March 1st is a very special day for me for personal reasons. It is Chopin's Birthday! It marks the day I moved to the United States 15 years ago...and now it is even more significant...in a very tragic way....we said final goodbye to one of the bravest, strongest, brightest, honest people, a hero like no other.... I felt like this piece was an appropriate tribute for his memory, even though he ...

Music by Daria Tennikova. Piano Trio no.2 with score.

Hello all, As I am preparing another teaching video, I decided to meanwhile share a few more original compositions of mine. This one is written back in 2021, but I believe that it represents my current stylistic language. This was a piece I have written after a 2 year break from composing. It was an artistic crisis, so to speak, after my tonal music pursuits were rejected and ridiculed by other...

This is me starting to learn the op. 25 no 11. I wanted to show how I approach learning an etude like this and what my focus is from the start. Editing took a long time and is still full of mistakes, so sorry. Sometimes it l...

Hi Daria, I have a question. I have had a Kawai CN 34 digital piano at home for 10 years, it has a very beautiful sound. Last week I bought a Yamaha CLP 845. I am very disappointed with its sound, it is dull. Have you ever tried playing a Kawai? And why did you choose the Yamaha brand? Your channel is very interesting and educational, thank you.
Great review!. If you had to chose between the Yamaha entry level acoustic piano (PJU109) and the CLP-745, which would you choose?, they are about the same price. Im a classical pianist BTW.
I would love to see a comparison between the $20,000 Yamaha baby grand to a Clavinova CVP Grand Piano like the CVP-809GP or the CVP-909GP, that would be extremely interesting
Oh my gosh yes! When I got my acoustic yesterday pedaling with my digital was an after thought and now all I’m doing is realizing how wrong I was doing it. It is so blurred and now I’m relearning everything again 😅. But the sound is so encompassing and alive compared to the digital. Digital = practical and practice Acoustic = performance and beauty and expensive 😂
Yeah I just bought an acoustic from a digital and it feels like an entirely different instrument! The keys are so much different feeling and my digital was a weighted yamaha
Found your channel yesterday. Excellent instruction...had to scribe up. I am binge watching your vids. Really, really great stuff....thanks....
Thank you very much for leaving a comment and for subscription! I am glad you find my videos useful! I will post more over the Thanksgiving break:)
I watched your video about assembling the stand for the P-515 piano. (My stand had no manual packaged with it. So, I have to watch that other video yet again in order to get the stand assembled.) If you are still using the P-515 in the present video, I wonder why the button on your piano that says "FUNCTION," while mine says "MENU". Yamaha probably made some minor changes over the years. I just got this piano yesterday, so I've been reading the manual (I DID get a manual with the piano!) and playing around with the piano (while the keyboard is still on the floor). Therefore, I have learned from you, in this and the stand video, valuable things that I did not know before. Thank you!
Thank you for this video, I was really confused by some of the posture rules and this really helped me understand them and how to apply them as well. Very nice work ♡
I really enjoy watching your videos! Would it be possible to play the keys more slowly when demonstrating fingering? The current speed makes it difficult to see the placement of each finger clearly. Thanks 🙏
Amazing this is my favorite polonaise as well
You are very articulate and expressive
My comment seems have been removed??
You have the ability to explain things so that they can be easily understood by all and that go to the very heart of the issue, you are amazing
very informative but it is is yet another approach to finger technique. Check out Yeol Eum Son playing Mozart piano concerto 21 ruclips.net/video/tlemxI7QciA/видео.html even during fast passages her wrists are below the keyboard. There are many schools of thought about what is a proper technique. They are all probably right for the right person. :)
You advocate things not to do and then do them yourself so do not practice what you preach,
what a waste of time and effort ...! good luck playing a singing Legato with those curly fingers! and thats just tip of the iceberg ...!
Beautiful! Your performance has such emotions, and the accoustics of that hall are amazing.
Lovely. Thank you for sharing 🌹
Heavenly played adagio!! So touching and deep emotions. Especially love 5:36 - 6:11 and 6:40 - the end. Can’t imagine how gorgeous this will be with orchestra!
This is beautiful. Normally I can figure out differences in sound between a digital and accoustic piano, but for this video I wouldn't have noticed. Also, you might be the only pianist to practice this piece on a budget digital piano!
Thanks so much!!😊
Brava. Some things, would be careful about is the Romantically inspired rubato (more so small pauses to emphasize), dynamic mellowness and not boldness, and Romantic arm movements. The last could psychologically cause you to play romantically. Otherwise, beautiful
Thanks so much for the tips you shared! I tried implementing it! Appreciate the feedback!🙏
So good 🎉🎉
I used to be interested in bodybuilding and you possess a pretty aesthetic and muscular upper limb. Phenomenal bicep length and sweep right to the elbow. And thats a complement not a criticism. Are those arms genetic like Lee Priest or do you pump iron? Don't tell me its from playing Hanon!😅
Thank you very much for the nice compliment about my arms! I used to be into calisthenics for many years. That's how I built my muscles. Unfortunately the last two years I have taken a break, because of shoulder injury, but I'm slowly getting back into it again. I miss my workout routine....😭
@@Dariafortepiano oh yes! That kind of density can only come from years of work outs. All the best to getting back to your workouts. Don't give up. Do at least a year of weights before getting back to calisthenics.
Bach is a divine depth of thoughts and feelings. Thank you!
How can one pass this and not like?
Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for making this video! Its very informative and very well explained! I was looking for wrist/arm techniques and this is by far the best and most practical video that I found. I've been playing piano for yrs but I never had any formal classes so I was never taught these things. When I started focusing on learning classical pieces that's when I developed tendonitis and it's very, very true that not having the proper technique really hampers everything. Unfortunately, I only truly realized and appreciate this now 😅 So now that I'm 'resting' I'm taking the time to go back to the basics and learn as much as I can on correct techniques
I'm so glad it was so helpful for you! Thank you for leaving a comment! Best of luck with your piano studies!
I guess why this video recieved ao less likes. And thanks i never imagined these two pianos sound this much different
if you select Bosendorfer imperial, cathedral and reverb in 127 sounds stunning, great performance and great piano, i have the same one😊greetings from Spain🌹
Wow that’s quite a list! Electric guitars obviously remain essentially an analogue, vibrating sound engine with that unique connection to the player.. Hmmm, digital keys have come a long way and yet,, , so much to tweak on digital keys/digital pianotec ,”plus”. Thank you, good fun 😊
Thank you! 🙏
Stumbled on these wonderful insights from the YT algorythym . Subtle yet real, thank you for breaking down what one is hearing( and not hearing , or perhaps always hearing identically in digital) , this is really helpful at this time of prepurchase..🙏😎
Thank you for leaving nice feedback!!🙏
I decided to purchase 745 by you thanks a lot for your all beneficial review this is the most indetailed video about 745🙏
Bellissima ❤
Thank you very much!!
@@Dariafortepiano Prego! 💝💖☀️🌻
Until your eyeballs fall out I imagine...and THEN...do it all AGAIN...maybe two or three more times. Repetition is an underrated accomplice of virtuosity. The real question is whether or not the student can delay gratification. To be able to suffer the arrows of doubt, setbacks, the slog and the grind long enough to produce something meaningful and beautiful. It's a question I'm currently grappling with as I make a scary leap toward the piano with little prior experience. So many questions. So many reservations. I'm not even sure why it comes to me so late in life (55)...or why it seems so much more compelling and important than before. To live the life of a pianist...because I've never been able to do anything half-way...not chess and not cycling. I don't know what that life looks like. It's hard to envision. The music is mellifluous and breath-taking at times but maybe that won't be enough in the end. But I will go to the edge and see...
Finally a video with sound samples. All the other videos about Acoustic vs Digital Pianos are just talking.
Why is no one mentioning fatigue in the right hand?? Even with rotation I find myself struggling to not build up tension😭😭
Hello! greetings. Question: What is the difference between the P-515 and the P-525? Sorry, my English is very basic...thank you very much.
Excellent information. Thank you.
I'm glad it was helpful!:)
Wow! So much dedication and passion!
Great video! USB audio interface?
Hi Daria! Thank you so much for review! Could you send your settings for CFX and Bosendorfer? I have also CLP 745 but think voice of your piano is much more beautyfully than my. thank you in advance! Cheers from Poland!
She told it's stock settings.
Try using headphones and compare, the sound from speaker will never be as good as line out recording
Thank you Daria. I love your lessons, as an adult beginner. Learning to play with the right articulation and technic from the beginning is very important. You are right - it’s not as glamorous and may seem boring - but this what it takes to play fluidly and injury free. Thank you very much for your very important lessons!!! 🤍🖤
Thank you so much for the detailed information 🎉
Wonderful! I'm glad you are enjoying the information in the video! Thank you for leaving a comment!🙏
This cantabile playing makes the piano disappear, and I only hear a singing harp! Magical!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback!:)
Hi Daria am very happy to fall on one of your video and I play since I was a kid am and intermediate and I wish to know all this exercise before I start playing piano with my old bad habit..those who play knows the important of a good way of start playing piano for long term..thanks you so much..
I wish you recorded your wonderful performances in midi files …. I’d love to listen back to your performances playing back on Acoustic Player Pianos ..: Yamaha Disklavier … &/or other(s) 🙏🏽🤗❤️🎹
You should try Pianoteq8. It will transform your playing experience
I'm a newbie. Thanks for this. Very foundational. I've already developed some bad habits that this video will help me to correct. The exercises, in particular, are worth the watch.
Thank you very much your content is just amazing ❤ Could you make a video about how to express music through the piano? how our touch can influence the sound we are making?. You mentioned that on your video and I am super interested on understanding how we can create emotion through our touch .
