Hey Group, Hopefully this adventure is well received, we’ll see how everyone feels soon enough. This was a long day, tried some new filming techniques out and learned more do’s and don’ts. All in all, the day was a success and I hope that everyone enjoys this. Feel free to play this video several times to get the average view duration up (it gets this video suggested more). Comment, like and share if you can. From the Hansler Family, thank you to all of those supporting this channel and making productions Ike this possible. Take care and as always... Until Next Time, Bob Hansler
Bob Hansler I sincerely appreciate the effort that you put into teaching so many important techniques, every time I see a video uploaded I watch immediately because of the enjoyment of pure knowledge that is being taught. Your an inspiration to so many people including myself and while you are teaching about the wilderness and survival you are also teaching how to keep doing what you love no matter what life obstacles stand in front of you. I’m aware of the struggle you’ve had to deal with off camera, I hope your vision is getting better day by day and wish that you continue to heal. Once again thank you for being an inspiration and brightening everyone’s day by doing what you love.
Bob, I will be lifting you up in prayer. My sister-in-law had a rare blood type and got on the kidney transplant list with the possibility of a 5 year wait. Within 6 months she got the call. Her transplant was about 7 years ago and she is well and enjoying life on the horse ranch near Ft. Worth. She is 66 years old. You have youth on your side. I'm believing in your recovery and a transplant soon. God bless you and your family.
Hey Mr. Bob Hansler, A while back I came across a video of yours that told about how Yucca was edible. I have lived in Texas all my life and I never knew you could eat Yucca. First video I watched I learned something useful. Every video of yours I watch I discover a real world lesson and I want you to know I appreciate it. I know you had some medical problems. My wife and I said some prayers for you. Not sure why the good Lord might listen to me but I hope you are well and getting better. I am 60 years old and a Texas native and your sincere, down to earth and often surprising information is very much appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.
This is my first visit to this channel. I have to say his straight forward approach works. He doesn't talk any shit and it's straight to the point! Thumbs up!
Dear Bob, Hill Country Texas old widow woman/retired Sped teacher here living on 3 acres on a red dirt road. Retired and moved here 10 yrs ago not knowing diddlysquat. Been working on diddly ever since. Started thinking I would never make it to squat until I found your channel by chance a week ago. Was looking up how to cook yucca flowers. Found you..Bingo! They were tasty. Then something about your demeanor drew me in. Have binge-watched with my dogs ever since. This particular video is superb. I was 17 the very first time I visited the Davis Mtns.I remember thinking and feeling that it was a magical place. That was 52 years ago. This video rekindled my passion for those mountains. Glad to know that stellar fellers like you are carrying on the traditions of Texas and sharing with all of us. You and yours are in my prayers. With warm regards to you and your lovely wife, Shauna Holly Belle Gilmore
I was just curious... 2 hours ago... This guy is addictive. Love his style. You are an inspiration for basic living. I feel alive just watching you. Nice work.
Watching these reminds me of our survival camp outs. Unfortunately my troop was in England and we didn't get the opportunity to do this kind of fishing. Most of our training was snairing rabbit and foraging berries and tubers. Saw your hat and knew what was up. You are an awesome bush master!
It was good to see you out & about again Bob ( and Mrs Bob cameralady ) beautiful pool of water , like a desert oasis . . sure hope y'all have a great Christmas , , looking forward to more great videos 2020.. : - )
A brisk swim is a treat Bob I suppose its all how we see each thing as we pick to see it as. Hope if it was a chilly dip you warmed up soon as you saw need to.
Another great instructional vid... I think that your dog may be one of the wisest creatures on earth. It’s in his eyes. Even the way he snubbed your meal in the end was priceless!
Yep I do know Texas! Ever been to Black Mesa Terlingua? I mapped the area with plane table and adelaide. That was before we had GPS and as far as I know I had the most comprehensive geologic map of the area Especially Lowes Valley. Such a nice place. Thanks for your video post man! Brings back some of them memories.
I'm sick and tired of the 'survival' RUclips amateurs. Haha Another fantastic video bob, it still shocks me how much bigger everything really is in Texas.
.........This is a really professionally made production..... Shawna got some great camera angles....and quite a few of them.....Your choices of background music was perfect for the occasion/setting. Kinda reminded me of The Magnificent Seven there at the end. That canyon is made for very sure footed people and mountain goats. It's small wonder you wound up in the creek...made me cold just watching. I could tell Huck was worried about you after your swim, he is an exceptional dog. Your drone footage is exceptional as well.....really adds a huge perspective to the country......Very good video and very well made.....Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the whole family.....Be safe......
this is quite honestly one of your best if not the best work youve put out the editing is amazing and just the whole video captured my attention. thank you for putting this stuff out here also good news i got my first elk this year hes a monster.
Love all your videos they give me a yearning to tag along as I love exploring, thriving and fishing and such its freedom quite unlike anything else. Safe travels Bob, my prayers go with you.
Bob there's a spirit watching you and Huck in the rock wall @ 27:45-about 27:49 you can see a huge face (center of the screen) watching as you cast. This must be a special place indeed..
You need to give your camera opperator a raise. Their professionalism on this was through the roof. I would of been laughing so hard. Great video through and through.
Love the cap Bob my son is a Eagle Scout and I have been in scouts as a ASAP for years retired last year proud to see you with a scout cap on makes me proud of the time I have given
Scouting has been one of the most positive and life changing organizations that my family has been a part of. It’ll take more than a lifetime to give back all that I feel that I owe for the blessing that it has been to us.
video after video from you, Bob. I've learned so many things. Thank you. Also, I've also learned you have the best dog in the world. Huck is a one of a kind!
mr. hansler you'll never know how much pleasure i get from watching you do your thing. so glad you are back at it. got steered to you thru the wooded beardsman recently, and found out about your health issues. you are an eagle scout - that says a lot. - you are a teacher, thar says more. i have binged on your videos since. you have a lovely wife and i suspect she did some camera work here. you are a truly gifted teacher. in my neck of the woods timber rattlers are nearly gone, as are frogs turtles and bats.50 years ago they were all in abundance. during the depression my grandfather made money snaring rattlers with a cane pole and wire snare from the den in the bluff above his house. sold to the university of iowa. i think it was to make antivenom but i don't know if that is true. anyhow it is wonderful to watch your very well done videos. the best out there actually. you are still young and i wish you the very best life has to offer. you have most certainly enriched mine!

No more bills save for the check-ups. Hopefully science can make me a functional eye some day. Until then, half of one is so I need. I’ll see about making an update video on the eyes. Takes a bit to think about those dark days... keep waking up wondering how long what I have will last. Just making the best of every moment. We’ll keep at it. Thank you for being you.
Great video, beautiful scenery, and have to disagree with comment about Huck. He really cares about Bob, he stays by his side and watched his back. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I’m only half way through the video, but I had to pause to SUBSCRIBE and to comment: THANK YOU for your low-key, unassuming, gentle and highly engaging teaching & sharing style! I am SO enjoying this- the scenery, the camera angles, the specific content, the instructions, the soothing vibe... I only wish your faithful and attentive companion had a tail to wag, because it is very clear that they are devoted to you & are enjoying the whole experience!😂😂 Thanks so much for sharing & for teaching 💐💐💐 (Now: back to the video to see that fishing line in action!!.....)
Great content as always man, I don't live in Texas but i am from southern Arizona and it isn't that much different in terms of Plants and Wildlife, so I always feel that sense of home when I see the terrain that you explore. Always nice to see there's someone else who knows how to live off the land and knows how to respect nature like you do. Always other options. 4 miles further and atop one of those mountains is a tank that isn’t fished and stays full year round. I’ve more places to show y’all out there. I’ll never starve though :)
I genuinely love your adventures. So natural, the sound of surrounding as if we the watchers are with you in there - I love the simplicity of you content. We had a dog have an attitude like yours, lovely companion. Take care!
I love your videos, but I always keep an eye on Huck whenever possible throughout the whole thing. I'm still puzzled how he knows exactly when and where to go, when and where to stop. This dog reads your very soul man!
You know, I fly back and forth between my hometown of Los Angeles, and New York City, and I'm always amazed at the beautiful land across our beautiful nation. Sadly, I'll never get to see all of our country in my lifetime, as she is vast. Up to 5 and a half to six hours sometimes, of pure flight. However, your videos allow me to appreciate the beautiful land that still exists here in our beautiful nation USA. Keep up the videos. Sometimes the Amazon blood in me wants to swim in a river, spear a fish, and watch the stars unfettered by city light. Like how my mother used to back in her younger years in Equitos, Peru. Living off the rain forest and Amazon river. Be safe, and a Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤😊
Just dropping by to support you, Bob! If you're reading this and you don't know (random RUclipsr), Bob is now unable to post anymore videos due to his health condition. If you have the time, go back into his older videos and watch them before bed or something. That'll help him get a little revenue to help with medical expenses and hopefully help him get back to where he can start posting things again. Thank you, also send Bob and his family your thoughts and prayers.
Mr Hansler ive watched many of your videos and i haven't seen that big a smile on your face until this video i aslo noticed you weren't wearing your shades glad your eyes are workin better my friend or i assume they are cause you used to never take em off either way you seem alot happier and im deffently glad to see that im go back to watching the video now...

Lots of work for a fish, but you earned it.
Truly. Flash flood earlier that season must have wiped the majority of fish from the pool. Hard won.
The Wooded Beardsman was here nice & fantastic video. Was definitely earned, sometimes the extra effort is needed. 💪😎✊
Nice

Yea, in editing I noticed my walking looks a bit unsteady. Glad to have this much.
I genuinely love your adventures. So natural, the sound of surrounding as if we the watchers are with you in there - I love the simplicity of you content. We had a dog have an attitude like yours, lovely companion. Take care!
I'm always in awe of these great videos. Absolutely amazing amount of knowledge and skills. Thanks for sharing.
I love your videos, but I always keep an eye on Huck whenever possible throughout the whole thing. I'm still puzzled how he knows exactly when and where to go, when and where to stop. This dog reads your very soul man!
But he doesn't seem to know to eat.. lol my dog would tear that shit up!! He'd starve to death in a survivor situation. I think he's a city dog...
I swear I adore Huck!!!! He's such a good boy!!!
This is cool as hell. I didnt see that frog, but Huck did. Love the videos Bob. Merry xmas
we don't have cactus but I have used a safety pin for a hook before and it worked, you just have to keep tension on the line to bring in the fish.
