sample of Yamaha. Of course it cannot compare to the real instrument, but I found it good enough and capable of expressing what I wanted to deliver in my playing. I liked the Yamaha CLP 645, but it is 3.5 k and this Yamahas with the same sound sample and action is only 1.5k. So I went for it. And it is portable, so I can take it and play in nature:) I don't need to adjust my fingers too much when I switch to an acoustic piano, it does not feel like I am practicing on a keyboard and suddenly here is a real piano. But of course the sound will be a completely different story on an acoustic. But if you are in headphones, it sounds more realistic I think. It all subjective opinion, of course. In the portable range I was also looking at Roland fp-90 and Kawai ES8. I also liked Yamaha YDP 184 sound and feel, but it is a console (not portable) and plastic keys. Also I really liked CLP 665GP, if you are looking for a digital Grand piano option , (has plastic keys though, but gorgeous sound and powerful) just feels too much $ for me right now.... (around 5.2 K) I would rather buy a decent upright acoustic later. Cheers!
Hi Pedro. Thank you kindly for your comment! I love Chopin too! he is in my top 3 composers:) He is so human is his emotions...and so genuine.. Ah, tough question...my favorite parts are: second theme when it first appears so tenderly (m. 68), and then second time when it make in a triumphant return with octaves (measures 106-125) (the part which I messed up the most....because I get so emotional, hard to control, need to get better at this...) and the part right before the coda (il pie forte possibile) and the coda itself....of course:)) I think my most favorite in measures 109-114:) Which is your favorite part/parts?
@@pedrodavidrodrigues1959 ah. Yes! I love how it changes the second time too! It feels very satisfying the second time and the contrst before the first theme comes back is very strong!!
@@Dariafortepiano Congratulations again.. I loved! I don't think you need to play it any better because it is already perfect!🥰 ( just my opinion!..) very details whith dynamics.. and also this piece is incredible.. I also play the piano. I hope to be as good as you one day
Hello again Daria 🙏🏽.... Just out the blue ... to mention again about saving Your performances in MIDI file format as well then you may even be able to release an album without even leaving your home 🤗 , by just having the tranfer of your performances’ MIDI files to a studio , location or even remote studio or recording engineer who may have access to a fine grand piano where the none permanently placed QRS player piano system may be placed right over the keys of a very fine piano 🎹, and play back a nice performance of your choosing (from the midi files if your performance ) , then that remote recording engineer could then try various Methods of 🎤 mic placements in recording that fine grand piano playing your performance as if you were there present in person 🤗. Once the Performace is recorded on an actual acoustic grand , then once the recording is mixed and mastered , it can be released as a digital download , or pressed to cd 💿 if desired 🙏🏽. Tomorrow is not promised (in this life at least ) 🙏🏽 Once you’ve worked extensively enough on a piece ‘ and are happy with it , if saved in MIDI file format why not publish it for prosperity ? 🙏🏽🤗
Thanks you so much Clyde ,for your thoughtful remarks!! I am still working in this piece, it's not finished, as it does not quite sound the way I wanted, and a few technical spots need to be fixed. After that I will definitely make a recording for the "save and listen later folder":) for now, this one can enjoy its life on my channel here.
I made a whole review video on this piano, if you would like to get some more details about different aspects of it, including the action. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/NHt0wbKgPVk/видео.html Quick reply: I like the action. IMHO it is not exactly like acoustic, of course, but heavy enough to emulate closely. In its price range I like the action a lot. Again, the acoustic pianos are all soooo different, so it's a hard question to answer.
If your Performace was saved with the MIDI data as well , then I’ve love to hear the exact performance’s MIDI data just transferred to an actual quality acoustic piano 🎹 with a computerized player piano hooked up in it . There’s even a lesser expansive system out there that does not have to be permanently installed , so it can be used on just any piano .... in case there’s a very high quality piano as some location that you might wish to hear your present actually Performace played back on ... I think that’s the nice aspect of a very nice compact and portable electronic piano I with very good piano like action ... (Then the next interesting thing , I think , would be to be able to trigger an actual acoustic piano remotely from another location , with a pianist performing in a digital electronic piano keyboard .... (Shiite triggering the acoustic grand piano, live ... at another location ) 🤗
😄 I like your sense of humor:) To be honest I do not even like the Bösendorfer sample that much, it is significantly less rich in nuances and depth than the CFX, so almost never use it. Sorry to disappoint.
@@Dariafortepiano You would sound even more fantastic on a Kawai VPC1 using the Garritan CFX Concert Grand on a laptop and some incredible IK Multimedia iLoud MTM studio monitors! It may be worth the investment one day :-)
I'm curious how you experience the weight of the action. Several vidios on youtube speak about 70 gram which is way more than a concert grand (max 62), for me a reason not even to try the Yamaha 515. (see ruclips.net/video/8q5zDY4lcRk/видео.html).
Hi Frits, I saw your comment and it's similar to one I asked in Daria's ruclips.net/video/scYJpgc81pQ/видео.html video. She had a great response I'd recommend you check out. I actually just purchased the p515 amd for me, it feels incredible. The action does not feel overly heavy. It really is a lovely digital piano.
I own the P-515 and I find the weight just right. Actually, I had to set it to hard 1 in order to control the pianissimo better ruclips.net/video/_kaL9Udanf0/видео.html
Hi Fritz and thank you for your question! To be brief, the action is heavier than p125, or DGX 660, or Kawai es 8, but it is good and comfortable, for me. It also means that the depth of sound nuances will be grater on this keyboard as well, given an amazing sound bank they have). It is a VERY SUBJECTIVE matter though. It depends on your technical level and the way you play, and which instruments you are used to. I have seen this video before I bought my p515, I also had to buy without trying. My advice is to try CLP 645, if its available in the store and p515 is not, They have the same action, so you can try for yourself and evaluate the action. I have not weighted the keys, but I might try, since so many people are asking:) I personally disagree with his statement that action is more important than sound. one of the reasons I did not go for Kawai was the sound was to mellow to my taste. ( it is all a matter of taste after all:) And you can adjust to any kind of action if you need to, but you can not replace the sound bank, or change the way the instrument's tone (only tweak minor details such as brightness, reverb, etc). Also, I have played recently on 2 Grands (Kawai and Young Chang, which had much heavier action than my p515, so what he is saying about an average Grand piano compared to p515 is also not entirely valid. My old upright at home also has very heavy action, compared to this P515. Sorry to criticize, but I speak from my personal experience. ) I hope it helped a bit! Daria
you're such a great pianist Daria! impressive technique and great expression. Bravissima! Such a good posture also. Looking at this video i was thinking how many mental trips we often do to search for great expensive digital pianos (i am looking for it at the moment i just sold my grand piano) and in the end, when you REALLY know how to play like you, it is more than enough a 1,5k Digital to produce these wonderful results. Just curious, you deserve a very high end DP (or acoustic, but maybe you've chosen it for headphone use like I need), have you chosen P 515 only for budget reason or just for not spending too much on a Digital? Ciao
Hello and my apologies for the belated response! I appreciate your kind feedback about my playing! To answer your questions why I chose this DP: In short I have no space and no budget for an acoustic at the moment.;( 1. Why DP not acoustic: I move (change apartments) almost every year, and it is impossible to do with a piano:( I would need to get a more permanent place to live first before getting an acoustic. But I miss it very much! You can imagine probably...I would love to own an acoustic, it is my dream really....and it is what I played on mainly all my life, until about 4 years ago. Since then I do not have any acoustic instrument to practice on, and I didn't need to, since I didn't practice seriously until last April. When I decided to start practicing again I started looking for a better DP than my old Roland FP 30. 2. Why this model and not a higher end DP: Budget, yes. sadly...I was open to up to 2.5 K range, I was looking at Kawai CA series with the wooden keys, they felt very nice the action, but didn't like their sound and much as CFX sample of Yamaha. I also liked Yamaha YDP 184 sound and feel, but it is a console (not portable) and plastic keys. Also I really liked CLP 665GP, if you are looking for a digital Grand piano option , (has plastic keys though, but gorgeous sound and powerful) just feels too much for me right now.... (around 5.2 K) I would rather buy a decent upright acoustic later. Bottom line: if you are a real musician and determined to practice , you will find your way around even on a middle range DP, if it is capable enough. So this is the most affordable and capable instrument I found at the time (last summer, I still didn't see anything I like better in that price range). Sorry for the long answer. I hope it helps! Ciao
I have a Yamaha N3X and in a cruel twist of irony for both of us I do not play near as well as you do! (Short version: you deserve my piano more than I do.) That said, I find the CFX sound, while beautiful and versatile too bright for a piece such as this. I prefer the Bösendorfer instead. What is your experience with these voices for different pieces of music on the P-515? P.S. Exquisitely played. You obviously feel this music (how could you not?!). Keep up the great playing and keep posting.
Hi Vara, and thank you for your kind comment! I feel humbled by it, but I am sure you are making beautiful music on your wonderful instrument! I have never tried it , but I looked it up, it looks amazing! Regarding our question...I have to admit, that I mainly use the CFX sound, it is very clear and very responsive to all little nuances , that I intend to express with my fingers. It might be considered too bright, but it is a matter of taste, of course. I find the Bösendorfer sound to be too timid, and a bit less intense in its expressivity. I think it works well with some pieces by JS.Bach, it creates this mellow and velvety tone, suiting for a many of Bach's pieces textures. I have not tried yet, but I think it might also be good for Debussy, Sati, to creates the tender pastel tones. But for Chopin I choose CFX. Sorry, for a diverging opinion, but we all have our own tastes:) What do you like to play on the Bösendorfer?
@@Dariafortepiano Thanks for the response! I have read that the Bösendorfer plays differently across digital pianos, perhaps the sound is different for the N3X? In any case if it's a quieter piece, such as a Gymnopedie, for instance, The Bösendorfer tends to be my piano of choice. I'm brushing up on some Bach right now, actually -- hadn't thought to give the Bösendorfer a whirl. Everything said and done, I do use the CFX about 80% of the time. It's a fantastic sample. :)
@@MrVara411 hmm...maybe you are right and it does vary from instrument to instrument, the sample I mean. Yes! Gymnopedies would be perfect for Bösendorfer! I love those miniatures!:) giving me ideas, thank you!!
Very impressive performance. But unlike other commenters I feel the lack of a real concert grand. The fact is, I've never seen such masterful playing that WASN'T on a concert grand. Of course the Yamaha 515 is a fantastic keyboard... but still, the real thing is something else. It reminds me of this cartoon, where the trendy intellectual puts on VR goggles and says to his wife "I'm on the beach at Copa Cabana! What could be better?" and she replies "Being on the beach at Copa Cabana" (implied: in real life) !
Hi Gerard and thank you for you kind compliment and comment! I completely agree about this being a completely different music on the real grand piano. No keyboard can compare to a sound of a good acoustic piano! I wish I had a real piano:(( one day, I hope! I will definitely keep working on the piece and will keep looking for a place to record on a good grand piano. It also requires time to adjust to a new instrument, so I just need to invest some money into renting a studio for a couple of hours with a good piano. I tried recording it on a couple of of pianos I was able to get access to, but neither of them had the responsive quality that I wanted, and that I can get from my p515 (funny to say, I know! It is my first time seriously practicing on a keyboard daily as opposed to an acoustic, but in the current situation it is the only thing I can get, unfortunately) Thanks much for your support and suggestion!
I do not know what I enjoy more, your playing or your appearance playing. Beautiful as you are

So beautiful, thank you for this.
Thank you so much! My pleasure to share the music!
My favorite Chopin Ballade…so packed with emotion…never fails to bring a tear. Loved your interpretation…some passages reminded me of Pollini!
Double Like: one for Mozart and one for you, DariaPiano
beautiful and very inspiring!
Thank you so much , as always! :)
This is beautiful. Normally I can figure out differences in sound between a digital and accoustic piano, but for this video I wouldn't have noticed. Also, you might be the only pianist to practice this piece on a budget digital piano!
Thanks so much!!😊
Such a beautiful performance. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
Thank you so much for listening!! 🙏🏻
I can not imagine anyone playing this piece better than you have done in this video!
Thank you! Best of luck with your studies!

Thank you so much for your generous feedback and for taking time to listen to my performance!😊🙏
Appreciate your support!
haha, yes...maybe they will gift me a real CFX Grand eventually:)) just joking, of course.
Best,
Daria
{Slow clap} Your videos really sell the P-515. Well done.
Haha, wasn't my intention, but I'm glad if it helps people choose:) 😄

Wonderful performance, Daria
Thank you very much! Appreciate the time you take to listen and your feedback!
Very nicely played. And a great performance! I want to tackle it, but I’m afraid of the road I’d go down.
As a story telling &/or conversation 🙏🏽💥👍🏽
To me , that’s a very soulful as a jazz piece .... because you play it with very real deep emotion ...
🙏🏽💥👍🏽...
Simply wow! You have literally pushed P515 to the limit of dynamic range. Simply fantastic!
Thank you for our kind comment! yes, I like pushing limits:) I hope this keyboard can withstand some more of my future performances, it has been great so far!
@@Dariafortepiano let’s push some limits together then :)
Super. I just bought this piano.
Great! Hope you enjoy it!👍
Elegant Gown for the occasion 🙏🏽❤️🌹
The Natural Light hit you just right too 🙏🏽❤️🌺🌹
Thank you very much. for the compliments!
I started in Classical music but now I play chiefly Gospel and Jazz, which doesn't usually have sustained passages requiring forte playing as Classical pieces have.
wow at times I was on the edge of my seat ..very good, very good indeed.
So grateful for your kind comment and for taking time to listen!
if you select Bosendorfer imperial, cathedral and reverb in 127 sounds stunning, great performance and great piano, i have the same one😊greetings from Spain🌹

I would love to hear you play that in a cathedral setting with the reverb on roughly 60% . Try it.. definitely on the bosendorfer
Haha, I tried a little bit , but it seems too much reverb. Sound blends too much, no "space" between notes really. I think its fun to try things, but it is a matter of taste after all if we prefer one way or another:) Sorry for the belated response! Cheers!
@@Dariafortepiano your piano sound has the perfect character for this style of music,I tend to “over” reverb my sound sometimes.

Listening to Your performance here again , it is MOVING 💥🙏🏽... To me
, when music is really moving me emotionally technique is almost nit even thought about in the mind of the listener because the feel jist puts in in the trance of the moment , making it truly mimicking experience ... I’m really feeling this performance ...... This performance really feels like it belonged in an actual concert hall.
I personally would save that performance , and transfer the midi date to an actually computer type player piano set up on very
High quality ‘real’ acoustic grand piano and listen to it being replayed right on an actual acoustic grand piano .....
So it’s actually nice if the P515 has really nice piano like action feel & touch ... that way if ever you wish to transfer the very performance that your ex completed right on the P-515 . You would need to perform it again physically ...
That’s the beauty of recording the MIDI data of a Performace as well .... Plus one cna keep the actual performance and even change to a different piano sound on the keyboard as well ... with out ‘re-performing ‘ physically 🤗💥👍🏽
amazing!
Thank you!!🙏😊
More please ,ur musica is so beauty
Thank you Jie!😊🙏 will post more soon!!👍
Beautifully played. I've heard this before, but just not quite the way you have performed this piece. Chopin it seems was a pseudo-proto modernist, with a style of composition bordering on the neuvo-arts of then Paris. I like Raindrops and reissued interest for this piece since I have seen the movie Prometheus. He lead such an ill life, but in his music he lives on. Thanks.
Hello, and thank you for your beautiful comment!🙏🏻 I know its been 3 months, my apologies for not responding sooner. but better late than never, I believe:)
Yes, I agree, Chopin, whose spirit was much stronger than his body, brought innovation especially to with his through-composer forms, and the short forms, such as preludes. Each of them a gem in its won way. I was just recently browsing for movies to watch and Prometheus came up, I saved it to my watch list.👍🏻

what are your sound settings? Besides the 10 reverb recital hall
to be honest I did not change anything else. The CFX sound with medium touch and 10 reverb recital. That's it. nothing fancy here:)
Great performance - what do you think about the P515? In particular about the action!
Cheers!👩🏫🎹
@@Dariafortepiano thanks. I come from acoustic piano (Yamaha C3) so I should have no problem to adapt to it.

Hi, What is the best sounding closed back headphone for yamaha p515 ?
I play mostly classsical pieces
I don't know what's best to be honest, but I use the Audio Technica , it's a very good brand for headphones. I love mine!
@@Dariafortepiano thank you so much for your reply and which model of the Audio technica do you recommend ?
Bellissima ❤
Thank you very much!!

About choosing this piano I will copy my answer from another comment, I hope you don't mind:)
Why this model and not a higher end DP:
Budget, sadly..
Cheers!
Oops! I meant, really meant Chopin
You played it so beautifuly..!!👏👏
Chopin is my favorite composer!
Which part of this ballade is your favorite?
Hi Pedro. Thank you kindly for your comment! I love Chopin too! he is in my top 3 composers:) He is so human is his emotions...and so genuine..
Ah, tough question...my favorite parts are: second theme when it first appears so tenderly (m. 68), and then second time when it make in a triumphant return with octaves (measures 106-125) (the part which I messed up the most....because I get so emotional, hard to control, need to get better at this...) and the part right before the coda (il pie forte possibile) and the coda itself....of course:))
I think my most favorite in measures 109-114:)
Which is your favorite part/parts?
@@Dariafortepiano my favorite parts are (measures 82-90), and when it repeats more strongly at (measures 180-188)😄

Hello again Daria 🙏🏽.... Just out the blue ... to mention again about saving Your performances in MIDI file format as well then you may even be able to release an album without even leaving your home 🤗 , by just having the tranfer of your performances’ MIDI files to a studio , location or even remote studio or recording engineer who may have access to a fine grand piano where the none permanently placed QRS player piano system may be placed right over the keys of a very fine piano 🎹, and play back a nice performance of your choosing (from the midi files if your performance ) , then that remote recording engineer could then try various
Methods of 🎤 mic placements in recording that fine grand piano playing your performance as if you were there present in person 🤗.
Once the Performace is recorded on an actual acoustic grand , then once the recording is mixed and mastered , it can be released as a digital download , or pressed to cd 💿 if desired 🙏🏽.
Tomorrow is not promised (in this life at least ) 🙏🏽
Once you’ve worked extensively enough on a piece ‘ and are happy with it , if saved in MIDI file format why not publish it for prosperity ?
How do you like the action compared to an acoustic?
I made a whole review video on this piano, if you would like to get some more details about different aspects of it, including the action. Here is the link:
ruclips.net/video/NHt0wbKgPVk/видео.html
Quick reply: I like the action.
These are all great ideas, thank so much for suggesting! Will be sometime before I can try any of them , but keeping them in my mind!:)

Thank you for the compliment! The audio was recorded directly into the piano, then extracted as audio file.
Are you using virtual resonance modeling?
Yep. I think it's on by default. Unless you turn it off manually.
*Frank
Sorry to criticize, but I speak from my personal experience. )
I hope it helped a bit!

You Know That I Love U
you're such a great pianist Daria! impressive technique and great expression.
To answer your questions why I chose this DP:
In short I have no space and no budget for an acoustic at the moment.;(
2. Why this model and not a higher end DP:
Budget, yes. sadly...I was open to up to 2.5 K range, I was looking at Kawai CA series with the wooden keys, they felt very nice the action, but didn't like their sound and much as CFX sample of Yamaha. Of course it cannot compare to the real instrument, but I found it good enough and capable of expressing what I wanted to deliver in my playing.
Ciao
Also, I am sorry you had to sell your grand piano...
@@Dariafortepiano Thank you very much for the time you took to answer me Daria. I really appreciate it. You're a kind person.
Sorry, for a diverging opinion, but we all have our own tastes:)
What do you like to play on the Bösendorfer?

♥️♥️♥️♥️
I hear that it is very well done, but it has little emotional effect on on me. That's a comment on me, not the pianist or composer!
It is my first time seriously practicing on a keyboard daily as opposed to an acoustic, but in the current situation it is the only thing I can get, unfortunately)
Thanks much for your support and suggestion!
Wow ... what a lousy sounding piano patch
